We read Amazon's nail polish listings on 21 September 2026 and seated the 24 that print a bottle size in their own titles. Those sizes run from six millilitres to fifteen, and once you divide by them the shelf reorders itself: an eighty-eight rupee Lakme bottle costs Rs. 14.67 a millilitre while a ninety-nine rupee Colors Queen bottle costs Rs. 7.62, and the range from cheapest to dearest is 7.1 times. Lakme alone spans 2.7 times across nine listings, and two of its bottles differ only in the shade printed on the label.

The rates here run from Rs. 6.00 to Rs. 42.47 a millilitre, a 7.1x spread, and the order is nothing like the order of the sticker prices. Third: do not treat a brand as a price. Lakme's nine listings in this read span Rs. 14.67 to Rs. 39.00 a millilitre, so 'buy Lakme' settles nothing; and two of its bottles are the same line, edition and size at Rs. 216 and Rs. 234, separated only by shade. Every selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, rating average and rating count on this page was read on 21 September 2026 from amazon.in's own search results for nail polish, nail paint, mascara and eyeliner, logged out, in India. 122 listings returned a price, an MRP and a rating count; the 49 nail polish and nail paint listings were the working set and the 24 that state a bottle size in millilitres are seated.
Bottle size read from the listing title
Every seated listing prints its volume in millilitres in its own title, and those volumes run from 6 ml to 15 ml. Because a Rs. 88 bottle and a Rs. 99 bottle can hold six and thirteen millilitres, the sticker prices are not comparable, so every card states the price per millilitre - our own arithmetic over the price and the volume the listing states.
Listings without a stated volume left out
Twenty-five nail polish listings in the pull do not print a millilitre figure in the title - multi-shade sets, art pens and removers. We left them out rather than estimate a volume, because a per-millilitre figure derived from a guess would be worse than no figure at all.
Shade-level price differences reported as such
Two Lakme 9 to 5 Overtime Shine bottles here are the same line, the same edition and the same 6 ml, and cost Rs. 216 and Rs. 234 - the shade sets the price. Two HYUE chrome shades are both Rs. 275 and share one rating count. We say so on each card; sellers price shades independently and nothing is alleged.
The badge read as arithmetic over two numbers
A discount percentage is the gap between a price and an MRP the seller states. Faces at Rs. 84 has 23,760 ratings at 4.1 and costs Rs. 10.50 a millilitre.
Are the discounts on Amazon nail polish real?
A badge is arithmetic over two numbers the seller chose, and this shelf is unusual in that most of its badges are small. The median in our read is 28 per cent and several listings print almost nothing - VERYMISS at 1 per cent off Rs. 110, Lakme Absolute at 3 per cent off Rs. 350, Swiss Beauty at 4 per cent. The exception is stark: THR3E STROKES prices an 8 ml polish at Rs. 298 against a stated MRP of Rs. 2,999, a multiple of 10.06, and the same seller lists a remover at Rs. 199 against a stated Rs. 9,950. Stating a high MRP is legal and commonplace and we allege nothing; but that 90 per cent badge sits on one of the dearer polishes here at Rs. 37.25 a millilitre.
