Croma's return policy is a replacement policy. The page says so in its first line, and it names change of mind — “Buyer's Remorse” — as an exclusion.
So the useful questions are narrower: how long you have (7 days, everywhere), when money actually comes back, and which procedural rules void a claim. All of it below, quoted from Croma's own page, read 2 September 2026.

Replacement-only: refunds only for wrong delivery or no stock
7 days for every category; 48 hours for a damaged phone or tablet
📅 Update log:
2 Sep 2026 — first published. Every rule, window, exclusion and quoted phrase was read from croma.com/cancellation-and-return as rendered to a logged-out visitor on 2 September 2026, with nothing purchased and no return, replacement or cancellation requested. The page carries no revision stamp of its own and Croma states it may change the policy without prior notice, so we re-read it and log what changes here.
Croma does not take returns because you changed your mind
The first line of Croma's policy page settles most of what people arrive looking for: “Croma offers a replacement-only policy, subject to meeting the specified replacement criteria as per brand warranty terms. Replacement will be provided within the return window only for defective or damaged products.”
There is no change-of-mind window. The page goes further and names the category explicitly under Exclusions — “Buyer's Remorse” — covering “heating, colour, size, feature-related dissatisfaction, or performance issues reported after the product has been used or activated”. Those are listed as not eligible for replacement or return.
Money comes back in two situations the policy names. One: the wrong product was delivered, in which case Croma accepts the return after a quality check and refunds it. Two: a replacement is owed but the same model is out of stock — “refund would be provided only in cases where the same product/model is not available in stock”.
| What happened | What Croma's policy says follows |
|---|
| You changed your mind | Nothing. The policy is replacement-only and lists “Buyer’s Remorse” as not eligible |
| Wrong product delivered | Return accepted after a quality check, then a refund |
| Product arrives damaged (home delivery) | Report before using or activating it → QC → replacement, or refund if out of stock |
| Product arrives damaged and you used it | “The request will be rejected, and no refund / no replacement will be provided” |
| Defective appliance | Brand inspects at your home; replacement on the brand’s confirmation, refund only if no stock |
| Defective phone, laptop, tablet or camera | You take it to a Croma store or brand service centre for a defect certificate first |
| Software problem | “Replacement/Refund is not applicable for any software-related issues” |
| Damage you caused | Replacement provided “only if the damage is not caused by the customer in any manner whatsoever” |
| Past the 7-day window | Repair support from the brand under its warranty terms only |
💡 The one thing to do at delivery: check the product before you use it. If a home-delivered item is damaged, the damage must be reported before it is activated or used — and if it has been used, Croma states the request will be rejected with no refund and no replacement.
The window is seven days, for everything
Croma publishes a category table of return and replacement windows, and it is unusually consistent: every one of the 26 categories listed — phones, laptops, tablets, desktops, cameras, TVs, soundbars, ACs, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, geysers, microwaves, dishwashers, chimneys, hobs, water purifiers, flour mills, vacuum cleaners, accessories — carries 7 days.
One shorter clock sits inside that. For a damaged mobile phone or tablet, the replacement request must be raised within 48 hours of delivery, and the policy says a request after that window will be rejected.
Cancellation runs on its own rule and it is the most generous part of the page: you can cancel any time before dispatch, and cancellation becomes impossible only once the order is out for delivery.
| Category | Window |
|---|
| Mobile phones, laptops, tablets, desktops, cameras | 7 days |
| Televisions (LED), home theatres, soundbars, Bluetooth speakers | 7 days |
| Air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, geysers | 7 days |
| Microwaves, built-in microwaves, OTG, dishwashers, water purifiers | 7 days |
| Electric chimneys, gas stoves, hobs, flour mills, water dispensers | 7 days |
| Vacuum cleaners, kitchen appliances, other accessories | 7 days |
| Damaged mobile phone or tablet (replacement request) | 48 hours |
| Cancelling an order | Any time before dispatch |
₹ Croma also reserves the right to cancel your order. The policy says it may do so “in case of unforeseen circumstances without any prior intimation to the customer”, with a full refund initiated for the order.
The seven rules that decide most rejected claims
Read the category sections and the same handful of conditions do the work in every one. They are worth knowing before the delivery arrives rather than after.
The strictest is on televisions, home theatres and soundbars: “Return/Refund will not be eligible if the product has been opened by the customer before the installation. The packaging has to be opened only by the Croma delivery associate or an authorized installation partner.” Unboxing your own TV forfeits the return.
The second is about buying in a store rather than online: Croma “will not accept claims for damage or scratches once the product has been handed over to the customer”, so the inspection has to happen at the counter.
| Rule | Where it bites |
|---|
| Do not open a TV or soundbar box yourself | “Return/Refund will not be eligible if the product has been opened by the customer before the installation.” Only the Croma delivery associate or authorised installer should open it |
| Do not switch on a damaged delivery | Damage must be reported before the product is activated or used, or the claim is rejected outright |
| 48 hours on a damaged phone or tablet | A damage replacement request outside that window “will be rejected”, even though the category window is 7 days |
| Check the box before you leave the store | For store pickups, Croma “will not accept claims for damage or scratches once the product has been handed over” |
| Install within 7 days, through the brand | Warranty eligibility requires installation by the authorised brand service centre, completed within 7 days of delivery |
| Keep the box, the MRP tag and everything in it | Returns need original condition plus the brand box, intact MRP tag, user manual, warranty card and all in-box accessories |
| Wipe your own data | For devices that store data, Croma says the customer must erase personal information and that Croma is not liable for it |
| Gift items carry no warranty | Listed as an explicit exclusion |
How a replacement actually gets approved
For a defective appliance — fridge, washing machine, AC, dryer, geyser, vacuum cleaner — Croma arranges for the brand to inspect the product at your home. The replacement is initiated on the brand's confirmation, and a refund only if the same model is unavailable.
