Vijay Sales' privacy policy is shorter than a marketplace's and one paragraph in it is worth the whole read: "Users can initiate an account deletion or deactivation request ... However, please note that this request pertains to the removal of specific data types such as personal data, invoices, product information, etc. rather than the complete deletion of their entire account." The policy says that plainly instead of burying it, and attaches a commitment most do not: processing "within 4-5 working days".

We read vijaysales.com/privacy-policy first-party on 10 October 2026, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased and no account created. Below: that clause, the merger sentence that says data "will" be shared, the affiliate term that is genuinely better than the category average, the IP-address and survey paragraph, the liability waiver on data in transit, and the delivery line that gives you one chance to raise a discrepancy. Published policy only; nothing here is legal advice.

📅 Update log:
10 October 2026 — First publication. Vijay Sales' privacy policy read in full from vijaysales.com/privacy-policy: the secure-transactions preamble, the regular-update and consent-at-registration clause, the external-links disclaimer, the manufacturer warranty and authorised service provider clause, the catalogue-accuracy paragraph and its correction invitation, the registration and personally identifiable information collection paragraph, the offers-and-mailers opt-out sentence, the permanent and temporary cookies paragraph and its no-personal-data statement, the damaged-goods and manufacturer-liability clause, the dimensions-and-colours image caveat, the consequential-damages exclusion, the reproduction and B2B resale restrictions, the bulk-order cancellation and up-to-4% processing-fee deduction, the loyalty-points exclusion for bulk buyers, the check-on-receipt delivery clause and its no-further-queries sentence, the security measures paragraph and the transmission liability waiver, the corporate entities and affiliates sharing clause with its explicit opt-in marketing restriction, the law-enforcement and legal-process disclosure clause, the merger and acquisition sharing clause and its follow-this-policy protection, the termination clause, the use-of-personal-information paragraph including IP address and demographic profiling, the optional surveys paragraph, and the account deletion and deactivation clause with its 4-5 working day processing commitment. Policy verified 10 October 2026.

The deletion clause, in the policy's own words

Most retail privacy policies in India now carry a deletion route, because they have to. Vijay Sales carries one too, and then adds a sentence that changes what it means:

"Users can initiate an account deletion or deactivation request by contacting our helpdesk via email at 'onlinesupport@vijaysales.com'. However, please note that this request pertains to the removal of specific data types such as personal data, invoices, product information, etc. rather than the complete deletion of their entire account."

Read the second sentence twice. What you can ask for is the removal of named categories of data — personal data, invoices, product information — not the account itself. The policy says so plainly rather than burying it, which is the unusual part; most pages promise deletion and leave the scope undefined. Retaining invoice and transaction records is also ordinary and often legally required — tax, warranty and consumer-law obligations all outlive a shopping account — so a policy that keeps some records after a deletion request is not doing anything improper. The practical consequence is simply that "delete my account" and what this process does are different things, and it is worth knowing which one you are asking for.

The same paragraph carries something better than most: a time commitment. "Once the deletion request is received from users/customers, we (Vijay Sales) will process it for deletion within 4-5 working days from the date of submission." A published turnaround on a data request is rarer than the deletion route itself.

The merger clause, and the one that follows it

The sharing section is long, and the sentence at the end of it is the one worth reading: "Vijaysales.com and its affiliates will share some or all of your personal information with another business entity should we (or our assets) plan to merge with, or be acquired by that business entity." The verb is "will", not "may".

The protection arrives immediately after: "Should such a transaction occur that other business entity (or the new combined entity) will be required to follow this privacy policy with respect to your personal information." So the obligation is stated to travel with the data. Transferring customer data as part of a corporate transaction is ordinary, lawful and near-universal, and no wrongdoing is alleged — the same clause, in near-identical wording, appears in Flipkart's privacy policy, which suggests a shared drafting ancestry across Indian e-commerce rather than anything specific to this retailer.

What sits above it is more generous than the category average. Data may be shared with "our other corporate entities and affiliates" to detect identity theft and fraud, to "correlate related or multiple accounts to prevent abuse of our services", and to run co-branded services you request — and then: "Those entities and affiliates may not market to you as a result of such sharing unless you explicitly opt-in." Opt-in, not opt-out. That is a real protection, it is stated in one line, and it is better than what several larger retailers publish.

What is collected, and what it is used for

The collection clause is ordinary and the use clause is long. Vijay Sales collects "personally identifiable information (email address, name, phone number, etc.)" when you set up a free account, and notes that you can browse without registering but cannot order. Marketing is opt-out by default: "You would be receiving offers and mailers from us, in case you do not wish to receive, you can choose to unsubscribe from the same."

