Rs. 989Rs. 5,49982% off

“Three HERE&NOW kurtas of different cuts, at different prices, from different stated MRPs, all publish 10,251 ratings at 4.4. That is one piece of evidence, not three.” Zoutons Editorial Team

Five rules for buying men's ethnic wear online

First: before you compare two listings on their rating counts, check whether those counts are identical, because twenty of the 72 rated rows here share a number with another row and two listings showing one count are one piece of evidence. Second: read the badge as a brand signature - one label files 22 rows at a median 76.5 per cent while three brands here never clear half off - which is the same brand-tier pattern we found across the shirt and t-shirt wall. Third: buy the set rather than the pieces, because a kurta with matching pyjamas or a churidar removes the one thing most likely to go wrong, and the best-evidenced complete outfit here costs Rs. 989. Fourth: let the decorative treatment decide the wash - sequins inside out in a bag, zari dry-cleaned only, thread work in an ordinary cycle. Fifth: check the fabric against the month, since the pure wool Nehru jacket seated here is a November garment being sold in August, the same seasonal mismatch we flagged on the saree wall.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: 80 of the 103 rows. The largest single group was the shared-count families the page describes - a further HERE&NOW listing publishing the same 10,251 ratings, a second showing 7,632, the twin Jompers kurta-and-salwar set at an identical Rs. 781 with the same 3,804 votes, the second Vastraa Fusion wool jacket at Rs. 1,084 with the same 1,688, and the second Jompers Nehru jacket at Rs. 824 with the same 1,176 - each of which the seated representative establishes completely. We also left out eleven further House of Pataudi rows between Rs. 1,289 and Rs. 1,972 that repeat the label's 66 per cent median without adding to it, three of them sharing an identical 468 ratings; sixteen more Jompers listings between Rs. 474 and Rs. 1,891 at 62 to 82 per cent; two more Ethnic Bay rows at an identical Rs. 1,755 and 41 per cent; two more MAITHILI CREATION rows at an identical Rs. 1,852 and 38 per cent; four TRENDS OF ETHNIC Nehru jackets between Rs. 1,401 and Rs. 1,446 with no ratings at all; three INVICTUS jackets at an identical Rs. 994; and a long tail of unrated kurtas between Rs. 452 and Rs. 1,696 that repeat the deep-badge-thin-evidence point the seated cards already make. Nothing was excluded for being a bad product, and no listing was excluded for having a low average.

What we look for

We check whether a rating count is shared with another listing before we trust it

Twenty of the 72 rated rows in this read publish a rating count that at least one other listing also publishes. Three separate HERE&NOW kurtas - different cuts, different prices, different stated MRPs - all show 10,251 ratings at 4.4. Two more show 7,632. Two Jompers kurta-and-salwar sets at an identical Rs. 781 both show 3,804, and two Vastraa Fusion jackets both show 1,688. Myntra is pooling reviews across a style family and printing the family's number under each member, so two listings showing the same count are one piece of evidence rather than two. We say so on every card where it happens rather than quoting the number as if it belonged to that garment alone.

We read the badge as a brand policy, not as a measure of the day

Which brand you are looking at predicts the discount far better than the garment does. One label files 22 listings in this read at a median 76.5 per cent off; Myntra's own House of Pataudi files 15 at 66; Ethnic Bay files three at 41; MAITHILI CREATION files three at 38; Fabindia files two at nought per cent. A stated MRP is a number the seller chooses, so a deep badge tells you how that brand prices rather than how good a day it is to buy. We group this page by that structure instead of ranking it by discount, and we seat the no-badge rows alongside the 88 per cent one.

We set a thousand-vote floor before a rating becomes a rating pill

This wall holds 127,179 votes across 72 rated rows, and 31 of the 103 rows carry no rating at all. Fifteen of our 23 seated picks clear a thousand votes and carry a pill; the rest show their count in the specification line without one, including a 4.6 average on 160 ratings and a 4.1 on 22. The point is visible within one chapter: two House of Pataudi cards here both average 4.6, and one of them has 1,435 votes while the other has 160. The averages are identical and the evidence is not, so only one of them gets ranked on it.

We separate the decorative treatments, because they decide how the garment is washed

Sequin, zari and thread work are not interchangeable finishes. Sequins are the first thing to catch in a machine drum and want an inside-out cycle in a bag. Zari is metallic thread that abrades and dulls, so those pieces should be dry-cleaned rather than washed at all. Thread work is embroidery in ordinary thread and is much the most durable of the three. Fabric matters the same way: pure cotton is the August answer and the pure wool Nehru jacket seated here is a November purchase being made three months early. We put that note on each card rather than describing everything as festive wear.

FAQs

Why do different Myntra kurtas show exactly the same number of ratings?

Because the rating is attached to a style family rather than to the single listing you are looking at. In our August 12, 2026 read of 103 Myntra men's ethnic listings, twenty of the 72 rated rows published a rating count identical to at least one other row. Three separate HERE&NOW kurtas - a solid short kurta at Rs. 787 from a stated Rs. 1,899, and two band-collar straight kurtas at Rs. 647 from a stated Rs. 2,399 - all showed 10,251 ratings at 4.4. Two more HERE&NOW listings both showed 7,632, two Jompers kurta-and-salwar sets at an identical Rs. 781 both showed 3,804, and two Vastraa Fusion wool jackets both showed 1,688. The practical consequence is that comparing two such listings on their rating counts tells you nothing, because it is the same evidence printed twice. Read it as a brand-level signal and compare the garments on cut, fabric and price instead.

