The useful number is not the price, it is the price per litre - and getting to it means ignoring the model name, because seven listings here state a volume their own title contradicts. Milton's Brim 1000 and Sipstar 1000 both hold a stated 875 ml. Once you divide, the shelf spreads twelve-fold, from Rs. 236 a litre to Rs. 2,906.

Four rules for buying a steel bottle on Amazon
First: read the millilitres, not the model name. Seven of the 22 bottles here carry a series number that their own listing contradicts, and the shortfall runs as high as 125 ml on a bottle called 1000. The volume is almost always printed in the same title - use that one. Second: divide. A Rs. 709 three-pack and a Rs. 465 flask look like a Rs. 244 difference and are actually a twelve-fold difference in what a litre costs, and no listing on this shelf does the arithmetic for you. Third: separate insulation from steel. A single-walled bottle sweats, warms up in an hour and costs Rs. 250 to Rs. 400 a litre; a vacuum wall costs from Rs. 355 a litre at the very best price here and usually much more. Decide which you are buying before comparing prices at all. Fourth: on this category, weight the rating count heavily. The failure modes - a seal that stops sealing, a vacuum that quietly dies, a lid thread that strips - all show up months later, which is exactly what a six-figure rating count captures and a specification list cannot.

Seven of the 22 bottles seated here carry a model number their own listing title contradicts: Handy 850 states 780 ml, Sipstar 1000 states 875 ml, Brim 1000 states 875 ml, Aqua 1000 states 920 ml, Eiffel 1000 states 910 ml, Optima 350 states 340 ml, and Prudent 350 states 360 ml - the only one that runs in the buyer's favour. Every per-litre figure on this page is the selling price divided by the millilitres the seller states, multiplied by the number of bottles in the pack. Where a listing states two different volumes, as one Go24 bottle does, the card says so.
We price multipacks by the litre, not by the box
A set of three is not comparable to a single bottle on price and is directly comparable on rate, which is the whole reason this shelf looks different once you do the division. The Solimo three-pack at Rs. 709 works out at Rs. 236 a litre against Rs. 299 for the cheapest honest single-bottle litre and Rs. 2,906 for the smallest flask. Three listings here ship more than one bottle and all three are stated as such in their titles; none is counted as a single bottle anywhere on this page.
We treat a crossed-out MRP as a claim, never as a saving
Most of this shelf is unusually restrained - Milton's badges run 13 to 37 per cent and its stated MRPs, Rs. 379 to Rs. 1,323, are numbers a shop could charge. Three listings break that pattern: Boldfit claims 75 per cent off Rs. 999 on a Rs. 249 bottle, CULT claims 63 per cent off Rs. 799 on a Rs. 299 one, and the Go24 thermosteel claims 58 per cent off Rs. 1,999. We quote the badge because Amazon displays it and we say plainly which claims the rest of the shelf contradicts.
We read the rating count as a product pool, not a verdict on one colour
Amazon pools ratings across a listing's variations, so a large count describes a family. Our pull returned three near-identical United Colors of Benetton bottles at the same Rs. 349 carrying the same 173 ratings, which is one pool across three listings rather than three independent samples. Where a sample is genuinely large we say so - the Flip Lid 500's 152,670 ratings and the Solimo flask's 30,334 are the two biggest here - and where it is thin, as with CULT's 148 and Benetton's 173, the card says that too.
We do not repeat performance claims we cannot check
Nothing on this page was filled, sealed, dropped or timed. '24 hours hot and cold', three-layer walls, copper coatings, leak-proof lids, ISI and BIS marks and food-grade steel grades are quoted as the sellers' listing claims and identified as such on every card that carries them. No flask here has been temperature-tested by us, and the difference between a good vacuum wall and a poor one is invisible on a product page - which is why the rating counts on the insulated cards are doing more work than the specifications.

The series number is a family label rather than a capacity, and it is not always a rounding down - Prudent 350 states 360 ml. Milton prints the real figure in the same title, so the fix is simply to read the millilitres and ignore the name.
What is the cheapest way to buy a steel water bottle on Amazon?
By the litre, it is a multipack. In this read the Solimo set of three one-litre bottles at Rs. 709 works out at Rs. 236 a litre and the set of two at Rs. 549 at Rs. 275, against Rs. 299 for the cheapest single bottle whose stated volume matches its name (the Milton Comet 1000) and Rs. 249 for the cheapest listing overall, a Boldfit litre bottle. All of those are single-walled, so none of them keeps anything hot or cold.
Why are small vacuum flasks so expensive per litre?
Because the expensive parts of a flask - the double wall, the vacuum, the seal and the lid - cost much the same whatever volume sits between them. In our read the 160 ml Milton Elfin costs Rs. 465, which is Rs. 2,906 a litre, while the Solimo insulated litre at Rs. 659 is Rs. 659 a litre and the 910 ml Milton Eiffel at Rs. 323 is Rs. 355. That is not a reason to buy a litre flask you do not want; it is a reason not to read a small flask's low price as good value.
Are the discounts on Amazon steel bottles real?
Mostly the MRPs on this shelf are restrained, which is unusual. Milton's badges in our read run from 13 per cent to 37 per cent against stated MRPs of Rs. 379 to Rs. 1,323 - numbers a shop could plausibly charge. The exceptions stand out: a Boldfit bottle at Rs. 249 claims 75 per cent off a stated Rs. 999 and a CULT bottle at Rs. 299 claims 63 per cent off Rs. 799, on single-walled bottles that the rest of the shelf prices between Rs. 379 and Rs. 599 at list. Judge those two on the selling price alone.
Is a three-layer or copper-coated flask better?
We cannot tell you from a listing, and neither can anyone else. Three-layer construction, copper coatings, food-grade steel grades and '24 hours hot and cold' are seller claims about a sealed object; nothing on this page was filled, timed or cut open. What is checkable is how many people have lived with one.
