AJIO vs Myntra Carpet Prices September 2026: Sizes vs Reviews

We read every carpet, rug and floor-mat listing we could pull from both AJIO and Myntra on the same morning — 122 at AJIO, 95 at Myntra — expecting the difference to be about price. It is not. The medians are Rs. 580 and Rs. 765 and the median discount badges are 58 and 56 percent, which is about as close as two marketplaces get.

The difference is in what each one is willing to tell you, and the two shelves fail at opposite ends of the same problem.

AJIO states a size in 39 of its 122 titles and publishes a rating count on none of them. Myntra states a size on 3 of 95 and publishes a rating count on 44. One shelf tells you what you are buying. The other tells you what people thought of it. Neither tells you both, and for a floor covering you need both: the size decides whether it fits, and the reviews are the only evidence about quality that a listing page offers.

The structural difference is just as sharp, and it changes how you should read a price on either site.

AJIO's floor-covering aisle is concentrated: 22 brands across 122 listings, and a single one — AAZEEM — holds 55 of them, 45 percent of the shelf. Much of what you are comparing at AJIO is one supplier's range compared against itself.

Myntra's is fragmented: 40 brands across 95 listings, the largest holding nine, and 19 brands appearing exactly once. Almost nothing there is a name you would recognise, but almost nothing is the same seller twice either.

Practically: on AJIO, if AAZEEM's range does not have what you want, the shelf is much smaller than 122 listings suggests. On Myntra, the breadth is real but there is no brand reputation to lean on when the specifications run out — which, given that 3 listings in 95 state a size, they do almost immediately.

This is the part that surprised us, and it is worth stating plainly because it changes the advice: there is no cheaper shop here.

The medians are Rs. 185 apart on products whose sizes are mostly unstated, which makes even that gap hard to interpret — a cheaper median could simply mean smaller mats. The discount badges are within two points of each other. Both shelves print list prices several times the asking price at the top end: 5.00x at AJIO, 6.42x at Myntra.

What differs is range. AJIO goes further in both directions — three of its listings sit above Myntra's Rs. 3,920 ceiling and seven below its Rs. 272 floor. If you want a genuinely large room carpet, Myntra's shelf in this read simply stops before AJIO's does.

Having credited AJIO for disclosing sizes at ten times Myntra's rate, the qualification matters: five of those 39 sized listings state dimensions that are physically impossible for the product described.

Two RRC listings describe a ‘Room Carpet’ as 7 cm x 5 cm. Two Presto carpets, including the Rs. 9,307 listing that is the most expensive thing on either shelf, are given in inches as 7″ x 5″ and 2″ x 5″. A Saral Home rug at Rs. 500 is listed as 71′ x 20′ — 1,420 square feet.

These are almost certainly unit errors where feet were meant, and we are not suggesting anyone is being misled deliberately. The point is narrower and useful: on the shelf that does publish sizes, roughly one sized listing in eight publishes one you cannot act on. Check the dimensions on the product page even when the title gives you a number.

Measure the floor first and decide the size before you open either shop. On a category where 3 percent of Myntra's titles and 32 percent of AJIO's carry a dimension, the size has to come from you, and it has to come first.

Then pick the shop by what you are missing. If you know exactly what size you need and want to filter by it, AJIO gives you more to work with. If you want any evidence at all that other buyers were satisfied, only Myntra has it — and even there, check whether the rating count is shared across colourways, because we found seven Myntra bath rugs displaying one pooled 143-rating figure between them.

Ignore the badge on both. Fifty-eight percent and 56 percent medians on list prices reaching five and six times the asking price are telling you about the seller's chosen MRP, not about a saving. And on either shelf, open the product page and read the dimensions before you compare a single price.