The uses listed run from the expected to the broad: resolving disputes, troubleshooting, promoting a safe service, "collect fees owed", measuring consumer interest, informing you about "online and offline offers", customising your experience, fraud detection and enforcing the terms. Beyond that, the policy says it collects and analyses "demographic and profile data about our user's activity on our website", uses your IP address both to diagnose server problems and "to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information", and may ask you to complete optional surveys requesting "zip code, age, or income level".

On cookies the statement is short and unambiguous: Vijay Sales "places both permanent and temporary cookies in your computer's hard drive" and "Vijaysales.com's cookies do not contain any of your personally identifiable information." Consent is framed at registration — "By accepting the Privacy Policy during registration, you expressly consent to our use and disclosure of your personal information" — and the policy states it "would be updated on a regular basis", asking readers to "review this policy periodically, to be aware of any changes". There is no stated notification of changes; the obligation to check is placed on the reader.

The two sentences that matter at the door

Two clauses on this page are not really about privacy at all, and both bite at delivery.

The first: "As a policy on receipt of product, we request you to check and confirm the contents while accepting the delivery. Discrepancies, if any, must be brought to our notice, after which no further queries would be entertained." In plain terms, open the box in front of the delivery agent. Asking a customer to check contents on receipt is standard in large-appliance retail, where a damaged or short delivery is far easier to establish at the door than a week later, and the sentence does not purport to remove any statutory right. It is still the sharpest-edged line in the document, and it is in the privacy policy rather than the returns page where a reader would look for it. The actual windows are in our reading of Vijay Sales' delivery and returns policy.

The second: "We will endeavor to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information; transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. By using this Site, you agree that we will have no liability for disclosure of your information due to errors in transmission or unauthorised acts of third parties." The first half of that sentence is a true statement about the internet. The second half is a liability waiver attached to it, accepted by using the site. Whether such a waiver is effective is a question for a court and not for this page.

Alongside them sit the ordinary commercial disclaimers: warranties are the manufacturers' "and are liable for the same", product information is "limited to the information given by the Manufacturer to us", "Actual dimensions and colors may differ from the images shown on our website", and there is no liability for "any direct, special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever". The bulk-order deduction that sits in the same family of clauses is covered in our reading of Vijay Sales' bulk order rules.

What the policy does better than most

A page that only listed the uncomfortable clauses would misdescribe this document, because three things in it are better than the category average.

One: the affiliate marketing term is opt-in. Where personal data is shared with corporate entities and affiliates, those entities "may not market to you as a result of such sharing unless you explicitly opt-in". The common drafting elsewhere is an opt-out, or silence. Two: the deletion request carries a published turnaround — "within 4-5 working days from the date of submission" — which very few Indian retail policies state at all, even where they offer deletion. Three: the cookie statement is unambiguous and does not hedge: the cookies "do not contain any of your personally identifiable information".

The contact details are real rather than a form: onlinesupport@vijaysales.com and +91 7303434043 are published on the page, and the same address is given for privacy questions, deletion requests, pricing errors and delivery discrepancies. The policy also invites correction of its own catalogue: where product data is inaccurate, "we would request you to kindly inform us". What is missing, by comparison with the larger marketplaces, is a named Grievance Officer with a designation and address under the Information Technology Act, a stated retention period, and a described route to withdraw consent as distinct from requesting deletion.

