A reusable nappy is a product you cannot evaluate without putting it on a baby, which makes the usual 'unused and in original packaging' return condition useless. SuperBottoms has an answer to that, and it is unusual enough to be worth reading carefully: 'we have this unique policy where we take back even a used diaper.'

The brand will arrange a pickup for a washed, used UNO and refund it in full, no questions asked. What its page also says, in smaller words, is that this covers UNO diapers only, first purchases only, and runs 30 days for a Freesize UNO but only 15 for a Newborn - counted from delivery, not from first use. Below: every limit, and what applies to everything else.

📅 Update log:
2 October 2026 — first published. The trial terms were read from superbottoms.com/cloth-diapers-try-for-free/, which redirects to superbottoms.com/pages/free-trial, and the cancellation and refund timings from superbottoms.com/policies/refund-policy, both on 2 October 2026 with plain scrapling, logged out, in India, with nothing ordered. The comparison with other D2C brands draws on policy pages for Beardo, Dot & Key, Mamaearth, mCaffeine, Minimalist and Libas read on 1 October 2026. Every window and rule is quoted as the brand printed it on that date and can be changed by the brand without notice.

The unusual part: SuperBottoms takes back a used nappy

Almost every return policy in Indian e-commerce requires the product to be unused, unwashed and in its original packaging. SuperBottoms' trial policy says the opposite, in its own words: 'We would love for you to try UNO with Zero risk, hence we have this unique policy where we take back even a used diaper.'

The mechanics are stated just as plainly. 'Wash and pack the used diaper. We'll have it picked up. If you are out of our pick-up zone, please ship it to us.' And on the money: 'No pressure though! If you don't, we give you a 100% refund! No questions asked!'

That is a real and unusual commitment for a reusable nappy, which is a product nobody can evaluate without putting it on a baby. It is also hedged by three separate limits that are easy to miss, and those limits are the rest of this page.

Three limits stack on this trial. It applies to UNO diapers only, to your first purchase only, and within 30 days for a Freesize UNO or 15 days for a Newborn UNO - counted from the date of delivery. Everything else the brand sells falls under the ordinary refund policy instead.

Newborn UNO cloth diaper15 daysDate of delivery of your first SuperBottoms order
Any other UNO purchase after the firstNot covered—

The brand's exact wording on the window is: '*Offer valid for 30 days on Freesize UNO and 15 days for Newborn UNO - counting from date of delivery of your 1st SuperBottoms!' It follows that with an equally blunt exclusion: 'Doesn't apply to any other products or packs. Sorry!'

And separately: 'This policy applies to only 1st purchase of any UNO diaper.' So the trial is a one-time offer to a new customer, not a standing returns window you can use again on a repeat order.

The fifteen-day window on the Newborn UNO is the one worth watching. It is half the Freesize window on a product bought for the shortest, most chaotic phase of a baby's life - and the clock runs from delivery, not from first use, so a parcel that arrives before the birth is burning trial days while it sits in a cupboard.

If you are buying ahead of a due date, buy the Freesize UNO to trial, not the Newborn. The window is twice as long and it still counts from the delivery date either way. The brand's own trial terms live at superbottoms.com/cloth-diapers-try-for-free and should be read before ordering, since it can change them without notice.

What happens to everything that is not a first UNO

The ordinary refund policy is conventional, and it is what applies to wipes, padded underwear, clothing, langots, gift boxes and every repeat order. The timings are specific enough to plan around.

  • Cancelling before dispatch: 'If the order that you want to cancel has not been shipped, you can cancel the order online or by contacting our helpdesk... Best done within 24 hours of placing the order.'
  • Refund on an unshipped cancellation: 'the money will be refunded to the same account used for payment, within 7 days of the return request', and 'the refunded amount may show in your account in 3-5 business days from the date of processing'.
  • Cancelling after dispatch: contact the helpdesk - or, as the policy puts it, 'You have the option to refuse the order at the time of delivery.'
  • Once it reaches the warehouse: 'Once the order reaches us, we shall initiate the refund within 3-7 business days', and 'refunds will be initiated after the returned product passes quality checks at our warehouse.'
  • Shipping is not refunded: 'Refunds will be issued for the price of the product only, shipping fees are not refunded.'
  • Cash on delivery refunds need action from you: 'For Cash on Delivery orders, you will receive a refund link over your registered email/contact number, which can be filled from your end for faster refund.' A prepaid refund goes back to the source account automatically; a COD one waits on you.
  • International orders: 'cannot be cancelled once shipped. If cancelled before shipping, refund will be done post deduction of applicable banking charges.'
The full refund timeline, end to end, as the brand states it

Read from superbottoms.com/policies/refund-policy on 2 October 2026.

