Croma Laptop Prices September 2026: Only 2 of 68 Under Rs. 50,000

The first thing to say about Croma's laptop aisle is not a price. It is that 83 of the 98 laptops we read carry no customer rating at all, and the highest rating count on any of the remaining 15 is three. Not three hundred. Three.

That is worth stating plainly on a shelf where the median machine costs over a lakh. Whatever you use to choose a laptop here — specifications, brand, the salesperson, a review site — it cannot be the star rating on the listing, because there effectively is not one. A 5.0 score from two buyers tells you nothing either way, and we are not going to present it as though it did.

This is a fact about Croma's site rather than about the machines, and it is not a criticism of the retailer: large-appliance and computing listings gather ratings slowly, and Croma sells a great deal through its physical stores where no online rating is left. But it changes what this page can honestly do. Everything below is about prices and stated discounts, which are checkable, and nothing below is a verdict on any machine.

Reading the two general laptop searches — 68 machines, setting aside the MacBook-specific search entirely — prices run Rs. 37,490 to Rs. 2,45,490 with a median of Rs. 1,03,990.

Only two of those 68 are under Rs. 50,000: an Acer Aspire 3 with an Intel Celeron N4500 at Rs. 37,490 and an HP 15-fd0489TU with a Core i3 13th Gen at Rs. 39,994. Four are under Rs. 60,000. If you arrived looking for a budget laptop, that is the entire selection, and the Celeron machine in particular is an entry-level chip rather than a cheap version of the others.

The bulk of the shelf sits between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 1,20,000 — 40 of the 68 — and 26 machines are above Rs. 1,20,000. That upper band is where the MacBooks, the Core Ultra 7 gaming machines and the OLED touchscreens live.

Grouped by brand, the aisle's median badge is 19% — and the spread between brands is much wider than the spread within them. HP's 15 machines run a median 28% off and Acer's seven the same; Asus is at 25%, Dell 22%, Lenovo 19%, MSI 18%, Samsung 16%.

Apple is the outlier and it is not close. Across all 45 Apple listings we read, the discount takes exactly two values: 7% on 18 of them and 3% on 12, with the rest at 7% in the general search. There is no Apple machine on this aisle at 10% off, or 15%, or 25%. A MacBook Air 13-inch M5 is Rs. 1,39,490 against a stated Rs. 1,49,900; the 15-inch is Rs. 1,67,490 against Rs. 1,79,900. Both are 7%.

That is Apple's pricing discipline showing through a retailer's shelf rather than anything Croma is doing, and it means the comparison a shopper actually faces is between a machine whose price is effectively fixed and machines whose stated MRPs leave room for a badge. Compare rupee prices and specifications; the percentage is telling you which brand you are looking at.

The Rs. 37,490 Acer runs an Intel Celeron N4500, which is a two-core entry processor — adequate for a browser and documents, not for much else. The Rs. 39,994 HP runs a Core i3 of the 13th generation with 8GB and a 512GB SSD, which is a more ordinary starting point.

From about Rs. 56,000 to Rs. 73,000 the shelf fills with Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5, Core i5 and Core Ultra 5 thin-and-lights, mostly with 16GB and 512GB. That band — 21 machines between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 80,000 — is where most buyers of a general purpose laptop will end up, and where the brands with the deeper badges (HP, Acer, Dell) are concentrated.

Entry gaming laptops start at Rs. 69,994 (MSI Thin 15, Core i5 13th Gen) and Rs. 71,990 (ASUS TUF, Ryzen 7). Note the pattern in the table: several of these carry a single rating or none, so the numbers beside them are prices and specifications only. Ten machines carry a badge of 33% or more. Two of them are the entry laptops already mentioned. The rest are mid and upper Windows machines: a Lenovo LOQ gaming laptop at Rs. 1,24,490 against a stated Rs. 2,30,290 (46%), an HP OMEN at Rs. 1,80,990 against Rs. 2,72,381 (34%), an HP OmniBook X Flip touchscreen at Rs. 1,21,990 against Rs. 1,87,879 (35%).

Those are large gaps between stated MRP and selling price on expensive machines, and we cannot verify whether any of those stated maximum retail prices was ever a live selling price. We make no claim either way and allege no wrongdoing by Croma or by any brand named. What we can say is that a Rs. 1,05,800 gap on the Lenovo is the largest single rupee gap on this aisle, and that it rests entirely on a stated figure we have no way to check.

Set against that, the machines with the smallest badges are the Apple ones at 3% and 7%, a Dell Ryzen 5 at 15% and an ASUS TUF at 16%. On this shelf, unusually, both the biggest and the smallest badges are attached to defensible-looking prices — which is another way of saying the percentage is not doing much work for you here.

Do not expect the ratings to help you. They are not there. Take the specification line seriously instead — processor generation, memory, storage and screen are all stated in these listing titles — and read reviews of the exact model number somewhere that has them.

Know which two machines are actually under Rs. 50,000. The shelf has an Acer Celeron at Rs. 37,490 and an HP Core i3 at Rs. 39,994, and then nothing until Rs. 55,990. If your budget is Rs. 45,000, this aisle is asking you to move in one direction or the other rather than offering a choice.

Compare a MacBook on price, not on badge. Apple's listings here are 3% or 7% off and never anything else, so a MacBook will always look like the worse deal and may still be the right machine. The reverse also holds: a 46% badge on a Rs. 1,24,490 gaming laptop rests on a stated Rs. 2,30,290 that we cannot verify.
