Zoutons Picks — AJIO Bags, August 2026

199 AJIO bag listings read on August 7. None carries a rating. The badge on each one turns out to describe the label on the bag, not the bag.

Prices & codes last verified August 7, 2026

Sort any bag shelf by discount and you assume you are sorting by value. On AJIO's, you are sorting by brand. We read 199 bag listings across three searches on August 7 and the pattern was immediate: RIO's twenty listings carry exactly two badges between them, 70 per cent and 50, with nothing in between. AVAASA's eight do the same. Fourteen of VAN HEUSEN's nineteen sit inside a two-point window. FASTRACK never breaks 39 per cent and CAPRESE never falls below 68, so the two ranges never meet. No listing here publishes a rating, either. The 22 picks below are read on the rupees.

Every price below was pulled from AJIO on August 7, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our AJIO coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

22 Picks From 199 AJIO Bag Listings, Read August 7

Chapter One

The Brands That Are Always 70 Per Cent Off

Eight bags from eight labels, every one badged 70 per cent or deeper. What makes them a chapter rather than a list is what surrounds each one: CAPRESE has nine listings in this pull and none is under 68 per cent; Accessorize London has seven and all sit between 65 and 72; RIO has twenty and every single one is at either 70 or 50. These are not eight good deals that happened to land together. They are eight labels whose discount is set as a house rate.

Chapter Three

The Brands That Barely Discount at All

Six bags between 30 and 46 per cent, from the houses that hold their prices. FASTRACK has twelve listings here and none exceeds 39 per cent. VAN HEUSEN has nineteen and fourteen of them sit at 45 or 46. Miraggio's median across eleven listings is 30. Set that against chapter one - CAPRESE's floor is 68 - and you have two groups of brands on one shelf whose discount ranges never touch. The bags in this chapter are not worse. They are priced by a different rule.

Rs. 1,668Rs. 2,78040% off
19

Shallow by house rule

Miraggio Women Crossbody Sling Bag

Rs. 1,499 at 40 per cent, against a Miraggio median of 30 across eleven listings.

22
Puma PLUSH Women's Everyday Tote Bag AJIO sale
Shallowest badge on this page

Rs. 1,609Rs. 2,29930% off

“RIO has twenty bags on this shelf, in three different aisles, at prices from Rs. 390 to Rs. 900. Thirteen are 70 per cent off and seven are 50. There is no third number.” Zoutons Editorial Team

How to shop a bag shelf where the discount describes the brand

Four rules, all of them supported by the numbers on this page. First: sort by price, not by discount, because sorting by discount on this shelf sorts brands by pricing policy - it puts every CAPRESE above every FASTRACK regardless of what either bag is. Second: compare within a price band rather than within a badge band; the Rs. 1,400 to Rs. 2,200 window here holds an EXOTIC at 66 per cent, a Miraggio at 40 and a VAN HEUSEN at 46, and those three are the real comparison. Third: with no ratings published anywhere, spend your attention on the parts that fail - zip pulls, strap joins and hardware plating - and prefer listings whose photographs actually show them. Fourth: remember that a stated MRP is a reference figure, so a Rs. 4,140 sticker on a Rs. 683 tote is not evidence the bag was ever Rs. 4,140. Card and bank offers that stack on these prices are tracked on our AJIO coupons page, re-verified daily by the deals desk.

What we skipped — and why

What we left out, and why: 177 of the 199 listings. The great majority were within-brand near-duplicates - RIO alone accounts for twenty listings that differ mainly in print and colourway, and seating more than one would have padded the page without adding a fact. We also passed most of the Rs. 400 to Rs. 900 printed-canvas middle, where a dozen labels sell interchangeable totes at interchangeable prices. Nothing was excluded for carrying an inconvenient number: every brand whose badges spread widely - ESBEDA across 35 points, Puma across 33, Miraggio across 33 - is seated here at both ends of its range, precisely because those are the listings that weaken the clustering finding. All 199 listings remain in every count, median and band quoted on this page, because the findings depend on the complete set rather than on the 22 shown.