Does a bigger discount mean a better deal on Myntra ethnic wear?

On this wall it mostly tells you which brand you are looking at. The discount is calculated against a stated MRP that the seller chooses, so it is a pricing policy rather than a measure of the day. In our read, one label filed 22 listings at a median 76.5 per cent off, Myntra's own House of Pataudi filed 15 at a median 66, Ethnic Bay filed three at 41, MAITHILI CREATION filed three at 38, and Fabindia filed two at nought per cent - listing them at the price they say they cost. The deepest badge in the entire read, 88 per cent off a stated Rs. 3,999, carries no rating at all. The most useful counter-example is a kurta set at 82 per cent off with 2,302 ratings behind it, which is why we seat both rather than only the convenient one.

Should I buy a kurta alone or a full kurta set?

A set is usually the better buy on this wall, and often barely dearer. A set arrives with its bottom already matched, which removes the single thing most likely to go wrong - matching a pyjama or churidar to a kurta's exact shade separately is difficult on screen, and an ombre or printed kurta makes it harder still. The best-evidenced complete set in our read was a thread work pure cotton kurta with pyjamas at Rs. 989 carrying 2,302 ratings at 4.4, and the most pieces for the money was a kurta, churidar and Nehru jacket at Rs. 1,259 with 1,506 ratings. One fit note: a salwar is cut fuller through the hip and tapers at the ankle, while a churidar is cut tight and long so it gathers into folds - the salwar is the more forgiving of the two if you are unsure of your measurements.

How should sequinned, zari and thread work kurtas be washed?

Differently, and this is worth getting right because it is the most common way a festive kurta is ruined. Sequins are stitched-on discs that catch on a washing machine drum and on other garments; wash a sequinned kurta inside out inside a mesh bag on a gentle cycle, or by hand. Zari is metallic thread, traditionally gold or silver, and it abrades and dulls with agitation and detergent - zari pieces should be dry-cleaned rather than washed at all, which is a real running cost worth counting before you buy. Thread work is embroidery in ordinary thread and is much the most durable of the three; it survives a normal cycle. Fabric matters alongside the finish: pure cotton is the sensible August choice across most of India, and the pure wool Nehru jacket in this read is a garment for November onwards.

Which pick on this page is the safest buy?

The Jompers thread work pure cotton kurta with pyjamas at Rs. 989 is the one we would point most people at: a complete outfit, 2,302 ratings at 4.4, thread work rather than sequins so it washes without ceremony, and pure cotton so it is wearable in August. If you want a single garment rather than a set, the Anouk navy mandarin-collar cotton kurta at Rs. 745 carries 7,856 ratings at 4.3 and its count is not shared with any other row in our read, which makes it the cleanest evidence on the page. For the best average with a real sample, the House of Pataudi zari work kurta at Rs. 923 holds 4.6 from 1,435 ratings, but remember the zari means dry cleaning. We would avoid the 88 per cent listing, not because it is bad but because nothing at all is known about it.

More Myntra coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP, discount percentage, rating and rating count here was read on August 12, 2026 from myntra.com's own listing data across five listing pages - men's kurtas over two pages, men's kurta sets, men's ethnic wear and men's Nehru jackets - with duplicate product ids removed, and all of them can change without notice. That yielded 103 rows, of which we seated 23. The derived figures we quote - that 72 of the 103 rows carry a rating and hold 127,179 votes between them, that twenty of those 72 publish a rating count identical to at least one other row in the read, that three HERE&NOW listings share 10,251 ratings at 4.4 and two more share 7,632, that two Jompers sets at an identical Rs. 781 share 3,804 and two Vastraa Fusion jackets share 1,688, that the wall's median badge is 70 per cent and its price range runs Rs. 434 to Rs. 2,299 at a median of Rs. 994, that 31 rows are badged 75 per cent or deeper with a median of 218 ratings, that 31 rows publish no rating at all and three carry no discount, and the brand medians of 76.5, 66, 41, 38 and nought per cent - are ours, calculated from those rows. Because our pull fixed five listing pages, these findings describe the listings we read rather than Myntra's whole men's ethnic catalogue; no sherwanis, no dhotis beyond two rows and no wedding wear above Rs. 2,299 are represented. A stated MRP is the seller's own figure and we have not verified that any product here was ever sold at it. Ratings and rating counts are Myntra's own, several listings visibly pool one style family's crowd across multiple rows as this page documents, and we attach a rating pill only where at least a thousand votes exist. We have not worn, handled, washed, measured or fabric-tested anything on this page. All fabric, weave, fibre, thread work, zari, sequin, fit and cut claims are quoted from the listings as the seller's own wording, reported and not endorsed. Sizing in Indian ethnic wear varies substantially between brands and a size that fits one label will not reliably fit another, so check each listing's own size chart against your measurements rather than ordering by your usual size, and confirm fabric, colour, included pieces and the current selling price before you order.
