We read both bus sites' own offer shelves on 18 August 2026. RedBus published 50 coupon codes with the code written out beside each offer; AbhiBus published 34 offer tiles with the code printed on the artwork instead.
Neither is simply cheaper. AbhiBus is worth Rs. 500 on a first booking against RedBus's Rs. 250, and reaches Rs. 500 caps on Uttar Pradesh and Himachal state buses against a flat Rs. 300. RedBus answers with three Rs. 500 bank card caps and roughly thirty operator-specific codes. Here is which one wins on each lever, and how to tell which lever is yours.
🚌 Both offer shelves read on 18 August 2026
AbhiBus Rs. 500 vs RedBus Rs. 250 on a first booking
50 RedBus codes · 34 AbhiBus tiles · one coupon per booking on both, plus a payment offer
📅 Update log:
18 Aug 2026 — first published. All discounts, caps and eligibility read today from redbus.in/offers and abhibus.com/bus-ticket-offers. RedBus codes are quoted as printed in its page text; AbhiBus values are quoted from its tile copy, because that site prints its codes on the offer artwork. We re-check both shelves weekly and log every cap that changes.
The Comparison That Decides a Single Booking
We read both sites' own offers pages on 18 August 2026. RedBus lists 50 coupon codes with the code printed as text beside each one. AbhiBus lists 34 offer tiles, and prints the code on the offer creative rather than in the page copy - which is why our AbhiBus figures below are the discounts and caps rather than the codes themselves.
Neither site is simply cheaper. Which one saves you more depends on which of four levers applies to your booking: whether it is your first, whether your route is run by a state corporation, which card you are paying with, and whether the specific bus company has its own code. The four answers do not point the same way.
| Lever | AbhiBus | RedBus | Who wins |
|---|
| First booking | Rs. 500 off | Up to Rs. 250 off (FIRST) | AbhiBus, by 2x |
| State RTC caps | Up to Rs. 500 (UPSRTC, HRTC); 50% on RSRTC | A flat Rs. 300 on five corporations | AbhiBus on depth |
| State RTC coverage | 9 corporations named | 8 codes across 5 corporations, uniformly capped | Close - read your route |
| Bank card caps | Up to Rs. 300 (RBL); Rs. 200 on most | Up to Rs. 500 (IDFC, RBL, Axis) | RedBus, by Rs. 200 |
| Operator-specific codes | 11 operators | About 30 operators, mostly 15% up to Rs. 225 | RedBus on breadth |
| Sitewide code | None named on the day we read it | BUS300, up to Rs. 300 | RedBus |
| Is the code visible? | Printed on the offer creative image | Printed as text beside the offer | RedBus, for convenience |
The rule that survives both sites: only one coupon code applies per booking, but a card or UPI offer is applied at the payment step - so on either site the normal best case is one route or first-booking code plus one payment offer. That is why RedBus's Rs. 500 bank caps matter even though its coupon caps are lower.
RedBus: The Codes Worth Knowing
RedBus's advantage is legibility and breadth. All 50 codes sit on one page with the code written out, and about thirty of them are tied to a single bus operator - Prasanna Purple, Greenline, Fresh Bus, NueGo, Raj Kalpana and so on - almost all at 15 per cent capped at Rs. 225. If your route is run by a private operator, the odds that RedBus has a code for it are good.
The headline codes are less generous than AbhiBus's. A first booking is worth up to Rs. 250 against AbhiBus's Rs. 500, and the state-corporation codes are uniformly capped at Rs. 300 where AbhiBus reaches Rs. 500. Where RedBus pulls clearly ahead is bank cards: three separate Rs. 500 caps against AbhiBus's best of Rs. 300.

AbhiBus: Deeper on First Bookings and State Buses
AbhiBus's shelf is smaller - 34 tiles against RedBus's 50 codes - and it is deeper where it counts for a long-distance fare. A first booking is worth Rs. 500, twice RedBus's Rs. 250. Uttar Pradesh and Himachal state buses carry Rs. 500 caps against RedBus's Rs. 300. And Rajasthan SRTC carries a straight 50 per cent, which is the only offer of that size on either page.