What we look for

Three searches, price and stated MRP both required

On August 7, 2026 we read three AJIO product searches - handbag, women sling bag and tote bag - and kept every listing that returned both a selling price and a stated MRP, discarding the rest, because a listing without an MRP cannot carry a badge and would distort every median quoted here. That leaves 199 listings, which is the denominator for every count, band and median on this page. Prices, stated MRPs, brand names and descriptions are AJIO's own as they displayed that day, and AJIO changes them frequently.

No rating exists anywhere in the pull, so none is used

Not one of the 199 listings publishes a star average or a review count. That is a total absence rather than a thin sample, and it decides what this page can honestly do: no rating pill appears on any pick, nothing is ranked by score, and no bag is recommended over another on the basis of what buyers reported. For bags, where the failure modes are zips, strap stitching and hardware plating - all of which show up in reviews after a few months and in no photograph on day one - that is a real limitation. We would rather state it than substitute a score of our own invention.

Badges were grouped by brand before anything was written

We sorted all 199 listings by brand and looked at the discount values each brand actually carries. The results drove this page's structure. RIO: twenty listings, thirteen at exactly 70 per cent and seven at exactly 50, with no third value. AVAASA: eight listings, four at 70 and four at 50. GUESS: five listings, three at 50 and two at 40. VAN HEUSEN: nineteen listings, fourteen of them at 45 or 46, whole range 31 to 50. FASTRACK: twelve listings, range 23 to 39, nothing higher. CAPRESE: nine listings, range 68 to 85, nothing lower. Accessorize London: seven listings, range 65 to 72. Across the full pull, 115 of the 199 badges land on a multiple of five.

The rows that cut against the finding were kept

A brand band is a band, not a constant, and three brands on this page contradict a tidier version of the story: ESBEDA appears at 75 and at 40 per cent, Puma at 63 and at 30, Miraggio from 20 to 53. All of those listings are seated on this page and both ends of each pair are shown, because dropping the wide-spread brands would have made the clustering look stronger than the data supports. What survives that test is narrower and still holds: several large brand presences here cluster very tightly, and two brands - CAPRESE and FASTRACK - have ranges that do not overlap at any point.

We have not handled any of these bags

No bag on this page has been seen, carried or opened by us. Every material description - vegan leather, croc embossing, canvas, quilting, colourblock panels - is the listing's own wording, reported as the seller's claim and not verified. We have not tested a zip, a strap join, a lining seam or a plating finish, and those are precisely the things that determine whether a Rs. 349 tote lasts one monsoon or three. Dimensions are also not stated consistently across these listings, so where we describe a bag as small or large we are describing how it is photographed and categorised, not a measurement.

FAQs

Why do all the RIO bags on AJIO have the same discount?

We can report the fact precisely and we cannot explain it. Across the 199 bag listings we read on August 7, 2026, RIO appeared twenty times - in the handbag, sling and tote aisles, at prices from about Rs. 390 to about Rs. 900 - and every one of those twenty listings carried a discount of either exactly 70 per cent or exactly 50 per cent. There was no third value. AVAASA, a Reliance Retail house label, showed the same structure across its eight listings. What that implies is a rate set at the level of the brand or the seller account rather than the individual bag, but the specific mechanism - a marketplace seller's blanket rule, a brand pricing agreement, a promotion tier - is not visible from a product page, so we have not guessed at it. The practical consequence is what matters to you: within RIO, a 70 per cent badge does not mean that bag is a better buy than the 50 per cent one.

Is a deeper discount on AJIO bags a better deal?

Not on this shelf, no, because the badge mostly tells you which brand you are looking at. FASTRACK has twelve listings here and none exceeds 39 per cent off. CAPRESE has nine and none falls below 68. Those two ranges do not overlap at any point, so every CAPRESE outranks every FASTRACK on a discount sort regardless of what either bag actually is. The FASTRACK slings at Rs. 670 and Rs. 965 are made by Titan's accessories arm to a consistent standard; the badge on them is describing Titan's pricing policy. Sort by price instead, pick a band you are willing to spend in, and compare the three or four bags inside it on capacity, closure and hardware. That comparison is the one that changes what you get.

