Juttis and mojaris sold in India — a black embroidered men's jutti from AJIO with mojari flats and an embellished pair from Myntra — arranged as a colour-block layout, on this page comparing AJIO and Myntra jutti prices

Myntra's median jutti costs Rs. 701 and AJIO's Rs. 809 — but on the two brands both shelves carry, AJIO is Rs. 170 and Rs. 107 cheaper off identical stated MRPs.

We read both on 18 September 2026, 169 listings in all. Below: the specification neither shelf will give you, what each charges when it does admit to leather, the two brands selling in both places, and the difference no discount closes.

📅 Update log:
18 Sep 2026 — first published. AJIO's 78 listings came from its own search response for juttis women, mojari men and ethnic footwear; Myntra's 91 came from its jutti-mojari, women-ethnic-footwear and men-ethnic-footwear listing pages, parsed from the page's own product JSON. Both were read on 18 September 2026 as a logged-out visitor with nothing purchased. The tallies of listings naming leather, synthetic or nothing are ours, taken from the product titles each retailer returned. Both retailers re-rank and re-price without notice, so we re-read both shelves and log what has changed here.

Neither shelf will tell you what the shoe is made of

A jutti is its upper. Leather stretches to the shape of your foot over three or four wearings and softens for years; a synthetic upper never stretches, hurts in the same place forever, and cracks at the flex line across the toe. It is the single specification that decides what you have bought.

AJIO names a material on 12 of its 78 listings — four say leather, eight say synthetic or faux leather. Myntra names leather on 14 of its 91 and never once names a synthetic upper, on any listing, at any price. So 66 of AJIO's listings and 77 of Myntra's are silent, and Myntra's silence is one-sided: it will tell you when a shoe is leather and never when it is not.

That asymmetry is the most practical thing on this page. On Myntra, the absence of the word leather is itself information, because the shelf uses it freely when it applies — on 14 listings from Rs. 651 upward. On AJIO the word appears four times in seventy-eight, so its absence tells you much less.

Cheaper leather on Myntra, quieter badges on AJIO

Where each shelf does declare leather, they behave in opposite ways. AJIO's four stated-leather listings claim a median 54.5 per cent and start at Rs. 764 — a Catbird men's jutti at a 49 per cent badge against a plausible stated Rs. 1,499. Myntra's fourteen claim a median 71 per cent and start at Rs. 651, with stated MRPs of Rs. 2,999 and Rs. 3,999 behind 78 and 79 per cent badges.

So Myntra gives you more leather, sooner, for less money — and wraps it in the kind of four-figure stated MRP that AJIO's leather listings mostly avoid. If you are buying on the material, Myntra is the better shelf. If you are buying on the credibility of the crossed-out number, AJIO's is.

One Myntra listing sits outside that pattern and is worth naming: Mochi, at Rs. 895 against a stated Rs. 1,990, a 55 per cent badge, with 4.4 from 1,625 ratings. Mochi runs its own stores across India, which is why its stated MRP is Rs. 1,990 rather than Rs. 3,999, and it is the only listing across both shelves that pairs a declared leather upper, a believable MRP and a four-figure rating count.

Only one shelf admits to synthetic. Eight AJIO listings state a synthetic or faux-leather upper, from a JM LOOKS jutti at Rs. 479 to a G L TREND men's slip-on at Rs. 870. Myntra states it on none of its 91. That does not mean Myntra sells no synthetic juttis — at Rs. 326 it plainly does. It means the shelf does not say so.

Two brands sell on both shelves, and AJIO is cheaper on both

Only two brands in our read appear on both sides: JM LOOKS and Shoetopia. Both state the identical MRP in both places, which makes the comparison clean.

JM LOOKS states Rs. 1,995 on both shelves and sells its cheapest jutti at Rs. 479 on AJIO against Rs. 649 on Myntra — AJIO Rs. 170 cheaper, a 26 per cent gap. Shoetopia states Rs. 1,999 on both and sells at Rs. 580 against Rs. 687, AJIO Rs. 107 cheaper. The badges differ only because the prices do.

There is a trade inside that. AJIO's cheaper JM LOOKS listing is the one that says 'with Synthetic upper' in its title; Myntra's dearer one says nothing about the material but publishes 4.4 from 179 ratings. Two shelves, one brand, one stated MRP: one tells you what it is, the other tells you whether people liked it, and neither does both.

One shelf publishes ratings. The other publishes none

Fifty-nine of Myntra's 91 ethnic footwear listings carry a star rating and a count, and several carry serious volume: 4,835 ratings on a DUOSOFT women's mojari selling at Rs. 404, 2,631 on a House of Pataudi men's pair at Rs. 1,291, 1,626 on a Picktoes open-toe flat at Rs. 492.

None of AJIO's 78 listings carries either. AJIO's own search data returns null on both fields for every ethnic footwear listing we read, which is how that shelf behaves rather than a gap in our reading. It is an observation about listing data and not a statement about the products.

Myntra's counts come with their own caveat. The platform pools feedback across a style family, and our read caught it twice in this category: two Mochi listings at Rs. 895 and Rs. 995 both publish 4.4 from exactly 1,625, and two CHINRAAG mojaris at Rs. 495 and Rs. 498 both publish 4.4 from exactly 1,232. An identical count to the digit is one pool, not two verdicts — so check both prices, because on the Mochi pair that is Rs. 100 for the same published evidence.