The trade-off is visibility and breadth. AbhiBus prints its codes on the offer artwork rather than in the page text, so you have to look at each tile to find the code - and its operator list runs to eleven bus companies against RedBus's thirty or so. On the operators it does cover, its offers are often flat amounts rather than percentages, which is better on cheap tickets and worse on expensive ones.
| What it gives | Applies to | Note |
|---|
| Rs. 500 off your 1st booking | New users | Two tiles carry this offer |
| Up to Rs. 500 off | UPSRTC bookings | The deepest state cap on either site |
| Up to Rs. 500 off | HRTC (Himachal) bookings | Matched only by RedBus bank codes |
| 50% off | RSRTC (Rajasthan) bookings | The only 50% offer on either page |
| Up to Rs. 300 off | TGSRTC, APSRTC, Kerala RTC, UTC | Four separate tiles |
| 20% off / 10% off | OSRTC / GSRTC | Percentage rather than a cap |

How we read these two shelves, and what we cannot tell you
Both offer pages were read on 18 August 2026: redbus.in/offers, which prints each coupon code as text beside its offer description, and abhibus.com/bus-ticket-offers, which prints the code on the offer creative image instead of in the page copy. From RedBus we recorded 50 codes with their stated discounts and caps. From AbhiBus we recorded 34 offer tiles with their stated discounts, caps and eligibility, and we have deliberately not reproduced AbhiBus codes here from an earlier read, because a code we cannot see on today's page is a code we cannot verify today.
What we cannot tell you: the expiry date of any individual offer, which neither site prints on the shelf; minimum fare thresholds where an offer does not state one; whether an offer is app-only or restricted to first-time users of a payment method; and whether either site's coupon actually applies to your specific route and operator, which only the search results will tell you. Every offer on both pages carries a terms-and-conditions marker. We have not tested a single code at checkout on either site, and neither site's fares are compared here - this page compares published offer shelves, not ticket prices, and the fare difference between two operators on your route will frequently exceed any of these discounts.
Which Should You Book On?
- First booking, long fare: AbhiBus. Rs. 500 against Rs. 250 is the single largest gap between the two shelves, and it applies to exactly one booking, so use it on an expensive one.
- State-run route (UP, Himachal, Rajasthan): AbhiBus. Rs. 500 caps on UPSRTC and HRTC and 50 per cent on RSRTC beat RedBus's flat Rs. 300 on every fare above about Rs. 1,700.
- Paying with an IDFC FIRST, RBL or Axis credit card: RedBus. Three Rs. 500 bank caps against AbhiBus's best of Rs. 300 - and the bank offer stacks on top of a coupon on both sites.
- Private operator route: check RedBus first. About thirty operator codes against AbhiBus's eleven, so it is simply more likely to have one for your bus.
- Short fare, under about Rs. 1,300: look for flat amounts. AbhiBus's flat Rs. 200 codes on Mahalaxmi, Shyamoli and DNR beat any 15-per-cent code on a cheap ticket; RedBus's percentages win on expensive sleepers.
- Compare the fare before the coupon on both. A Rs. 200 difference in the base fare between operators outweighs most of the caps on either page, and neither site's coupon shelf tells you anything about that.
Zoutons Verdict
There is no single winner here, and any page that names one is not reading the shelves. On 18 August 2026 RedBus published 50 codes with the code written out in plain text, roughly thirty of them tied to individual bus operators, and three bank codes capped at Rs. 500 - the largest payment caps on either site. AbhiBus published 34 tiles with the code on the artwork, and reached higher where it matters most on a long fare: Rs. 500 off a first booking against Rs. 250, Rs. 500 caps on Uttar Pradesh and Himachal state buses against a flat Rs. 300, and a straight 50 per cent on Rajasthan.
So: first booking or a state-run route, open AbhiBus. Paying with an IDFC FIRST, RBL or Axis credit card, or riding a private operator, open RedBus. And on either site, run the route search before choosing the code, because the coupon you can use is decided by the bus you are taking rather than by preference.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is better for coupons, AbhiBus or RedBus?
It depends on the booking, and the honest answer splits four ways. On 18 August 2026, RedBus's offers page carried 50 coupon codes with each code printed as text, including three bank codes capped at Rs. 500 (IDFC FIRST, RBL and Axis credit cards) and roughly thirty codes tied to individual bus operators at 15 per cent up to Rs. 225. AbhiBus's page carried 34 offer tiles with the code printed on the creative image, and reached deeper on two things: Rs. 500 off a first booking against RedBus's Rs. 250, and Rs. 500 caps on Uttar Pradesh and Himachal state buses against RedBus's flat Rs. 300, plus a straight 50 per cent on Rajasthan SRTC. Neither site's shelf tells you anything about the fare, which usually matters more than the coupon.
