We read 34 air fryer listings from Amazon's search results on 14 October 2026. Five of them badge 99% off, and on every single one the stated MRP works out to exactly 100.00 times the selling price — Rs. 2,990 against a stated Rs. 2,99,000, Rs. 5,579 against Rs. 5,57,900. And the eight Philips listings in the read never badge past 43%, against a shelf median of 55.5%.

First, divide the stated MRP by the price before you trust the badge. Five listings on this shelf return exactly 100.00, which is how a Rs. 2,990 air fryer comes to advertise 99% off. Two listings here sell at exactly Rs. 3,099 with badges of 69% and 99%. Second, read the rating count, and check whether several listings share it exactly. Five KENT listings report 4.0 from exactly 4,528 across a 1.96x price spread; an identical count means you are probably looking at one pool of reviews rather than five independent verdicts. Third, read the sample size, not just the average. The pools in this read run from 27 ratings to 12,268, and one mid-priced six-litre unit here rests on 33. Fourth, remember what this page is. It is a price page. Nothing was bought, unpacked, plugged in or cooked with, and no listing here is assessed for cooking performance, heat distribution, coating, noise, energy use or electrical safety. An air fryer is a mains-powered heating appliance: follow the manufacturer's instructions and check for the relevant Indian safety markings.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count here came from amazon.in's own search results, read on 14 October 2026, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. Three queries — air fryer, air fryer 4 litre and digital air fryer — returned 34 unique listings; 22 are seated. Every count, median, multiple and range quoted is computed over all 34 rows, not over the 22 shown.
For every listing we divided the stated MRP by the selling price. Five listings returned exactly 100.00 — Rs. 2,99,000 over Rs. 2,990, Rs. 3,09,900 over Rs. 3,099, Rs. 3,99,900 over Rs. 3,999, Rs. 4,31,900 over Rs. 4,319 and Rs. 5,57,900 over Rs. 5,579. The multiple is printed in the spec strip of every card on this page so the reader can check the arithmetic rather than take it on trust. The remaining 29 listings range from 1.23x to 5.44x.
32 of the 34 listings publish a rating and the median pool is 816, but the range is wide — from 27 ratings up to 12,268. A card here shows a rating pill only at 50 ratings or more. Smaller samples are stated in the card text together with their size, because the number of raters matters more than the average. Two listings in the read publish no rating at all.
Five KENT listings publish 4.0 from exactly 4,528 ratings at five different prices. We give the figures and say what an identical count usually means — one review pool serving more than one listing or variant. We have not opened the listings to confirm any relationship between them and do not assert one. Four of the five are seated here; the Rs. 4,599 listing is named in the text but not seated.
No product on this page is assessed for cooking performance, heat distribution, build, coating, noise, energy use, electrical safety or durability. Capacities, wattages, preset counts, basket materials and phrases such as '80% less oil', '100% food safe' and 'non toxic' are the listings' own printed text, reproduced as printed. An air fryer is a mains-powered heating appliance: follow the manufacturer's instructions and check for the relevant Indian safety markings before use.
Across the 34 listings we read on 14 October 2026, the median selling price is Rs. 4,849 and the range runs from Rs. 2,299 to Rs. 9,399. The cheapest in the read is a 4.2-litre Lifelong at Rs. 2,299; the dearest is a 6.2-litre Philips at Rs. 9,399. Roughly a third of the shelf sells under Rs. 3,100. The median advertised discount is 55.5%. Figures read 14 October 2026 and subject to change.
Because their stated MRP is printed at a very large multiple of what they sell for. Five listings in this read badge 99% off, and on every single one the stated MRP is exactly 100.00 times the selling price — Rs. 2,99,000 against Rs. 2,990, Rs. 3,09,900 against Rs. 3,099, Rs. 3,99,900 against Rs. 3,999, Rs. 4,31,900 against Rs. 4,319 and Rs. 5,57,900 against Rs. 5,579. A stated MRP is the figure a listing prints. The practical consequence is that a 99% badge here is telling you about the strike-through number, not about the product — those five units sell for between Rs. 2,990 and Rs. 5,579, which is ordinary money for an air fryer. Compare selling prices directly.
Not on this shelf, and we checked rather than assuming. A SOLARA badged 69% and a KENT badged 99% sell for exactly the same Rs. 3,099 — the entire 30-point gap lives in the strike-through, where one listing prints Rs. 9,999 and the other Rs. 3,09,900. Likewise an INALSA and a Faber a single rupee apart, at Rs. 2,998 and Rs. 2,999, both read 67%. The pattern that does hold is the opposite of the intuitive one: the dearer, better-known listings here generally carry the shallower badges.
We can report the gap without speculating about the cause. The eight Philips listings in this read have a median badge of 22% and never exceed 43%, against a shelf median of 55.5%. The shallowest badge in the whole read, 19%, is a Philips. They are also the dearest cluster on the shelf, selling from Rs. 4,649 to Rs. 9,399. Their stated MRPs stay under Rs. 13,000 throughout — one Philips listing prints Rs. 9,995 while a Glen on the same shelf prints Rs. 5,57,900, a figure 56 times larger.
An identical rating count across listings is the clearest available sign that they share one review pool. Five KENT air fryer listings here — at Rs. 2,799, Rs. 3,099, Rs. 3,999, Rs. 4,599 and Rs. 5,499, badged anywhere from 54% to 99% — all report 4.0 from exactly 4,528 ratings. That is a 1.96x spread of real money under one identical count. The ordinary and entirely legitimate explanation is that a platform aggregates reviews across capacities, variants or parent listings of one product line. It matters because five listings that look like independently well-reviewed options may rest on the same reviews. We report the figures and assert no particular relationship.