  • Day 0: order placed. Cancellation 'best done within 24 hours'.
  • Before dispatch: cancel online or via helpdesk. Refund to the original account 'within 7 days of the return request'.
  • After dispatch: cancellation is no longer self-service - contact the helpdesk, or refuse the parcel at the door.
  • On arrival at the warehouse: the product must 'pass quality checks' before any refund is initiated.
  • After the check: refund 'initiated within 3-7 business days'.
  • In your account: a further '3-5 business days from the date of processing'.
  • Not refunded at any stage: the shipping fee.

Stacked at their slowest, those stated steps run to roughly two weeks from the parcel reaching the warehouse to the money reaching your account - and that is before return transit. The brand also notes that for a wrong or damaged delivery it aims to 'resolve your concern within 1 business day' once you email the order number, delivery date and a photograph.

How this compares with the rest of the D2C shelf

We read six Indian D2C brands' return policies the day before this one, and the contrast is sharp. Five of the six allow returns only when something is wrong with the parcel - the wrong item, a damaged item, a missing item - within windows of 48 hours to 7 days. A used product going back for a full refund is not on offer anywhere in that group.

SuperBottoms' trial sits outside that pattern entirely, and it should be read as what it is: a category-specific marketing commitment on one product line, not a general returns policy. Outside the first UNO purchase, this brand is as conventional as the rest - shipping fees unrefunded, quality checks before money moves, and cancellation effectively closed once a parcel is packed.

The reason the trial exists is also stated on the page, and it is honest about its own motive: 'We at SuperBottoms are determined to make Cloth diapers mainstream', with the trial offered 'to encourage parents into cloth diapering'. It is a conversion tool for a product category most Indian parents have never used. That does not make it less useful - it makes it predictable that it only covers the first purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you really return a used SuperBottoms diaper?
On your first UNO purchase, the brand says yes. Its trial page states: 'We would love for you to try UNO with Zero risk, hence we have this unique policy where we take back even a used diaper', and sets out the process as 'Wash and pack the used diaper. We'll have it picked up. If you are out of our pick-up zone, please ship it to us.' It promises '100% refund! No questions asked!' if the product does not work for you. Three limits apply: it covers UNO diapers only, first purchases only, and runs 30 days for a Freesize UNO or 15 days for a Newborn UNO from the date of delivery. We have not ordered, used or returned anything to test the process - this is a reading of the published policy.
How long is the SuperBottoms free trial?
It depends on which UNO you buy, and the brand is explicit: '*Offer valid for 30 days on Freesize UNO and 15 days for Newborn UNO - counting from date of delivery of your 1st SuperBottoms!' The clock starts at delivery rather than at first use, which matters if you are buying ahead of a due date - a parcel sitting in a cupboard is spending trial days. If you want the longest window, the Freesize UNO gives you twice as long as the Newborn. The policy also states it 'applies to only 1st purchase of any UNO diaper' and 'doesn't apply to any other products or packs'.
Does the SuperBottoms trial cover wipes, clothing or padded underwear?
No. The trial page states flatly: 'Doesn't apply to any other products or packs. Sorry!' Everything outside a first UNO diaper purchase falls under the brand's ordinary refund policy, which is conventional - cancellation is possible before dispatch and 'best done within 24 hours', refunds are 'initiated within 3-7 business days' once the product reaches the warehouse and passes quality checks, and 'refunds will be issued for the price of the product only, shipping fees are not refunded'. So wipes, baby bloomers, briefs, langots, gift boxes and every repeat order are on standard terms, not trial terms.
How long does a SuperBottoms refund take?
Longer than the headline numbers suggest, because the stated steps stack. For an unshipped cancellation the policy says the money goes back 'within 7 days of the return request', and 'may show in your account in 3-5 business days from the date of processing'. For a returned order it says 'once the order reaches us, we shall initiate the refund within 3-7 business days', and only 'after the returned product passes quality checks at our warehouse'. Taken at their slowest, that is roughly two weeks from the parcel arriving at the warehouse to the money arriving with you, plus return transit. Cash-on-delivery refunds also need a step from you: 'you will receive a refund link over your registered email/contact number, which can be filled from your end'.
Is the SuperBottoms return policy better than other Indian D2C brands?
On its first UNO purchase, clearly yes; outside it, it is ordinary. Of six Indian D2C brands whose policies we read the previous day, five allow returns only when something is wrong with the parcel - wrong, damaged or missing items - within windows of 48 hours to 7 days, and none takes back a used product. SuperBottoms' use-and-return trial is a genuine outlier for that group. But it is a category-specific commitment on one product line, offered, in the brand's own words, 'to encourage parents into cloth diapering' - and for everything else the brand applies the same shipping-fee exclusions, warehouse quality checks and short cancellation windows as its peers. Policies are set by each brand and can change without notice; read the current page before ordering.