Why does AJIO not show ratings or reviews on bags?

The site does not explain it, and we can only report the scope of the absence: across 199 listings drawn from three different searches, not one carried a star average or a review count. That is total rather than partial. For bags it is a specific loss, because the things that decide whether a bag lasts - whether the zip pull snaps, whether the strap stitching pulls out of the body, whether the plating on the hardware wears green - all emerge in reviews after three to six months and are invisible in a product photograph on day one. Without them, the substitutes are the listing photographs at full zoom with attention on the hardware and seams, the brand's reputation in physical stores, and AJIO's own returns window. None is as good as a few hundred people telling you what happened after a monsoon.

What is a realistic price for a decent everyday bag on AJIO?

This pull gives a fairly clear map. The floor is Rs. 253, and between roughly Rs. 250 and Rs. 700 you are buying printed canvas or coated synthetic totes and slings - genuinely useful as second bags, market bags or gym carriers, and priced accordingly. Between Rs. 700 and Rs. 1,600 the construction changes: zip closures become standard, straps get proper hardware, and brands like Mochi, FASTRACK and Zouk operate here. Between Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 3,000 you reach the structured office bags - VAN HEUSEN, EXOTIC, Miraggio, Accessorize London - which is where a bag that stands up on its own and holds a laptop lives. Above that, at the Rs. 2,800 Steve Madden satchel and the Rs. 7,500 GUESS tote, you are buying design and a name rather than more capacity. For most people the Rs. 700 to Rs. 1,600 band is where the money works hardest.

Two Mochi slings show the same price and the same MRP. Is that a listing error?

We cannot tell from outside, and we have not assumed it is an error. What we observed is that two different Mochi sling bags - different shapes, different closures, photographed separately - both appeared at Rs. 495 against a stated MRP of Rs. 990 on August 7, 2026. The most ordinary explanation is that a group of bags was priced together, which is consistent with everything else on this shelf: RIO's twenty listings resolving to two values, AVAASA's eight doing the same, GUESS at exactly 50 and exactly 40 per cent. A stated MRP that is exactly double the selling price on two unrelated bags is what group pricing looks like from the customer's side. It is worth knowing because it tells you the sticker is a reference figure applied to a set, not a fact about either bag.

More AJIO coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP, discount percentage, brand name and description here was read from ajio.com on August 7, 2026 across three product searches - handbag, women sling bag and tote bag - and every aggregate figure is computed from the resulting 199 listings as they displayed that day. AJIO's prices and its stated MRPs change frequently and nothing here is guaranteed to persist beyond that reading. The central findings - that none of the 199 listings publishes a star rating or review count, and that discount depth clusters by brand, with RIO and AVAASA resolving to two values each, fourteen of nineteen VAN HEUSEN listings inside a two-point window, FASTRACK capped at 39 per cent across twelve listings and CAPRESE floored at 68 across nine - are descriptions of those search results on that day. They are a snapshot of one retailer's listing pages, not a measure of the Indian bag market, of any brand's pricing policy as a whole, or of what any bag is worth. We do not know why discount depth tracks the brand on this shelf; brand-mandated pricing agreements, differing margin structures, stock age and marketplace-seller behaviour are all plausible, none is visible from outside the businesses involved, and we have deliberately not speculated about which applies to any named brand. Nothing here alleges misconduct by AJIO or by any brand mentioned. A stated MRP is a seller's reference figure and is not evidence that any bag ever sold at it. Every material and construction detail quoted - vegan leather, canvas, croc embossing, quilting, colourblock panels, detachable and adjustable straps, zip closures - is the listing's own claim, reported as a claim and not verified by us. We have not handled, carried or tested any bag on this page.
