GoDaddy does not process your data alone. It contracts other companies to do parts of the job, and it publishes the complete list of who they are. We read it on 23 October 2026: 27 companies.
Sixteen of the 27 are incorporated in the United States, and none is incorporated in India. OpenAI, L.L.C. is on the list, alongside Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and Stripe. And there is a procedural reason to keep the page bookmarked rather than just read it once: GoDaddy's own Data Processing Addendum says a new subprocessor can be notified to you simply by updating this list, and that thirty days of silence counts as your acceptance.
📅 Update log:
23 Oct 2026: first published. All 27 subprocessors, countries of incorporation and service descriptions read from GoDaddy's published table at godaddy.com/en-in/legal/agreements/subprocessor-list on 23 October 2026, from India, logged out. Country counts are our own tally of that table on that date. The list is live and GoDaddy changes it; re-check before relying on these counts.
What a subprocessor is, and why this list is the one to bookmark
When you run a site, store or mailbox on GoDaddy, GoDaddy does not do all of the processing itself. It contracts other companies — subprocessors — to handle parts of it: the cloud that stores your files, the network that carries the traffic, the processor that takes your customers' card payments, the service that sends an SMS.
GoDaddy publishes the full list, and we read it on 23 October 2026 from its India site. It names 27 companies, each with its country of incorporation, what it does, and the categories of data it touches.
There is a specific reason to bookmark this page rather than just read it. GoDaddy's Data Processing Addendum says notice of a new subprocessor "may be provided by updating the Subprocessor list" — and that if you do not object within 30 days, you are "deemed to have accepted". The list is not a disclosure. It is the notice.
Where the 27 companies are incorporated
| Country of incorporation | Companies | Who they are |
|---|
| United States of America | 16 | AWS, Cloudflare, Stripe, Twilio, Plivo, OpenAI, cPanel, Automattic, American Express, Juniper, LivePerson, DomainsByProxy, Starfield, Sucuri, GoDaddy Payments, GoDaddy Sellbrite |
| Switzerland | 2 | Acronis International (customer back-ups), Plesk International |
| France | 2 | Datadock SARL, OVH Groupe SAS |
| Germany | 1 | DENIC eG (.de domain registry) |
| Netherlands | 1 | Equinix Netherlands BV (data centre colocation) |
| Belgium | 1 | EURid vzw (.eu domain registry) |
| Ukraine | 1 | LvivIT — "Providing operational platform support" |
| Canada | 1 | Rhubarb Tech Inc (Redis Cache Pro) |
| Cayman Islands | 1 | Titan Solution Ltd SEZC — "Provisioning of mailbox product" |
| UK / Germany / USA (listed together) | 1 | Cisco International Limited, Cisco Solutions GmbH, Cisco Systems Inc |
| India | 0 | No subprocessor on this list is incorporated in India |
A fair caveat on that table. Country of incorporation is not the same as where your data physically sits — the same list names data-centre colocation in France, Germany and the Netherlands, and a US-incorporated company can hold data in Europe. The table above answers "who is contractually permitted to process this data", not "where is it stored".
Eight entries worth reading closely
| Subprocessor | Incorporated | What GoDaddy says it does | Why it is worth knowing |
|---|
| OpenAI, L.L.C. | United States | "Create product content, Generating and searching…" | An AI company named in the same table as the payment processors |
| Acronis International GmbH | Switzerland | "Customer back-ups" | Backup snapshots — and the DPA separately says GoDaddy is not responsible for backing up your data |
| Amazon Web Services | United States | Cloud data centre and network provider | "Customer hosted data including but not limited to websites, applications, and data from the customer's customer(s)" |
| Cloudflare Inc | United States | CDN, WAF and SSL for Managed WordPress | "Website traffic inspection. Metadata of IP addresses, timestamps, and network traffic" |
| LvivIT | Ukraine | "Providing operational platform support" | Operational support access, from a jurisdiction most customers would not expect |
| Titan Solution Ltd SEZC | Cayman Islands | "Provisioning of mailbox product" | If you use GoDaddy email, this is who provisions it |
| Stripe, Inc. and American Express | United States | Payment processing within the Commerce product | "End-user payment data and transaction data" — your customers' card data |
| Plivo, Inc. | United States | "Provides SMS messaging function for notifications" | Phone numbers leave the platform for SMS delivery |
The Acronis row is worth holding next to the DPA. Acronis is listed for "Customer back-ups", while the Data Processing Addendum states that "GoDaddy is not responsible for backing up Customer Personal Data". Both are true at once: backup is a subprocessed paid product you can buy, not a baseline duty you already have. If you have not bought it, the DPA sentence is the one that applies to you.

What to do with this
- If you process other people's personal data on GoDaddy, read the Categories of Data column, not just the names. Several rows cover "customer hosted data including… data from the customer's customer(s)" — your users, not you.
- Diarise a check of this page. Thirty days of silence is acceptance of a new subprocessor, and the notice can be this page changing.
- Know which remedy you actually have. If you object to a new subprocessor and GoDaddy cannot resolve it in 30 days, the DPA's answer is termination — not removal of the subprocessor.
- Do not read incorporation as location. If data residency is a requirement for you, the question to ask GoDaddy is where the data sits, which this list only partly answers.