For carry-in products — mobiles, laptops, desktops, tablets, accessories — the burden shifts to you: Croma's page says customers “will be guided to visit the nearest Croma store or the brand service centre to obtain a defect certification”, and the replacement follows from the brand's technical report.
In both paths, one line repeats across every category: replacement is eligible only for hardware issues certified by the brand, and “no replacement will be offered in case of software-related issues”. If your problem is software, the policy sends you to the brand's warranty terms, not to a refund. Within the return window but after installation, Croma says it will align a brand technician's visit within 2–3 working days — its helpline is +91 7207-666-000 and customersupport@croma.com.
| Refund step | What happens | How long |
|---|
| Product reaches Croma | Quality check on receipt | — |
| Refund processed | Croma initiates it | Within 2 working days |
| Money reaches you | Depends on the payment method used | 5 to 7 working days |
| If Croma cancels your order | Full refund, no prior intimation required | — |
How this page was read, and what it does not tell you
Every rule, window, exclusion and quoted phrase above was read from croma.com/cancellation-and-return as rendered to a logged-out visitor on 2 September 2026; a plain request is turned away by Croma's edge, so the page was read in a rendered browser session with nothing purchased, no order placed and no return or replacement requested. The page carries no revision date of its own, and Croma states that it “reserves the right to change or update the return policy without any prior notice” — the version live when you order is the one that governs it. This is a summary in our words with direct quotations, not a substitute for reading the policy, and it is not legal advice. We are describing a published policy rather than how it is applied: nothing here reports whether any individual claim is approved, how quality checks are judged, how long a brand technician actually takes, how Croma handles disputes, or what statutory rights a consumer may separately have under Indian law regardless of a retailer's stated policy. Store purchases, marketplace sellers, bulk or B2B orders and installation partners may operate under separate terms.
What to do, in order
Before the truck leaves. Inspect the carton. For a TV, soundbar or home theatre, let the Croma associate or authorised installer open it — not you. For a store pickup, check for scratches at the counter, because claims stop at handover.
In the first 48 hours. If a phone or tablet arrived damaged, raise the replacement request now, not on day six. For anything else damaged, report it before you switch it on.
Within 7 days. That is the whole window for every category, and it is also the deadline for getting an appliance installed by the authorised brand service centre if you want the warranty to hold. Keep the brand box, the intact MRP tag, the manual, the warranty card and every in-box accessory until you are sure you are keeping the product. If you are still deciding what to buy, our Croma appliance price page covers what the shelf charges.
The short version
Croma runs a replacement-only policy with a 7-day window across every category it lists, and refunds only where the wrong item was delivered or the replacement model is out of stock. Change-of-mind returns are not offered, and “Buyer's Remorse” is a named exclusion.
The rules that decide most cases are procedural: report damage before using the product, raise a damaged phone or tablet claim within 48 hours, never open a TV box yourself, inspect store purchases at handover, and get appliances installed by the brand's authorised service centre within 7 days. Refunds are processed within 2 working days of Croma receiving the product and take 5–7 working days to land.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I return a product to Croma if I simply don't want it?
No. Croma's policy page states plainly that it “offers a replacement-only policy” and that replacement is provided within the return window only for defective or damaged products. Change of mind is addressed directly under Exclusions as “Buyer's Remorse”: issues such as heating, colour, size, feature-related dissatisfaction or performance complaints reported after the product has been used or activated are listed as not eligible for replacement or return. Read from croma.com/cancellation-and-return on 2 September 2026.
What is Croma's return window?
Seven days for every category Croma lists — mobile phones, laptops, tablets, desktops, cameras, televisions, soundbars, home theatres, Bluetooth speakers, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, geysers, microwaves, OTGs, dishwashers, water purifiers, chimneys, gas stoves, hobs, flour mills, water dispensers, vacuum cleaners and accessories. One exception runs shorter: a damaged mobile phone or tablet replacement request must be raised within 48 hours of delivery. After the window, only brand warranty repair support applies.
When does Croma give a refund instead of a replacement?
In two situations named on the policy page. First, when the wrong product was delivered — Croma accepts the return after a quality check and initiates a refund. Second, when a replacement is due but the same product or model is not available in stock. Otherwise the remedy is a replacement certified by the brand. Refunds are processed within 2 working days of Croma receiving the product, and take 5 to 7 working days to reach you depending on your payment method.
Can I open my new TV box myself before installation?
Croma's policy says not to. For televisions, home theatres and soundbars it states: “Return/Refund will not be eligible if the product has been opened by the customer before the installation. The packaging has to be opened only by the Croma delivery associate or an authorized installation partner.” If the product is found non-working at installation, you need a job sheet from the technician stating that, and the replacement follows the brand technician's report.
How do I cancel a Croma order?
You can cancel any time before the order is dispatched; once it is out for delivery, the policy states the order cannot be cancelled. Croma separately reserves the right to cancel any order “in case of unforeseen circumstances without any prior intimation to the customer”, with a full refund initiated. For anything after delivery, Croma's listed contacts are its helpline on +91 7207-666-000, customersupport@croma.com, and the My Account section on croma.com.
