Every Flipkart geyser listing states its capacity. None states a rate. Divide, and the cheapest tile on the shelf turns out to sell nearly the dearest water.
We read 71 water geyser listings from Flipkart's own search data on 27 October 2026 and divided each by the tank capacity its own title states. The shelf runs Rs. 129 to Rs. 1,886 a litre - a 14.6x spread - while the sticker prices only run Rs. 898 to Rs. 7,999. The cheapest listing on the shelf carries the deepest discount badge in the read and sells water at seven times the rate of the cheapest tank. Four rating pools are shared across different capacities, and one 10-litre unit appears twice at Rs. 100 apart with the same photograph. Flipkart prints the capacity and the badge; it does not print the rate.
Every price below was pulled from Flipkart on October 27, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Flipkart coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Six listings from the cheapest per-litre end of the read. Every one of them is a large tank, four of the six cost more than Rs. 3,000, and all six are badged at or below the shelf median.
Rs. 4,499 for 35 litres — Rs. 129 a litre, badged 51%
Why it earned its spot it is the cheapest per litre of all 71 listings by a clear margin, and every other figure on this page is measured against it.
Rs. 3,999 for 25 litres — Rs. 160 a litre, badged 47%
Why it earned its spot it is the second-cheapest per litre and it costs less in absolute money than nine listings that hold a fraction as much.
Rs. 6,299 for 25 litres — Rs. 252 a litre, badged 44%
Why it earned its spot it is the cheapest per litre among the listings from widely stocked brands, which is a different and more practical question than the shelf floor.
Rs. 6,699 for 25 litres — Rs. 268 a litre, badged 55%
Why it earned its spot it is the fourth-cheapest per litre and its listing bundles accessories, which is the sort of thing a per-litre figure alone will not tell you.
Rs. 3,024 for 10 litres — Rs. 302 a litre, badged 53%
Why it earned its spot a retailer's own-brand tile is the natural price reference for a category, and here it lands mid-table per litre rather than at the bottom.
Rs. 2,899 for 10 litres — Rs. 290 a litre, badged 55%
Why it earned its spot it is the clearest duplicate on the shelf: one 10-litre unit at two prices, with the same MRP, the same rating count and the same photograph.
Four rating pools, seven tiles. Orient's Cronos Pro reports 17,906 on its 10 L, 15 L and 25 L alike; Crompton reports 49,588 on two sizes; Longway reports 24,074 on a 10 L and a 35 L. In every pair the bigger tank is the cheaper litre.
Rs. 5,399 for 15 litres — Rs. 360 a litre, badged 47%
Why it earned its spot it opens the rating-pool finding, which is the second thing this shelf hides behind a number that looks like evidence.
Rs. 5,199 for 10 litres — Rs. 520 a litre, badged 44%
Why it earned its spot it completes the three-capacity set so the shared count can be read off the cards rather than taken on trust, and it is the dearest per litre of the three.
Rs. 3,099 for 10 litres — Rs. 310 a litre, badged 53%
Why it earned its spot it is the second rating pool in the read and the gap between the two capacities sharing it is the widest on the shelf.
Rs. 5,899 for 15 litres — Rs. 393 a litre, badged 43%
Why it earned its spot it carries the biggest rating count on the shelf, which is the number most likely to settle a purchase, and it is shared.
Rs. 5,499 for 10 litres — Rs. 550 a litre, badged 40%
Why it earned its spot it is the dearest per litre of the two tiles sharing the shelf's largest rating pool, which makes the pairing worth seeing side by side.
Rs. 2,199 for 3 litres — Rs. 733 a litre, badged 60%
Why it earned its spot it is the fourth shared pool and the only one that spans an instant unit and a larger instant unit from the same maker.
Rs. 3,099 for 5.5 litres — Rs. 563 a litre, badged 53%
Why it earned its spot it closes the fourth pool and shows that within one maker the larger unit is the cheaper water, which the shared rating count cannot tell you.
The most expensive tile on the shelf, which is mid-table per litre; the cheapest tile, which carries the deepest badge and nearly the dearest water; the Rs. 1,886-a-litre ceiling at a 25% badge; and the twelve-tile Rs. 1,999 MRP cluster.
Rs. 7,999 for 25 litres — Rs. 320 a litre, badged 39%
Why it earned its spot at Rs. 7,999 it is the top of the price range, and per litre it beats 40 of the 71 listings, which is the inversion this page exists to show.
Rs. 898 for 1 litres — Rs. 898 a litre, badged 69%
Why it earned its spot it is the lowest price on the shelf and carries the deepest badge, and both of those facts point away from what it costs per litre.
Rs. 1,886 for 1 litres — Rs. 1,886 a litre, badged 25%
Why it earned its spot it is the ceiling of the per-litre range and it carries one of the smallest badges in the read, so it closes the badge argument from the other end.
Rs. 1,398 for 1 litres — Rs. 1,398 a litre, badged 53%
Why it earned its spot it sits in the dearest quarter per litre on a median badge with no published rating at all, which is the combination worth flagging.