What is the biggest first-booking discount on a bus app?
Of these two, AbhiBus - Rs. 500 off a first booking, which is twice RedBus's FIRST code at up to Rs. 250, as read from both sites' own offers pages on 18 August 2026. AbhiBus carried two separate first-booking tiles at that value on the day we read it. Because a first-booking offer applies exactly once, the sensible move is to save it for an expensive long-distance ticket rather than spending it on a Rs. 400 local fare where a flat Rs. 200 operator code would do nearly as well. On either site the first-booking coupon can normally be combined with a card or UPI offer, because payment offers are applied at the payment step rather than as a coupon.
Do bus coupon codes work on state transport (RTC) buses?
Yes, and both sites carry dedicated codes for them - but only on that corporation's own services, so your route decides which code is even available. RedBus published codes for Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Odisha and Gujarat SRTC, all capped uniformly at up to Rs. 300, plus two smaller Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh codes capped at Rs. 50. AbhiBus named nine corporations and went deeper: up to Rs. 500 on UPSRTC and HRTC, 50 per cent on Rajasthan SRTC, up to Rs. 300 on Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Uttarakhand, 20 per cent on Odisha and 10 per cent on Gujarat. On a long state-bus fare AbhiBus is the deeper shelf; on a short one the difference between a Rs. 300 and a Rs. 500 cap is usually academic, because neither cap binds.
Can I use a coupon and a bank offer on the same bus ticket?
On both sites, generally yes - one coupon code per booking, plus a payment offer applied at the payment step. That is why the bank caps matter as much as the coupon caps. RedBus's three credit-card codes (IDFC FIRST, RBL, Axis) are each stated at up to Rs. 500, the largest payment offers on either page. AbhiBus's card and UPI shelf is broader but shallower: up to Rs. 300 on RBL credit cards, flat Rs. 200 on SBI, 10 per cent up to Rs. 200 on Visa credit, Visa debit and AU Bank cards, and a set of smaller UPI and wallet cashbacks from Rs. 50 to Rs. 150 across BHIM, Amazon Pay, Paytm, MobiKwik and SBM ZET. Every one of these carries a terms-and-conditions marker, and we have not tested any combination at checkout.
Why can I not see the AbhiBus coupon codes on this page?
Because AbhiBus prints them on the offer creative - the image - rather than in the page text, and on 18 August 2026 we recorded what its offers page stated in words: the discount, the cap and who each offer is for. RedBus, by contrast, writes the code out beside each offer, which is why the RedBus tables on this page carry codes and the AbhiBus tables carry values. We have deliberately not carried over AbhiBus codes from an earlier read, because a code we cannot see on today's page is a code we cannot verify today - and bus coupon codes and caps change frequently. Our AbhiBus coupons page lists the codes we have verified most recently, and the offer tiles on AbhiBus's own site show the code on each creative when you open them.
Prices & codes last verified: 18 August 2026
Every discount, cap, percentage and eligibility note on this page was read on 18 August 2026 from the two sites' own offers pages: redbus.in/offers, which prints each coupon code as text beside its offer, and abhibus.com/bus-ticket-offers, which prints the code on the offer creative image rather than in the page copy. RedBus codes are reproduced exactly as that page printed them; AbhiBus offers are quoted by their stated discount, cap and eligibility, and we have deliberately not carried over AbhiBus codes from an earlier read, because a code not visible on today's page is not verified today. The counts quoted - 50 RedBus codes and 34 AbhiBus offer tiles - are our own count of what each page listed on that date. Neither site prints an expiry date on its offer shelf, and we cannot see minimum fare thresholds where an offer states none, whether an offer is app-only, or whether it is limited to first-time users of a payment method; every offer on both pages carries a terms-and-conditions marker and the full terms sit on each site. We have not tested any code at checkout on either site. This page compares published offer shelves only - it does not compare fares, routes, operator coverage, cancellation policies or service quality, and on most bookings the fare difference between two operators will exceed any of these discounts. Caps and eligibility on both sites change frequently - re-check before you pay. Zoutons may earn a commission if you book through links on this page; it does not change what you pay, and nothing here was reviewed or approved by AbhiBus or RedBus.
