We read 155 distinct Flipkart cable listings on 8 November 2026 and looked at the field most shoppers scroll past: the current rating Flipkart prints in the title. It runs from 1 A to 10 A, and 32 listings state a figure above the 5 A that USB Type-C is specified to carry. 24 listings state a Rs. 999 reference price and sell anywhere from Rs. 139 to Rs. 320. And the deepest reference-price inflation on the shelf belongs to Flipkart's own SmartBuy label, at 9.89 times its selling price, against Apple's 1.12. Nothing here was metered; the figures are Flipkart's own.
Every Flipkart cable tile carries a field most people never read: a current rating, printed between the cable type and the length. On this shelf it runs from 1 A to 10 A. USB Type-C is specified to carry 3 A, and 5 A only on an electronically marked cable — the 100W case, 20 volts at 5 amps. Thirty-two of the 103 listings that publish the field state more than that, and one 10 A listing is a Micro-USB cable, a connector specified at 1.8 A. We read 155 distinct listings on 8 November 2026 and seated 23. Nothing was metered.
Every price below was pulled from Flipkart on November 8, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Flipkart coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Six listings state 10 A, including one Micro-USB cable — a connector specified at 1.8 A. Four of the six state 100W in the same line, which is 20V at 5A.

Flipkart runs bank offers, coupon codes and SuperCoin discounts that change by the day and by card, and this read was made logged out, so none of them is in any price above. Check what your own charger and phone actually negotiate — a cable cannot deliver more than the slowest part of the chain, and paying for a 100W or 240W claim is wasted if the charger in your bag outputs 20W. Read the length before the price: per metre these cables run from Rs. 69.50 to Rs. 1,699, and the cheapest cable on the page is not the cheapest metre on it. Read the rating count before the stars — eight listings here publish no rating at all, and several pairs of differently priced tiles display the identical count. And treat the badge as a statement about the seller's own reference price: the 90% badges on this shelf sit on Flipkart's own label, whose median claim is 9.89 times what it charges.

Each selling price, stated MRP, badge, star average, rating count, length, wattage and current rating was read from flipkart.com's own search results for "data cable", "usb type c cable" and "charging cable" on 8 November 2026, logged out, from India, parsed from the window.__INITIAL_STATE__ payload the pages ship. 212 tiles returned, 155 distinct listings after de-duplicating repeated product ids; 23 are seated.
Flipkart prints a current rating in the tile title between the cable type and the length. It is present on 103 of the 155 distinct listings and runs from 1 A to 10 A. Where this page observes that a figure sits above what the connector standard specifies — 5 A for an electronically marked USB Type-C cable, 1.8 A for USB 2.0 Micro-B — that is a comparison between two published numbers. No cable here was tested, metered or plugged into anything.
Where several listings state the same reference price, or display the same rating count to the unit, they are seated together so the spread between them is visible. 24 listings state Rs. 999 and sell from Rs. 139 to Rs. 320; six Flipkart SmartBuy listings sell at Rs. 192 on one 40,429-rating pool; eight Cellvision listings share a title, a stated Rs. 999 and a photograph across Rs. 102.
Where a title states 1 m, 1.2 m, 1.5 m or 2 m, that length is the seller's own and is divided into the selling price as given. Nothing was measured with a tape. Per-metre prices on this page run from Rs. 69.50 to Rs. 1,699, and the cheapest cable per metre is not the cheapest cable on the page.
A stated MRP is the seller's own reference price and setting one above a selling price is ordinary retail practice. Nothing on this page alleges that any of these figures is false. What it reports is the multiple: Flipkart's own SmartBuy label states a median 9.89 times its selling price across eight listings, while Apple states 1.12 times and Samsung 1.78 times.
In this read, the Ambrane RCM-15 Micro-USB cable at Rs. 109, against a stated Rs. 299 and badged 64%, on 4.2 stars from 13,873 ratings — the cheapest of all 155 distinct listings returned on 8 November 2026 and still one of the better-reviewed cables on the shelf. Per metre the cheapest is the ChargHunt two-metre Type-C cable at Rs. 139, or Rs. 69.50 a metre. Prices were read logged out and Flipkart changes them without notice.
Not according to the connector specifications. USB Type-C is specified to carry 3 A, and 5 A only on an electronically marked cable — that 5 A case is what 100W charging uses, at 20 volts. USB Power Delivery 3.1 reaches 240W by raising the voltage to 48V, not by raising the current. USB 2.0 Micro-B is specified at 1.8 A. Six listings in this read state 10 A, one of them on a Micro-USB cable. Nothing here was metered — this page reports the number Flipkart prints and what the standard says, and nothing more. The 6.5 A figures are the exception that reconciles: OPPO's SuperVOOC runs 10V at 6.5A over its own pins.
Because the badge is calculated from the reference price the seller prints, and on this shelf those are large. 24 listings state Rs. 999 while selling between Rs. 139 and Rs. 320. The deepest badges in the read, 90%, belong to Flipkart's own SmartBuy label, whose median stated MRP is 9.89 times its selling price across eight listings. By contrast Apple states 1.12 times and badges 11%, and Samsung states 1.78 times and badges 44%. A deeper badge on this shelf tracks the size of the claim, not the size of the saving.
Only if a charger and a device at either end actually negotiate it — a cable cannot deliver more than the slowest part of the chain. This page does not test charging speed and nothing here was plugged in. What the read does show is that the wattage printed on a tile is not priced consistently: a SmartBuy cable stating 100W costs Rs. 192, a Portronics stating 240W costs Rs. 279, and an Apple cable stating no wattage at all costs Rs. 1,699. Check what your own charger outputs before paying for a number above it.
Because one product is frequently listed several times. Eight listings in this read read as "Cellvision USB Type C Cable 1 m" followed only by an internal code, all stating Rs. 999, selling from Rs. 183 to Rs. 285, none publishing a rating — and all eight serving byte-for-byte the same photograph. The same pattern appears with shared review pools: six SmartBuy listings at Rs. 192 display the identical 40,429 ratings, and two Portronics listings Rs. 30 apart display the identical 56,114. The rating count is the most reliable field for spotting it.