What this page does not tell you
This is a reading of a published list, on one date. Every company name, country and service description above was read from GoDaddy's own subprocessor list at godaddy.com/en-in/legal/agreements/subprocessor-list on 23 October 2026, from India, logged out. Nothing was purchased, no account was opened and GoDaddy was not contacted. The list can change at any time — by GoDaddy's own account, changing it is how notice is given — so treat the counts here as a snapshot of that date and check the live page before relying on them.
We cannot tell you which subprocessors apply to your account. The list is published for all of GoDaddy's services. Whether OpenAI, Plivo or Stripe ever touches your particular data depends on which products you use, and the list does not map companies to products. We have not asked GoDaddy, and we have not inferred it.
Nothing here says GoDaddy's arrangements are improper or unusual. Publishing a complete subprocessor list with countries and data categories is more transparency than many providers offer, naming an AI subprocessor openly is more again, and GoDaddy expressly accepts liability for its subprocessors and their subprocessors. A concentration of US-incorporated vendors is the ordinary shape of the global hosting industry, not a finding about GoDaddy specifically. Our purpose is to put the list in front of an Indian reader with the counts done.
And this is not legal advice. We are not lawyers. If data residency or DPDP compliance is a live question for your business, take your own advice on your own facts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who are GoDaddy's subprocessors and how many are there?
Twenty-seven companies, on GoDaddy's own published list read on 23 October 2026. They include the infrastructure you would expect — Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare, cPanel, Equinix, OVH — the payment layer (Stripe, American Express, GoDaddy Payments), the domain registries for .de and .eu (DENIC, EURid), Acronis for customer backups, Automattic for Akismet spam protection, Plivo for SMS, Sucuri for website security, and OpenAI, L.L.C. A subprocessor is a company GoDaddy contracts to process data on its behalf, and each row on the list names the categories of data it handles. Several of them handle "customer hosted data including… data from the customer's customer(s)" — that is, your users' data, not just yours.
Are any of GoDaddy's subprocessors based in India?
None of the 27 is incorporated in India, on the list as published on 23 October 2026. By country of incorporation the list runs: United States 16, Switzerland 2, France 2, Germany 1, Netherlands 1, Belgium 1, Ukraine 1, Canada 1, Cayman Islands 1, and Cisco listed jointly across the UK, Germany and the USA. Country of incorporation is not the same as where data is stored — the list separately names data-centre locations in France, Germany and the Netherlands, and a company incorporated in one country can hold data in another. But if you are an Indian business asking who can lawfully touch your customers' data under this contract, the honest answer is that the answer is a list of mostly American companies, and GoDaddy's Data Processing Addendum separately does not mention India or the DPDP Act at all.
Does GoDaddy use AI companies to process customer data?
OpenAI, L.L.C. is named on the subprocessor list, incorporated in the United States, with its service described as "Create product content, Generating and searching…". It appears in the same table, under the same contractual regime, as the payment processors and data centres. What the list does not tell you is which GoDaddy products route data to it, or whether your own account is affected — the Categories of Data column is brief and we are not going to read more into it than it says. GoDaddy publishes a separate AI Terms of Use covering its AI features. Naming an AI subprocessor openly on the list is more disclosure than many providers give, and that is worth saying plainly.
How will I know if GoDaddy adds a new subprocessor?
You may have to notice the webpage changing. GoDaddy's Data Processing Addendum says it "will exercise reasonable efforts to notify Customer in writing at least sixty (60) days in advance" of appointing a new subprocessor — but it also says, in terms, that "Notice of a new Subprocessor may be provided by updating the Subprocessor list". This page is therefore the notice mechanism. The window that follows matters: you have 30 days to object, and "If Customer does not object… within thirty (30) days… Customer will be deemed to have accepted". If you object and it is not resolved within a further 30 days, your remedy is to terminate. If subprocessor changes affect your compliance position, checking this page on a schedule is a task somebody has to own.
Is GoDaddy responsible if a subprocessor leaks my data?
Yes — the DPA says so explicitly, and that is one of the more customer-favourable clauses in it. "GoDaddy is liable for its Subprocessors' acts and omissions, including any acts or omissions of its Subprocessors' subprocessors." Before transferring any data, GoDaddy must enter a written agreement with the subprocessor that is "at least as protective of Customer Data as this DPA" and conduct due diligence on its ability to comply. Set against that, the same document gives you no right to audit GoDaddy or its subprocessors, and sets no fixed deadline for breach notification beyond what your law requires. Liability is accepted; verification is not offered.

Every company name, country of incorporation, service description and data category on this page was read from GoDaddy's own published subprocessor list at godaddy.com/en-in/legal/agreements/subprocessor-list on 23 October 2026, from India, as a logged-out visitor. The country counts are our own tally of that table on that date. Nothing was purchased, no account was opened and GoDaddy was not contacted. The list is live and GoDaddy amends it - by its own Data Processing Addendum, amending it is how notice of a new subprocessor may be given - so these counts are a snapshot, not a standing fact. Country of incorporation is not the same as the location where data is stored, and this page does not claim otherwise. We cannot say which subprocessors apply to any particular account, because the list is published for all GoDaddy services and does not map companies to products; we have not asked GoDaddy and have not inferred it. Nothing here asserts that GoDaddy's arrangements are improper, unusual or non-compliant - publishing a full list with countries and data categories is more disclosure than many providers offer, GoDaddy expressly accepts liability for its subprocessors and their subprocessors, and a concentration of US-incorporated vendors is the ordinary shape of this industry. This page is not legal advice and not a compliance opinion. Zoutons may earn a commission on purchases made through links on this page, which never affects what we report.