Rs. 1,388 for 1 litres — Rs. 1,388 a litre, badged 29%
Why it earned its spot it is cheaper than pick 17 by Rs. 10 and carries a badge 24 points smaller, which is the badge-versus-price relationship inverted inside ten rupees.
Rs. 1,191 for 1 litres — Rs. 1,191 a litre, badged 17%
Why it earned its spot 17% is the floor of the badge range and it sits on a one-litre unit that is cheaper than five listings carrying badges three times as deep.
Rs. 1,199 for 1 litres — Rs. 1,199 a litre, badged 40%
Why it earned its spot twelve listings in the read state the same Rs. 1,999 MRP, which makes it the shelf's default reference price rather than any particular product's.
Rs. 2,899 for 3 litres — Rs. 966 a litre, badged 47%
Why it earned its spot it is the second-largest rating count in the read and, unlike the shared pools above, it is not duplicated across capacities.
First, decide the capacity before you look at a price - an instant one-litre unit and a 35-litre storage tank are not competing products, and comparing their badges is meaningless. Second, within a capacity, divide. On this shelf the sticker price and the per-litre price rank the listings in close to opposite orders. Third, treat a shared rating count as one pool. Three tiles here report 17,906 ratings between them; that is one body of feedback, not three. Fourth, scroll for a duplicate tile - one unit in this read is listed at Rs. 2,899 and Rs. 2,999 with the same photograph, and the cheaper one was not ranked first. Installation is a wired job for a qualified electrician, and the listing price rarely includes it. Prices change without notice - check the live listing before buying.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count on this page came from the product data flipkart.com itself serves, read on 27 October 2026, logged out, from India, with nothing bought. The queries were "water geyser" and "instant water heater", returning 71 listings. Every median, range and count quoted is computed over all 71, not over the 21 seated here.
Every per-litre figure on this page is the selling price divided by the litre figure in the product's own title - "35 L", "3 L", "1 Litre". All 71 listings in this read state a capacity, so none had to be estimated. Capacity is tank volume, not hot water delivered per hour, and we have not measured either; a one-litre instant unit and a 35-litre storage tank do different jobs, which the per-litre figure does not and cannot capture.
Where several tiles report the same rating count we say so and explain that ratings pool at the product family rather than the individual capacity. This is ordinary marketplace behaviour and nothing here alleges wrongdoing by Flipkart or by any brand. What it means for a shopper is narrow and practical: a count on a 10-litre tile may be reporting on a 35-litre unit.
Two pairs in this read share a byte-identical listing photograph: one brand's 10-litre unit at Rs. 2,899 and Rs. 2,999 with the same stated MRP and the same 5,557 ratings, and a 15 L / 25 L pair from another brand. Only one tile of each pair is on this page, and we state the other's price rather than hiding it. We have not handled either unit and make no claim that the goods are identical.
This is a price read. No geyser has been bought, delivered, installed, switched on or measured, and no claim is made about heating speed, insulation, tank material, pressure rating, electrical safety, warranty service or running cost. A water heater is a wired appliance and should be installed by a qualified electrician. "5 Star BEE", "High Grade SS Tank" and "Shock Proof" are the listings' own words, reproduced and not verified.
Across 71 water geyser listings read on 27 October 2026 from Flipkart's own search data, prices ran Rs. 898 to Rs. 7,999 with a median of Rs. 1,886. Read per litre of tank capacity - which every listing states and none prints as a rate - the same shelf runs Rs. 129 to Rs. 1,886 a litre. The cheapest litre was a Rs. 4,499 35-litre tank; the dearest was a Rs. 1,886 one-litre unit.
In this read, consistently yes. Every one of the six cheapest listings per litre is 10 litres or larger, and every one-litre unit on the shelf is in the dearest third. Within the four cases where two capacities from one maker share a rating pool, the larger tank was the cheaper litre every time - for example Rs. 252 a litre on a 25 L against Rs. 520 on the 10 L of the same range. That does not make the big tank the right buy: an instant unit and a storage tank do different jobs and install differently.
Because ratings pool at the product family rather than at the individual capacity. In this read, one range reported 17,906 ratings on its 10 L, 15 L and 25 L tiles alike; another reported 49,588 on two sizes; a third reported 24,074 on a 10 L and a 35 L. The count is real and published - it is simply not a count of people who bought the size you are looking at.
Not on this shelf. The deepest badge in the read, 69%, is on the Rs. 898 one-litre unit, which works out at Rs. 898 a litre - nearly seven times the Rs. 129 a litre of a 51%-badged 35-litre tank. The most expensive listing of all 71, at Rs. 7,999, carries a 39% badge and is cheaper per litre than 40 of them. Twelve listings state exactly Rs. 1,999 as their MRP, which is what produces most of the badge range at the cheap end. We report stated MRPs as published figures and allege nothing about them.
In this read, yes - at least once. One brand's 10-litre unit appears at Rs. 2,899 and at Rs. 2,999, against the same stated MRP of Rs. 6,490, reporting the same 5,557 ratings, using a byte-identical listing photograph. A 15 L and a 25 L from a second brand also share one image. We have not handled any of them and do not claim the goods are identical; the published numbers and the photographs are. It is worth scrolling for a second tile of the same unit before buying the first one.
