Most shipping pages are skimmed for one number. Minimalist's has four that matter, and the most expensive of them is a single sentence: "An additional Rs. 70 shipping fee applies for Cash on Delivery orders." No threshold removes it. It is attached to how you pay, not to how much you spend.
We read beminimalist.co's shipping policy first-party on 4 October 2026. Below: why the delivery promise is really three stacked windows rather than one, what the brand reserves the right to do to your pin code after you have paid, and the two clauses - no address edits, and split parcels - that quietly change what arriving on time means.
Verbatim, from the shipping policy

"An additional Rs. 70 shipping fee applies for Cash on Delivery orders."
📅 Update log:
4 October 2026 — First publication. Minimalist's shipping policy read in full from beminimalist.co: the Rs. 70 cash-on-delivery fee, the 48-working-hour dispatch promise, the 2-10 day courier window, the metro 3-day note, the 20,000 pin code figure, the post-placement serviceability clause and its 48-hour prepaid refund, the three-attempt rule and the split-shipment clause. Terms verified 4 October 2026.
Rs. 70 to pay at the door, and no basket size removes it
Minimalist's shipping page carries one line that costs money on every order placed a particular way, and it is easy to miss because it sits in a list of operational notes rather than at the top. Quoted exactly as published:
"An additional Rs. 70 shipping fee applies for Cash on Delivery orders."
The page attaches that fee to the payment method, not to the order value. There is no stated threshold above which it disappears, and no stated exemption. Read beside the brand's own storefront banner offering free gifts above Rs. 1,199, the arithmetic is plain: a large cash-on-delivery basket still pays the Rs. 70, while the same basket paid online does not.
For context on where that sits, this site has read the same clause at other Indian direct-to-consumer brands this year. Nykaa charges Rs. 70 below Rs. 299, which is a basket-size rule rather than a payment-method one. SuperBottoms charges a cash-on-delivery fee that is never zero. Perfora charges Rs. 65. Rs. 70 attached to the payment method with no escape threshold is at the firmer end of what this layer publishes.
Paying online on a small order is worth about Rs. 70 here. The policy names no order value at which the cash-on-delivery fee stops applying, so on a Rs. 400 order it is roughly 18% of the basket and on a Rs. 2,000 order roughly 3.5%.
Three delivery windows, on one page, five times apart
The page gives three separate figures for how long an order takes, and they do not describe the same thing. In the brand's own words:
"Orders are typically shipped within 48 working hours after receipt. Delivery by our logistics partner usually takes 2 to 10 days. Customers in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore" can expect the shorter end.
So the dispatch clock and the delivery clock are stacked, not alternatives. Forty-eight working hours to hand the parcel over, and then two to ten days in the courier network on top. The outer figure is five times the inner one, and the page does not say which is typical for a given pin code - only that major metros sit at the shorter end.
There is a fourth number worth knowing: "If you haven't received your order within 10 days, contact us at" the brand's support address. That is the page's own escalation trigger, and it lines up with the top of the stated delivery range rather than with the dispatch promise.
| What the page states | The figure Minimalist publishes |
|---|
| Dispatch after order | within 48 working hours |
| Courier delivery | usually 2 to 10 days |
| Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore | the shorter end of that range |
| Contact support if not delivered | after 10 days |
| Cash-on-delivery fee | Rs. 70, additional |
| Refund if cancelled as unserviceable | within 48 hours, prepaid orders |
| Delivery attempts before a call | three |
| Pin codes served | over 20,000 |
Your pin code can stop being serviceable after you have paid
This is the clause most worth reading in advance, because it describes something that happens after money has changed hands. The page states that serviceability is checked "based on the Pin Code at the time of order placement and also subsequently", and that "in exceptional cases, orders may be cancelled due to unserviceability, and refunds for prepaid orders will be credited within 48 hours of cancellation."
Two things follow. First, a successful checkout is not a guarantee of delivery - the brand reserves the right to cancel later if the network changes. Second, the 48-hour refund promise in that sentence is specific to prepaid orders cancelled for unserviceability. It is not a general refund timeline and the page does not present it as one; the brand's separate return policy governs refunds on returned goods.
The page also closes one door firmly: "Orders and addresses cannot be changed post-placement of order. Each order ships to a single specified address." If the address is wrong, the policy as published offers no edit path.
Check the address before you pay, not after. The page states that orders and addresses cannot be changed once placed, and that each order ships to one address only - so a split delivery to two addresses means two orders, and two cash-on-delivery fees if you pay at the door.
Three attempts, split parcels, and what the courier cannot help with
The operational clauses in Minimalist's own words
- Delivery attempts: "Courier partners make three delivery attempts. On failure, we'll contact you to arrange delivery."
- Split shipments: "Orders with multiple products may ship in separate packages with individual tracking numbers, potentially extending delivery time."
- Damaged or wrong item: the page directs you to contact the brand and adds that "Delivery partners will not be able assist in such cases" - the courier is explicitly not the route for a product problem.
