Festive bus coupons usually ask when you booked. AbhiBus's FESTIVAL code asks when you travel: "Offer is valid only for journey dates between 8 October 2026 and 25 October 2026." Book today for a 26 October journey and it does nothing; book on the 24th for the 25th and it works.

We pulled AbhiBus's own live offers on 4 October 2026 - 33 of them - and read this one's terms in full. Below: why an existing account gets 8% where the headline says 20%, what the twin Rs. 200 caps mean for a real fare, and the exclusion that makes the code worthless on exactly the routes where state transport does the festive heavy lifting.

📅 Update log:
4 October 2026 — First publication. AbhiBus's FESTIVAL offer read in full from the operator's own offers payload, alongside the other 32 live offers returned the same day: the 8-25 October journey-date window, the 25 October expiry, the new-user and existing-user percentages and their Rs. 200 caps, the Rs. 500 minimum booking value, the login requirement, the once-per-user limit, the no-stacking clause and the exclusion of government RTC bookings. Terms verified 4 October 2026.

The window is on your journey date, not on your booking date

AbhiBus is running a festive-window coupon called FESTIVAL, and the single most important line in its terms is the one that decides whether your trip qualifies at all. In the offer's own words:

"Offer is valid only for journey dates between 8 October 2026 and 25 October 2026."

That is a travel-date window, not a booking-date window. Most coupons work the other way round - book inside a period, travel whenever. Here the test is when the bus runs. A booking made today for a journey on 26 October does not qualify; a booking made on 24 October for a journey on 25 October does.

The offer's expiry is stated separately and lines up with the end of that window: "The offer is valid till 25 October 2026." So both clocks close on the same day, and the practical reading is simple - the code covers the run-up to Diwali and stops before the return leg most people take afterwards.

Check the journey date before you check the fare. FESTIVAL applies to travel between 8 and 25 October 2026 only, so a return booked for the end of the month is outside it even if you book both legs today.

20% is the new-user number. Existing users get 8%.

The headline on the offer tile reads "Up to 20% off upto Rs. 200 and up to 20% cashback upto Rs. 200". The terms underneath split that into two different deals:

"Apply coupon code FESTIVAL and get 20% off up to Rs. 200 + 20% cashback up to Rs. 200 for new users on their first booking. Existing users get 8% off up to Rs. 200 + 8% cashback up to Rs. 200."

So an existing AbhiBus account gets 8% and 8%, not 20% and 20%. That is a material difference and it is not in the headline. On a Rs. 800 fare a new user sees Rs. 160 off plus Rs. 160 cashback; an existing user sees Rs. 64 off plus Rs. 64 cashback.

Both halves are capped at Rs. 200 each, which sets the point beyond which a bigger fare stops helping. A new user hits both caps at a Rs. 1,000 fare; an existing user would need a Rs. 2,500 fare to reach them. Above those figures the percentage stops mattering and only the caps do.

And the two halves are not the same kind of money. The "off" comes out at checkout. The "cashback" does not - it is credited afterwards, by the payment or wallet route the offer uses, and the terms here do not state when. If you are budgeting for the ticket itself, the discount is the only half you can count on paying with.

Government buses are excluded - and on some routes that is most of them

This is the exclusion most likely to catch a festive traveller. "Offer valid only for private bus bookings and not applicable on government RTCs."

On plenty of intercity routes in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, the state transport corporation is the backbone of the service rather than a fallback - and during a festive week it is often the operator adding the extra runs. If your route is an RTC route, FESTIVAL does nothing.

The same offers payload we read on 4 October carries separate codes for exactly those operators, which is the practical answer rather than a complaint: APSRTC, TGSRTC and Kerala RTC each carry a 'save up to Rs. 300' offer, UPSRTC and HRTC up to Rs. 500, GSRTC 10% off, OSRTC 20% off, and RSRTC a 50%-off line under the code RJ100. They are separate offers with their own terms, and since FESTIVAL "cannot be combined with any other offer", the choice is one or the other.

The rest of the FESTIVAL conditions, in the offer's own words
  • Minimum spend: "A minimum booking value of Rs. 500 is required to avail the offer."
  • Login: "Users must be logged in to AbhiBus to avail the offer."
  • Frequency: "The coupon can be used once per user during the offer period." One trip, not one per booking.
  • No stacking: "This offer cannot be combined with any other offer."
  • The operator's reservation: "AbhiBus reserves the right to disqualify any transaction or discontinue the offer at any time without notice or liability of whatsoever nature."

The once-per-user limit is worth planning around if you are booking both legs. A return trip is two bookings on most routes, and the coupon covers one of them - so it is worth applying to the dearer leg rather than whichever you book first.

The Rs. 500 minimum is low enough that most intercity fares clear it, but it does rule out short hops. And the login requirement matters more than it looks: whether you count as a "new user" is decided by the account, so an existing account used for a first-ever booking is still an existing user by the offer's wording.

