Amazon's Diwali gifting shelf sells boxes of between four and fifteen things. Divide by the count and the discount badge turns out to sort them backwards.
We read 38 Diwali gifting listings from Amazon's own search results on 23 October 2026. Eleven of them print an item count in the title - and divided out, one item in a hamper costs between Rs. 44.50 and Rs. 158.75. That is a 3.6x spread on boxes whose ticket prices differ by only 1.4x, which means the count, not the price, is where the value sits. The deepest discount badge on the shelf - 92%, against a stated MRP of Rs. 7,487 - belongs to one of the dearer items in the read, while the cheapest item of all carries a 34% badge. Diwali falls 6-10 November this year, so these are mid-run prices. Below, the shelf sorted by what you are actually handing over.
Every price below was pulled from Amazon on October 23, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Eleven listings print an item count. Divided out, the boxes sort in an order the discount badge never shows you.

Rs. 221, stated Rs. 250, badged 12%, 4.0 stars from 1,515 ratings published by Amazon
Why it earned its spot it is the recognised-brand kaju katli rate, which is the reference point for the two cheaper sweet boxes on this page.

Rs. 319, stated Rs. 699, badged 54%, 4.3 stars from 34 ratings published by Amazon
Why it earned its spot it states the highest piece count of anything in the read and divides to the lowest per-piece figure, which is also why it is not comparable to a hamper item.
First, divide by the item count before you compare two hampers. It is printed on the title of eleven listings here and it reorders them completely - the Rs. 445 box beats the Rs. 599 one by 40% per item. Second, treat the badge as decoration. The 92% listing on this shelf states an MRP 12.5 times its price and is not cheap per item; the 2% listing is one of the best-value things here by weight. Third, check the unit the tile actually gives you. Eighteen of the 38 print neither a count nor a weight, and there is no honest way to rank those against the ones that do. Fourth, read the contents list, not just the number. A fifteen-item box of sachets and a four-item box of full packs divide very differently and may be the same gift in practice - and if the recipient has a nut allergy, nothing on this page can tell you what is inside.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count came from amazon.in's own search results, read on 23 October 2026, logged out, from India, with nothing bought and customer service not contacted. The queries were "dry fruits gift pack", "chocolate gift pack", "diwali gift hamper" and "sweet box gift", returning 38 distinct listings, of which 24 are seated. Every count, median and range on this page is computed over all 38, excluding the three empty-box listings named below.
Eleven listings print an item count and divide to Rs. 44.50 to Rs. 158.75 an item; nine print a net weight and divide to Rs. 45.00 to Rs. 258.62 per 100 grams. We never compare the two columns with each other - a "item" can be a lamp or a sachet, and a gram of baklava is not a gram of ladoo. Eighteen listings print neither a count nor a weight; no rate is computed for them and none is guessed, and one of them is seated specifically to show that case.
A "diwali gift hamper" query returned packaging: VRB's 20 small gift boxes at Rs. 279, Divyakosh's 12 folding boxes at Rs. 279 and SATYAM KRAFT's 5 storage boxes at Rs. 499. These are containers, not gifts, and including them would have dragged the shelf's "cheapest per item" figure to Rs. 13.95. They are excluded from every number on this page and named here so you can see what was taken out.
Thirty-seven of the 38 listings publish a star average and review count; the median pool is 137 ratings, which is thin for a shelf this size. The deepest here is 8,626 and sits on a Rs. 99 chocolate pack; several hampers carry fewer than 40 ratings. No uniform editorial score is applied anywhere - the pill shows Amazon's own figures or nothing.
Nothing here was bought, unwrapped or eaten. No claim is made about freshness, shelf life, packaging quality, whether contents match the photograph, or whether any box is suitable for a nut allergy or a dietary restriction. Item counts, net weights and contents lists are the listings' own printed descriptions, reproduced and not verified, and our per-item and per-100g arithmetic inherits any error in them. A stated MRP is the figure a listing prints; nothing here says any such figure is false or improper.
The 38 listings in this read run Rs. 45 to Rs. 1,499, with a median of Rs. 499. The ticket price alone is not much use, because a "hamper" here holds anywhere from 4 items to 15. Divided by the item count the listing itself prints, one item costs Rs. 44.50 to Rs. 158.75 - a 3.6x spread on boxes whose tickets differ by only 1.4x. For single-food boxes the comparable figure is per 100 grams, which runs Rs. 45.00 to Rs. 258.62. These were the prices Amazon published on 23 October 2026; Diwali 2026 falls 6-10 November, so this shelf is priced mid-run and will move. Check the live listing before buying.
By cost per stated item, a 10-item Phool popup box at Rs. 445 - Rs. 44.50 an item, the floor of this read. Its 15-item boxes at Rs. 745 are close behind at Rs. 49.67. The ceiling is a four-piece hamper at Rs. 635, or Rs. 158.75 an item, 3.6 times more. One caveat we will not bury: four larger packs and fifteen small sachets are genuinely different gifts, and an item count treats them identically. Use the rate to narrow the field, then read the contents list on the tile.
Not on this shelf. The deepest badge in the read is 92%, on an 8-item hamper at Rs. 599 against a stated Rs. 7,487 - a 12.5x multiple - and it works out at Rs. 74.88 an item, 68% dearer per item than a box badged 34%. Across the read, the four deepest-badged hampers average Rs. 72.66 an item and the four shallowest average Rs. 57.90. The tidiest example is inside one brand: two nine-item boxes, badged 54% and 33%, at Rs. 599 and Rs. 499. The shallower badge is the cheaper box. A stated MRP is simply what a listing prints, and nothing here says any of these figures is improper.
Sweets, by a wide margin, on the weight rate. In this read besan ladoo works out at Rs. 45.00 per 100g and a sweet assortment at Rs. 99.25, while 400g dry-fruit gift boxes run Rs. 137.25 and Rs. 173.75 per 100g - and the dearest rate on the shelf is a 92.8g chocolate box at Rs. 258.62. Watch for the gap within a category: two boxes both stating 400g of almonds, cashews and pistachios sell at Rs. 549 and Rs. 695, badged 31% and 30%. Nut mixes differ in proportion and neither tile breaks that down, so read the rate as a starting point, not a verdict.
Because the query also returns packaging. Three listings in this read are empty boxes: 20 small gift boxes at Rs. 279, 12 folding boxes at Rs. 279 and 5 storage boxes at Rs. 499. They are containers you fill yourself, and because they state high piece counts they would sit at Rs. 13.95 to Rs. 99.80 an "item" and drag the cheapest-per-item figure on this page to a number that means nothing. We excluded all three from every statistic here and named them so the exclusion is visible. If you are buying to assemble your own hamper they are perfectly real products - just not comparable with a filled box.