- Addresses: "Ensure full and correct addresses including Pin Code are provided."
- International: the brand ships to countries including the US, UK, UAE, Malaysia and Indonesia from the nearest warehouse, and points international buyers to its global site.
- The caveat on all of it: "Delivery times are estimates and subject to factors affecting logistics."
The split-shipment clause is the one that quietly changes expectations. A three-product order can legitimately arrive as three parcels on three days with three tracking numbers, and the page says so in advance rather than treating it as an exception. If you are ordering for a date - a gift, a trip - the useful planning figure is the outer one, not the dispatch promise.
The line about delivery partners is worth reading twice too. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, the policy routes you to the brand rather than to the courier, and says plainly that the courier cannot help. That is clearer than most pages in this layer manage, and it saves a wasted phone call.
What this means before you order
Pay online unless you have a reason not to. The Rs. 70 cash-on-delivery fee is stated with no threshold, so it is pure cost on every such order regardless of size.
Plan on the outer window, not the inner one. Forty-eight working hours to dispatch plus two to ten days in transit is the published stack, and ten days is the page's own trigger for contacting support.
Get the address right the first time. It cannot be changed after placement, each order goes to one address, and the courier makes three attempts before falling back to a phone call.
None of this was tested by us. We did not place, pay for, track, receive or cancel an order, and every figure above is Minimalist's own published text on 4 October 2026. Policies change without notice; the page at the time of your order, and the terms shown at your own checkout, prevail over anything here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Minimalist charge for cash on delivery?
Yes. The shipping policy states it in one line: "An additional Rs. 70 shipping fee applies for Cash on Delivery orders." The page attaches that fee to the payment method rather than to the order value, and names no basket size at which it stops applying. Read on 4 October 2026; policies change without notice, so check the live page and your own checkout.
How long does Minimalist take to deliver?
The page gives three stacked figures. Orders are "typically shipped within 48 working hours after receipt", delivery by the logistics partner "usually takes 2 to 10 days", and customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore are told to expect the shorter end. The page also sets its own escalation point: contact support if the order has not arrived within 10 days. We did not place or track an order and cannot confirm what any pin code actually experiences.
Does Minimalist deliver to my pin code?
The page states delivery to "over 20,000 unique Pin Codes across India" and that serviceability is checked at the time of order "and also subsequently". That second word matters: the policy allows an order to be cancelled later if the pin code becomes unserviceable, with prepaid refunds credited within 48 hours of cancellation. The only reliable check is entering your pin code at the brand's own checkout.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering from Minimalist?
Not according to the published policy. It states that "Orders and addresses cannot be changed post-placement of order" and that "Each order ships to a single specified address." If you need two destinations, that is two orders as the page describes it - and two cash-on-delivery fees if you pay at the door. We did not test whether customer service makes exceptions.
Why did my Minimalist order arrive in more than one parcel?
The policy says in advance that it can. "Orders with multiple products may ship in separate packages with individual tracking numbers, potentially extending delivery time." So multiple tracking numbers for one order is described by the brand as normal rather than as an error. If a parcel arrives damaged or incorrect, the same page routes you to the brand and states that "Delivery partners will not be able assist in such cases."

Every quoted sentence, fee, window and condition here was read on 4 October 2026 from beminimalist.co/policies/shipping-policy, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased, no account created and no order placed; quotations are reproduced verbatim from the brand's own page, including its own spelling. The page itself states that delivery times "are estimates and subject to factors affecting logistics", so the figures described here are the brand's published estimates rather than guarantees, and none of them was tested by us - we did not place, pay for, track, receive, refuse or cancel an order, and we make no statement about what any pin code actually experiences. Policies change without notice: the shipping policy published on beminimalist.co at the time of your order, and any charges, thresholds or timelines shown at your own checkout, prevail over anything on this page. The Rs. 70 figure is the cash-on-delivery fee as stated on that page on that date and is not a price we have verified at checkout; the 48-hour refund figure applies, in the page's own wording, to prepaid orders cancelled for unserviceability and is not a general refund timeline, which the brand's separate return policy governs. Comparisons on this page to fees published by Nykaa, SuperBottoms, Perfora or any other retailer describe figures this site read from those brands' own pages on the dates stated in the linked articles and may since have changed. Nothing here alleges unfair trade practice, deficiency in service, a dark pattern, hidden charges or any breach of the Consumer Protection Act, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, the Legal Metrology Act or any other law, rule or guideline by Uprising Science Private Limited, by Minimalist or by any courier or payment partner, and no wrongdoing is alleged or implied; charging a cash-on-delivery handling fee, limiting address edits after placement, shipping an order in several parcels and re-checking pin code serviceability are ordinary and lawful commercial practices. Nothing on this page is legal advice, and a shopper with a disputed or undelivered order should rely on the brand's own published policy and customer service rather than on this summary.
