Zoutons Picks — Croma, September 2026

Sixty-one storage listings at one chain, divided by the capacity printed on them. A gigabyte costs between Rs. 2.88 and Rs. 39.91 here, thirty-five of the sixty-one tiles are one brand, and not a single one tells you how many people have rated it.

Prices & codes last verified September 14, 2026

The short of it Croma storage read 14 September 2026, 61 listings, 60 stating a capacity, median Rs. 12.88 per GB, median badge 34%. Cheapest per GB: Rs. 2.88 on a 5TB drive. Dearest: Rs. 39.91 on a UHS-II card. Deepest list price: Rs. 6,000 above a Rs. 434 stick. One drive, two prices: Rs. 28,649 and Rs. 33,999. Matches Amazon to the rupee: Rs. 1,599. No rating counts anywhere.

We read sixty-one storage listings on croma.com on 14 September 2026 and divided every price by the capacity printed in its own title. A gigabyte here costs between Rs. 2.88 and Rs. 39.91, and what moves it is format rather than brand — which is just as well, because thirty-five of the sixty-one tiles are SanDisk. Two things stand out. The list prices at the cheap end are extraordinary: a Rs. 434 pen drive with a Rs. 6,000 MRP above it. And not one listing on the shelf publishes a rating count.

Every price below was pulled from Croma on September 14, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Croma coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Four rules for buying storage at Croma

First: divide the price by the capacity. That single sum separates a Rs. 2.88 gigabyte from a Rs. 39.91 one on this shelf, and it needs no specialist knowledge. Second: buy the biggest capacity your use allows. The rule held on every family we seated — a 512GB stick is 46 percent cheaper per gigabyte than the 64GB from its own range, and a 5TB drive beats a 1TB by more than half. Third: check how many times Croma is listing your model. The SanDisk Extreme 2TB appears three times here at Rs. 28,649 and Rs. 33,999, and the Seagate One Touch 5TB three times at Rs. 19,849 and Rs. 20,649. Fourth: do not read a Croma star as evidence — 19 of 61 listings showed one and none showed a sample size. Our Amazon versus Croma storage comparison prices the same aisle at both.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: the six listings whose product photographs were byte-identical to another seated card, which on this shelf means one image doing duty for two capacities — that cost us the second SanDisk E62 Creator and one of the Extreme duplicates; the second and third listings of the SanDisk Extreme 4TB, the Extreme 1TB and the Seagate One Touch 5TB, all of which repeat a seated card at the same or a near price and are described on it instead; the eight further SanDisk Ultra Curve and Ultra Fair pen drives, since the chapter is already seven-eighths one brand; and a Nikon camera pouch, which is not storage.

What we look for

We divided every price by the capacity in the title

Sixty of the sixty-one listings state one, so the whole shelf can be priced per gigabyte. It runs from Rs. 2.88 to Rs. 39.91 per GB, a 14x spread, against a median of Rs. 12.88. The arithmetic is ours, on Croma's displayed price and the seller's stated capacity. Formatted capacity is always somewhat below the printed number, equally for everything here, so the comparison between listings holds.

We grouped by format, because format sets the price

Median per gigabyte on this shelf: external hard drives Rs. 4.21 across 18 listings, memory cards Rs. 14.83 across 9, pen drives Rs. 16.63 across 21 and solid-state drives Rs. 17.09 across 12. A spinning drive is roughly four times cheaper per gigabyte than a pen drive here, and the single cheapest gigabyte in the shop belongs to a 5TB drive at Rs. 2.88. Brand barely moves it — SanDisk sells at both ends.

We counted how much of this shelf is one brand

Thirty-five of the sixty-one listings are SanDisk, and the pen-drive aisle is almost nothing else. Seagate has six, WD five plus four under the Western Digital name, Lexar four, HP three and Toshiba three. That matters when you read a price here: on most of this shelf there is no second brand at the same capacity to check it against, which is the opposite of how a marketplace aisle behaves.

We looked for the rating counts, and there are none

Croma published a star average on 19 of the 61 listings and a rating count on none of them. Three drives show '5.0' with nothing behind it. A star average with no sample size cannot be weighed — a 5.0 from two buyers and a 4.3 from sixty thousand look identical on a tile. So this page carries no rating pills at all, quotes no stars as evidence, and says so on every card.

We did not test a single drive

This page prices listings. It does not measure read or write speed, verify a V30 or UHS-II class, check endurance or say anything about how long any of these hold data. Those are the claims that matter most on storage and the ones a listing page cannot settle. Where Croma lists what appears to be the same drive at several prices we report all of them rather than picking one.

FAQs

What is the cheapest way to buy storage at Croma?

A large external hard drive. The cheapest gigabyte in this read was a WD My Passport 5TB at Rs. 14,749, which works out at Rs. 2.88 per GB, followed by the 4TB version at Rs. 3.21 and a Seagate One Touch 5TB at Rs. 3.88. The hard-drive median across eighteen listings was Rs. 4.21 per gigabyte, against Rs. 14.83 for memory cards and Rs. 16.63 for pen drives. If what you need is space rather than speed, nothing else on this shelf is close.

Why does a Rs. 434 pen drive show a Rs. 6,000 MRP?

We can only report that it does. A SanDisk iXpand 64GB pen drive was listed at Rs. 434 against a Rs. 6,000 maximum retail price — a 13.8x multiple and a 93 percent badge, the deepest in this read and the largest we have recorded on any storage listing. The same page's SanDisk E62 Creator 2TB prints Rs. 1,50,500 above a Rs. 40,999 price. Across the whole shelf, though, only four of 61 listings print three times the price or more and the median badge is a modest 34 percent. Read the selling price and ignore the multiple.

Does Croma show how many people rated a product?

Not on storage. In this read Croma published a star average on 19 of 61 listings and a rating count on none of them, with three drives showing a bare '5.0'. That is why no star pill appears anywhere on this page. For comparison, Amazon showed both figures on 66 of its 67 storage listings the same morning, including 81,966 ratings on one SSD. If review evidence matters to your decision, it is not available on this shelf.

Is a pen drive or a memory card better value at Croma?

Cards, slightly, which is unusual. The memory-card median here is Rs. 14.83 per gigabyte against Rs. 16.63 for pen drives, mostly because Croma stocks no card smaller than 32GB — and tiny cards are what make this category expensive elsewhere. On Amazon the same morning the card median was Rs. 29.56 per GB, nearly double Croma's, driven by 8GB and 16GB listings that Croma simply does not sell. The real decision is what your device takes.

Does Croma list the same drive more than once?

Frequently, and at different prices. In this read the SanDisk Extreme 2TB portable SSD appeared three times at Rs. 28,649 and Rs. 33,999 — an 18.7 percent spread — the Extreme 1TB three times at Rs. 18,429 and Rs. 19,999, the Extreme 4TB three times at one price, and the Seagate One Touch 5TB three times at Rs. 19,849 and Rs. 20,649. We do not speculate about why duplicate listings differ. The habit that protects you is to search the model name and read past the first result.

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every selling price, MRP and discount badge here was read on 14 September 2026 from croma.com as served to a logged-out visitor in India. The per-gigabyte rates, the format medians and the MRP multiples are ours, computed from the displayed price and the capacity the seller states in the title. Stated capacity is a seller claim and is always more than a formatted device offers. MRPs are quoted because Croma displays them and are not treated here as evidence of a saving. No listing in this read published a rating count, so no star average is quoted as evidence anywhere. Nothing on this page tests read or write speed, endurance or real capacity.