How to use this page

Five practical points, none of them legal advice. One: if you want your data removed, name the data. The request route covers specific categories rather than the whole account, so an email listing what you want deleted is more likely to be actioned as you intend than one that says "delete my account". Two: expect 4-5 working days — the policy commits to that, so it is a reasonable point at which to follow up. Three: check the box at the door. The policy asks for discrepancies on receipt and says no further queries will be entertained afterwards. Four: you are opted in to mailers by default, and the unsubscribe route is the one to use; affiliates, by contrast, cannot market to you unless you explicitly opt in. Five: re-read the page occasionally — it says it is updated regularly and promises no notification. Everything above is Vijay Sales' published text as it stood on 10 October 2026. This page describes a published privacy policy and expresses no view on whether any clause is valid or enforceable; nothing here is legal advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you delete your Vijay Sales account?
You can ask, and the policy is explicit that the request is narrower than it sounds. "Users can initiate an account deletion or deactivation request by contacting our helpdesk via email at 'onlinesupport@vijaysales.com'. However, please note that this request pertains to the removal of specific data types such as personal data, invoices, product information, etc. rather than the complete deletion of their entire account." So the process removes named categories of data rather than the account record itself. Retaining invoices and transaction records after such a request is ordinary and frequently required for tax, warranty and consumer-law purposes, and no wrongdoing is alleged. The policy commits to processing the request "within 4-5 working days from the date of submission".
Does Vijay Sales share your personal information with other companies?
Yes, in defined circumstances, and one of the terms attached is better than usual. Data may be shared with "our other corporate entities and affiliates" to detect identity theft and fraud, to "correlate related or multiple accounts to prevent abuse of our services", and to provide co-branded services you request — and the policy then states that those entities "may not market to you as a result of such sharing unless you explicitly opt-in". Separately, data may be disclosed to law enforcement or rights owners on a "good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary", and in a merger or acquisition Vijay Sales "will share some or all of your personal information with another business entity", which would then be required to follow the same policy.
What does Vijay Sales do with your IP address and browsing data?
The policy describes both diagnostic and profiling uses. It collects and analyses "demographic and profile data about our user's activity on our website", and says it identifies and uses your IP address "to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website" and also "to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information". Optional surveys may ask for "zip code, age, or income level", used to tailor content. On cookies the policy is clear in the customer's favour: Vijay Sales places "both permanent and temporary cookies" and states that they "do not contain any of your personally identifiable information". Collecting and analysing site activity with notice is ordinary practice.
Is Vijay Sales responsible if your data is intercepted online?
Under the policy, no. It states that it has "stringent security measures" and offers a secure server when you access account information, then adds: "We will endeavor to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information; transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. By using this Site, you agree that we will have no liability for disclosure of your information due to errors in transmission or unauthorised acts of third parties." The first half is a factual statement about internet transmission that any security professional would accept; the second is a liability waiver accepted by using the site. Whether such a waiver is effective against a consumer is a matter for a court or regulator, not for this page, and nothing here alleges any breach or data loss.
What should you check when a Vijay Sales delivery arrives?
The contents, before the delivery agent leaves. The policy says: "As a policy on receipt of product, we request you to check and confirm the contents while accepting the delivery. Discrepancies, if any, must be brought to our notice, after which no further queries would be entertained." It publishes two routes for raising one — onlinesupport@vijaysales.com and +91 7303434043. Asking customers to verify a delivery on receipt is standard in appliance retail and the sentence does not purport to remove any statutory right you may have; it does mean that the practical window for a missing or damaged item is at the door rather than later in the week. The detailed windows sit in the delivery and returns policy rather than here.

A published policy can be amended at any time and this one states it "would be updated on a regular basis", so the policy described here may already differ from the one that applies to you; the policy shown on vijaysales.com prevails over anything on this page. This page describes a published privacy policy. It does not assess, and expresses no view on, whether any clause quoted above is valid, binding, fair or enforceable, whether any liability waiver or consent would be upheld, whether the policy complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the Information Technology Act, the Consumer Protection Act or any rules made under them, or whether any consent described is validly obtained, all of which are matters for a court, a regulator or the Data Protection Board and not for a shopping page; nothing on this page is legal, contractual, regulatory or financial advice or a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Reporting that a published privacy policy contains an account-deletion clause, a corporate-transaction clause, an affiliate-sharing clause, a law-enforcement disclosure clause, a cookies clause, a security clause, a liability-exclusion clause or a delivery-discrepancy clause is a description of published text; collecting and analysing customer data with notice, retaining invoice and transaction records after a deletion request, sharing data with group companies and affiliates, transferring data as part of a merger or restructuring, cooperating with lawful requests from authorities, and limiting liability in published terms are ordinary and lawful commercial practices, and no statement here alleges a data breach, a privacy violation, an unfair trade practice, an unfair contract term, a dark pattern, misleading advertising, deficiency in service or any breach of law, rule or guideline by Vijay Sales (India) Pvt. Ltd. or by any associated entity, officer or employee, and no wrongdoing is alleged or implied. In particular, nothing on this page asserts or implies that Vijay Sales has refused any deletion request, has failed to meet its stated 4-5 working day processing commitment, has suffered or concealed any data breach, has shared any individual's information improperly or unlawfully, has marketed to any customer without consent, or has declined any valid delivery complaint; the clauses described are drafting, and the policy's stated protections — the explicit opt-in on affiliate marketing, the statement that cookies hold no personally identifiable information, the unsubscribe route and the published deletion turnaround — are recorded above. No product is assessed, tested, compared or recommended on this page and no price, discount or offer is stated here. Product photographs are listing images and may be styled or retouched; the products shown illustrate the kind of shopping account this policy concerns, are not offers, and their prices are not stated. Prices and policies change without notice; the terms shown at your own checkout prevail over anything here.