Buy leather slightly snug and synthetic in your true size. Leather gives across the width over the first few wearings, which is why traditional juttis are sold tight; a synthetic upper does not give at all. On a shelf where neither retailer publishes a width fitting and only one publishes any feedback, that single habit prevents most of the returns in this category.
How this page was read, and what it does not tell you

Both shelves were read on 18 September 2026 as served to a logged-out visitor in India, with nothing purchased and no account used. The AJIO side is 78 listings from ajio.com's own search response for the queries “juttis women”, “mojari men” and “ethnic footwear”. The Myntra side is 91 listings from myntra.com's jutti-mojari, women-ethnic-footwear and men-ethnic-footwear listing pages, parsed from the page's own embedded product JSON. Every selling price, stated maximum retail price, star rating and rating count is the retailer's own published figure reproduced without adjustment.

The counts of listings stating leather, synthetic or nothing are our own tally of the product titles each retailer returned, and a seller may describe materials elsewhere on a product page that our pull did not read — so “names no material” means the listing title we read named none, not that the information exists nowhere. Medians, counts and the matching of brands across shelves are also ours. These are two samples of two much larger catalogues, taken once, from result sets both retailers rank and re-rank continuously, and the shelves are not stocked alike, so median comparisons describe these samples rather than either retailer's pricing policy. Prices change without notice; coupon codes, bank card offers, minimum-cart thresholds, delivery charges and anything applied at checkout are not visible in listing data and can move your final price in either direction at either retailer, and the prices and terms shown at your checkout prevail over anything here.

We cannot verify whether any stated maximum retail price was ever a live selling price and make no claim either way; no wrongdoing by AJIO, by Myntra, or by Catbird, TEAKWOOD LEATHERS, Mochi, House of Pataudi, ROYAL KHWAAB, LMG Lifestyle, DUOSOFT, CHINRAAG, Picktoes, JM LOOKS, Shoetopia or any other brand named here is alleged or implied, and displaying a stated MRP is lawful. Ratings and rating counts are Myntra's own figures reproduced without auditing them, and Myntra pools them across a style family so an identical count on two listings is one pool rather than two verdicts; a shelf publishing no ratings is an observation about listing data, not a statement about product quality. Nothing here is a judgement of hide quality, stitching, sole construction, comfort or fit: no footwear was bought, worn, flexed or tested by us, every material and construction claim quoted is the seller's own listing text, and a discount percentage is not a recommendation to buy.

The short version

Read on 18 September 2026, Myntra is the cheaper shelf at the median — Rs. 701 against AJIO's Rs. 809 — and has far more under Rs. 1,000, 79 of 91 against 53 of 78. AJIO has the lower floor at Rs. 252 and the higher ceiling at Rs. 2,720.

Neither shelf names the upper material on most listings: 66 of AJIO's 78 and 77 of Myntra's 91 say nothing. Myntra names leather on 14 listings from Rs. 651 and never names a synthetic; AJIO names leather on four from Rs. 764 and synthetic on eight.

Fifty-nine of Myntra's 91 listings publish a rating. None of AJIO's 78 do. On the two brands both shelves carry, AJIO is Rs. 170 and Rs. 107 cheaper off identical stated MRPs. Cheaper on AJIO, better described and better evidenced on Myntra.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AJIO or Myntra cheaper for juttis and mojaris in September 2026?
It depends where you look. At the median, Myntra is cheaper: Rs. 701 against AJIO's Rs. 809, and 79 of Myntra's 91 listings sell under Rs. 1,000 against 53 of AJIO's 78. At the floor, AJIO wins — Rs. 252 against Rs. 326. But on the only two brands both shelves carry, AJIO is clearly cheaper: JM LOOKS is Rs. 479 on AJIO against Rs. 649 on Myntra and Shoetopia Rs. 580 against Rs. 687, both off identical stated MRPs. Checkout offers at either retailer can change what you finally pay.
How do I tell whether a jutti is real leather before buying?
Read the product title, and treat silence as a no. In our 18 September 2026 read, AJIO named a material on 12 of 78 listings and Myntra on 14 of 91. Myntra's silence is the more readable of the two because it uses the word leather freely when it applies — on 14 listings starting at Rs. 651 — and never once states a synthetic upper on any of its 91. AJIO states synthetic or faux leather on eight listings, so it will sometimes tell you outright. A seller may describe the material further down a product page that our pull did not read, so check the full listing before ordering.
Do AJIO ethnic footwear listings have customer ratings?
No. In this read none of AJIO's 78 jutti, mojari and ethnic footwear listings carried a star rating or a rating count — AJIO's own search data returns null on both fields for every one, which is how that shelf behaves rather than a gap in our reading. Myntra published ratings on 59 of its 91, including 4,835 on a Rs. 404 DUOSOFT mojari and 2,631 on a House of Pataudi men's pair. Note that Myntra pools counts across a style family: two Mochi listings at Rs. 895 and Rs. 995 both publish 4.4 from exactly 1,625, so that is one pool and Rs. 100 of difference.
Which shelf has better leather juttis?
Myntra, on price and availability; AJIO, on the credibility of the crossed-out number. Myntra names leather on 14 listings starting at Rs. 651 but its stated-leather badges run to 79 per cent against MRPs of Rs. 2,999 and Rs. 3,999. AJIO names it on four, starting at Rs. 764, at a median badge of 54.5 per cent against plausible MRPs of Rs. 1,499 and Rs. 1,599. The single best listing across both shelves is arguably Mochi on Myntra at Rs. 895: a declared leather upper, a 55 per cent badge off a believable Rs. 1,990, from a chain with its own stores, carrying 4.4 from 1,625 ratings.
What is the difference between a jutti and a mojari?
They are closely related traditional Indian slip-ons and both shelves use the words loosely. A jutti is the flat, closed-toe embroidered slipper associated with Punjab; traditional pairs have no left-right distinction and are worn in until they take the shape of each foot. A mojari is the broader north Indian and Rajasthani form, usually with a slightly more structured sole, and a nagra is the men's version with an upturned toe. In our read the same shoe appeared under all three words depending on the seller, and none of the three terms tells you what the upper is made of.