What this is worth, and when it is not

For a new user on a private operator travelling before 25 October, it is a real saving: up to Rs. 200 off the fare and up to Rs. 200 back, on a minimum spend of Rs. 500.

For an existing user it is 8% and 8%, capped at Rs. 200 each - which on a typical Rs. 700 to Rs. 1,200 intercity fare is roughly Rs. 56 to Rs. 96 off at checkout, plus the same again as cashback later.

For an RTC route, or a journey on or after 26 October, it is worth nothing - and the bank, UPI and operator-specific codes in the same payload are the place to look instead.

We did not book, pay, apply the code or receive any cashback, and no figure here was verified at a checkout. Every term above is AbhiBus's own published offer text read on 4 October 2026, and the offer itself states that AbhiBus may discontinue it at any time without notice; the terms shown at your own checkout prevail over anything here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the AbhiBus FESTIVAL coupon code and what does it give?
FESTIVAL is a festive-window bus coupon. In the offer's own words: "Apply coupon code FESTIVAL and get 20% off up to Rs. 200 + 20% cashback up to Rs. 200 for new users on their first booking. Existing users get 8% off up to Rs. 200 + 8% cashback up to Rs. 200." A minimum booking value of Rs. 500 applies, you must be logged in, and the coupon can be used once per user during the offer period. Read 4 October 2026; check the live terms before booking.
What dates does the AbhiBus FESTIVAL offer cover?
It is tied to your travel date, not your booking date. The terms state: "Offer is valid only for journey dates between 8 October 2026 and 25 October 2026" and "The offer is valid till 25 October 2026." So a journey on 26 October or later falls outside it however early you book, which matters for anyone booking a return leg after Diwali.
Does the AbhiBus FESTIVAL offer work on APSRTC or TGSRTC buses?
No. The terms are explicit: "Offer valid only for private bus bookings and not applicable on government RTCs." The same offers list read on 4 October 2026 carried separate state transport offers instead - APSRTC, TGSRTC and Kerala RTC each up to Rs. 300, UPSRTC and HRTC up to Rs. 500, GSRTC 10% off, OSRTC 20% off and RSRTC under code RJ100 - and since FESTIVAL cannot be combined with any other offer, you pick one.
How much do I actually save with 20% off plus 20% cashback?
Both halves are capped at Rs. 200 each, which sets the ceiling. A new user reaches both caps at a fare of about Rs. 1,000; an existing user on 8% and 8% would need a fare around Rs. 2,500 to reach them. The two halves are also different kinds of money: the discount comes off at checkout, while cashback is credited afterwards and the terms do not state when. We did not book or test any of it.
Can I use the FESTIVAL coupon on both legs of a return trip?
Not according to the terms. They state that "The coupon can be used once per user during the offer period" and that the offer "cannot be combined with any other offer." On most routes a return is two separate bookings, so the practical approach is to apply it to the more expensive leg. Note also that the journey date for each leg has to fall between 8 and 25 October 2026.

Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every coupon code, percentage, cap, minimum, date and condition here was read on 4 October 2026 from AbhiBus's own live offers data, logged out, in India, with nothing booked, no account created, no code applied and no payment made; quotations are reproduced verbatim from the operator's own offer terms, with the rupee symbol replaced by "Rs." and no other change. Thirty-three live offers were returned in that read and this page describes one of them in detail and summarises others by name; offers are added, amended and withdrawn continuously, so the set described here is a snapshot of one date rather than a complete or current list. The offer's own terms state that "AbhiBus reserves the right to disqualify any transaction or discontinue the offer at any time without notice or liability of whatsoever nature", so the code may already have changed or ended - the terms shown on abhibus.com and at your own checkout prevail over anything on this page. No discount, cashback amount or fare on this page was verified at a checkout: the worked examples are arithmetic over the percentages and caps the offer publishes, the fare figures used to illustrate them are hypothetical, and we make no representation that any particular booking will receive any particular amount. Cashback, where mentioned, is the operator's own term and this page makes no statement about when or by what route it is credited, because the offer terms do not state it. The state transport offers summarised here - APSRTC, TGSRTC, Kerala RTC, GSRTC, OSRTC, UPSRTC, HRTC and RSRTC - are separate offers with their own separate terms that this page has not reproduced in full, and the observation that government RTC services carry much of the festive load on some routes is general context rather than a claim about any specific route, operator or date. Nothing here alleges unfair trade practice, deficiency in service, a dark pattern, misleading advertising or any breach of the Consumer Protection Act, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules or any other law, rule or guideline by AbhiBus, by Ixigo, by any bus operator or by any state transport corporation, and no wrongdoing is alleged or implied; offering different rates to new and existing users, capping a percentage discount, excluding certain operators and limiting a coupon to one use are ordinary and lawful promotional practices.
