We read 97 AJIO travel bag listings on 7 November 2026 and divided every stated MRP by its selling price. The answers run from 1.05x to 8.34x, and which one a bag gets has almost nothing to do with what it costs. A Rs. 1,299 Decathlon duffle undercuts a Rs. 1,499 trolley badged 88% off. The dearest bag on the page, Rs. 5,438, carries a 25% badge. Wildcraft prints both 4.02x and 1.28x on the same afternoon. Stated MRPs are the sellers' own reference prices. No bag was handled.
We read AJIO's own search results for travel bags, trolley bags and duffle bags on 7 November 2026 and did one piece of arithmetic on every row: stated MRP divided by selling price. The luggage-aisle labels — TEAKWOOD, Nasher Miles, ARISTOCRAT, SAFARI — land between 4.55x and 8.34x. The sports and fashion labels — Nivia, Decathlon, American Tourister, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Superdry, Adidas — land between 1.05x and 2.00x. The two groups overlap completely on price and not at all on badge.
Every price below was pulled from AJIO on November 7, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our AJIO coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

AJIO runs coupon codes and bank offers that stack on these figures and change by the day, and this read was made logged out, so none of them is in any price above. Compare the two selling prices, never the two badges — on this shelf a 24% listing can be cheaper than an 88% one. Divide the stated MRP by the price yourself: anything above about 4x tells you the seller set a high reference number, and anything near 1x tells you it did not. Do not read the absence of ratings as a verdict, because AJIO publishes no rating at all on any of these 97 rows — open the product page if you want reviews. And check the stated capacity in litres against the price, since the two Decathlon duffles here are 55L at Rs. 1,299 and 35L at Rs. 849, which is the only like-for-like comparison the shelf actually supports.

Each selling price and stated MRP was read from ajio.com's own search results for "travel bag", "trolley bag" and "duffle bag" on 7 November 2026, logged out, from India, with nothing bought. 97 listing rows were returned; 22 are seated here.
For every listing the stated MRP is divided by the selling price and the result is printed on the card. The range across the seated 22 runs 1.05x to 8.34x, and the badge percentage is simply the same number expressed differently — which is why the page ranks on the ratio rather than on the badge.
ARISTOCRAT 22 rows at a 74% median, SAFARI 10 at 81%, Tommy Hilfiger 6 at 49%, Puma 5 at 55%, Skybags 5 at 65%, Decathlon 4 at 31%, Nasher Miles 4 at 83%. Quoting a brand median off two seated cards would be meaningless, so every median in the text is computed over the full read and labelled as such.
AJIO publishes no star average and no rating count on any of these 97 listing rows, so none appears on this page — that gap is AJIO's. Capacities, materials and lock types are the sellers' own words, no bag was handled, and nothing here alleges that any stated MRP is false.
Of the 22 seated here, the Puma Plus lightweight portable bag II at Rs. 315, followed by the Nivia sports duffle at Rs. 352 and the Wildcraft duffle at Rs. 447. Note that the Nivia carries the smallest badge on the entire page, 5%, and the Wildcraft carries 75% — a Rs. 95 price difference and a 70-point badge difference. Prices read 7 November 2026 and AJIO changes them without notice.
Because the badge is calculated from the stated MRP, and the stated MRP is set by the seller. The Teakwood trolley at Rs. 1,499 states Rs. 12,499; the Decathlon duffle at Rs. 1,299 states Rs. 1,699. You pay Rs. 200 less for the Decathlon. The badge describes the reference price, not the bag. Setting an MRP above a selling price is ordinary retail practice and nothing on this page alleges otherwise.
Not on these listing rows. All 97 rows returned by AJIO's own search for travel bags, trolley bags and duffle bags on 7 November 2026 carried no star average and no rating count. Individual product pages may show reviews once opened; the search result does not. That is why no rating appears on any card here.
No, and this page does not claim it is. A high multiple tells you about the reference price the seller printed, not about stitching, wheels or zips — no bag here was handled. SAFARI and ARISTOCRAT are long-established Indian luggage names. The useful conclusion is narrower: if you are comparing two bags, compare the two selling prices and ignore both percentages.
AJIO runs coupon codes and bank offers that stack on top of these figures and change by the day, and this read was made logged out, so none of them is included in any price above. Sale events move the selling price; they rarely move the stated MRP, which is what makes the badge jump. Check the live page before buying.
