Forty fairy light listings read on 1 October, divided by the lengths they print. The cheapest metre of light costs Rs. 7.97; the dearest costs Rs. 116.33.
Fairy lights are sold by the box and bought by the wall, which is why the ticket price tells you almost nothing. Twenty-five of the forty listings on this shelf print a length in their own title, so we divided. The rate runs from Rs. 7.97 a metre to Rs. 116.33 - a 14.6x spread on one search page. A Rs. 99 listing is four times the rate of a Rs. 85 one, because it is three stated metres against thirty-five feet. Below: the cheap end, what the brand names cost, and the fourteen listings that all claim the same Rs. 999 list price.
Every price below was pulled from Amazon on October 1, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Twenty-five of the forty listings print a length in their own title. Five of them land between Rs. 7.97 and Rs. 9.95 a metre, and they are all the same kind of thing - a plain copper-wire pixel string, ten metres or more.
Rs. 85 for a stated 35 feet, which is the lowest rate in the read.
Why it earned its spot The cheapest metre of light here, before the pack maths on card 18.
A 32-foot Halonix at Rs. 79, Rs. 8.10 a metre, with an MRP you can at least read.
Why it earned its spot The cheapest ticket that is one string rather than a pack.
Rs. 85 for a stated 10.5 metres, one of only a handful priced in metric.
Why it earned its spot Same rate as card 02, with the length stated in metres.
A 36-foot Homesake at Rs. 89, sharing the shelf's default stated MRP.
Why it earned its spot The second of the two 91% badges, and the same Rs. 999 behind it.
A 38-LED, 10.5-metre GIGALUMI at Rs. 89 against a stated Rs. 249.
Why it earned its spot Shows how tightly the cheap end of this shelf is clustered.
Rs. 199 for a stated 20 metres, which is Rs. 9.95 a metre.
Why it earned its spot The longest run of light you can buy here in one piece.
Crompton, Philips, Eveready and Halonix all appear. They cost Rs. 12 to Rs. 24 a metre against Rs. 8 for the unbranded strings - and one of them holds both the highest rating count in the read and the lowest star average.
Crompton's 10-metre ladi light, Rs. 12.20 a metre, 4.3 stars.
Why it earned its spot The highest star average in the whole read.
Crompton's USB copper string: Rs. 129, 10 metres, 10,677 ratings.
Why it earned its spot The most evidence behind any listing on this shelf, by a factor of two.
Philips Starlit, 12 metres, Rs. 289, and a stated MRP of just Rs. 360.
Why it earned its spot What a credible list price looks like next to fourteen Rs. 999s.
Eveready's 33-foot pixel light at Rs. 106, rated 3.1 from 158.
Why it earned its spot A known brand with the worst published average here.
The RG-RB Eveready: Rs. 12 dearer, MRP Rs. 550 instead of Rs. 399.
Why it earned its spot Two tiles sharing one rating pool, and not sharing an MRP.
The multicolour Halonix: same stated 32 feet, Rs. 11.18 a metre.
Why it earned its spot Colour costs Rs. 30 on this shelf, and buys more ratings.
Fourteen of the forty state a maximum retail price of exactly Rs. 999, at selling prices from Rs. 85 to Rs. 699. These five show what that does to a badge - and what happens to the per-metre rate once the bulbs are shaped.
Three stated metres for Rs. 99: cheap ticket, Rs. 33 a metre.
Why it earned its spot The clearest example of a cheap ticket that is not a cheap rate.
Bubble-ball lights, 4.2 stated metres for Rs. 199.
Why it earned its spot Where the shaped-decoration premium starts.
Blossom-flower lights, 5 stated metres, Rs. 282 - Rs. 56.40 a metre.
Why it earned its spot The best-evidenced of the shaped strings.
Snowflake string lights: Rs. 299 for 10 feet.
Why it earned its spot Twelve times the rate of the cheapest listing here.
The same Gesto string in crystal star, Rs. 46 dearer than the snowflake.
Why it earned its spot The top of the per-metre table, and a stablemate Rs. 46 cheaper.
Four listings state an MRP below their own selling price and show 0% off. All four are multipacks, and in all four the stated MRP is the price divided by the pack count. One of them turns out to be the cheapest light in the read.
Ten 36-foot strings for Rs. 699, and a stated MRP that is one of them.
Why it earned its spot The cheapest light in the read, once you divide by the pack.
Two bottle cork lights for Rs. 89, with Rs. 44 in the MRP field.
Why it earned its spot The same defect, at the other end of the price scale.
Two 2-metre cork lights for Rs. 59, with Rs. 29 stated as the MRP.
Why it earned its spot Fourth of four, and the pack size is invisible on the search card.
First: divide by the length before you compare anything. Twenty-five of these forty listings print one, and the rate ranges from Rs. 7.97 to Rs. 116.33 a metre while the tickets only range from Rs. 59 to Rs. 899. The cheapest ticket in the read is not the cheapest light, and a Rs. 99 three-metre string costs four times a Rs. 85 thirty-five foot one per metre. Second: check the pack count, and check it on the product page. Four listings here are multipacks and two of them lose the 'Pack of 2' off the end of the title on the search card, because Amazon truncates at about 90 characters. The Rs. 699 pack of ten is the cheapest light on the whole shelf at Rs. 6.37 a metre, and nothing on its search card tells you that. Third: ignore the badge. Fourteen listings state an MRP of exactly Rs. 999 at prices from Rs. 85 to Rs. 699, which produces badges from 30% to 91% off one meaningless number; four more state an MRP below their own price and show 0%. The smallest badge in the read, Philips at 20%, sits on the most plausible list price. Fourth: decide whether you want light or decoration before you compare, because this one search returns both. A 46-LED pixel string over ten metres and a 14-LED crystal-star string over three are not alternatives to each other, and the second costs about twelve times as much per metre.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count on this page was read on 1 October 2026 from amazon.in's own search results for 'fairy lights for home decoration', logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. Forty listings were returned and 20 are seated. Nothing was bought, plugged in or hung.
Twenty-five of the forty listings state a length in their own title, in feet or in metres. We converted feet at 0.3048 m and divided the selling price by that stated length. We did not measure a single string: if a title says 35 feet, the rate on this page assumes 35 feet. The fifteen listings that print no length are excluded from every per-metre figure here.
Amazon's search results truncate titles at about 90 characters, and two of the four multipacks on this shelf lose their 'Pack of 2' qualifier off the end. We opened B097Q1YPHC and B08RF17D6J and read the full titles there. Every per-unit figure on this page divides by a pack count the listing itself states.
A snowflake or blossom string at 14 LEDs over three metres is not the same product as a 46-LED pixel ladi over ten, even though one search returns both. Where we quote the 14.6x spread in rate we say what sits at each end, and the per-metre comparisons inside each chapter are between like products.
'Waterproof', '360 degree', 'copper wire', 'BIS approved', LED counts, lighting modes and wattages are the listings' own printed text, reproduced as printed. We did not plug in, hang, weatherproof or run any of these lights. Mains decorative lighting is an electrical product and nothing here is a safety assessment.
In this 1 October 2026 read of 40 listings, selling prices ran from Rs. 59 to Rs. 899 with a median of Rs. 199, and 35 of the 40 were under Rs. 400. But the useful number is the rate: dividing each price by the length the listing prints gives Rs. 7.97 to Rs. 116.33 a metre, median Rs. 21. A plain copper-wire pixel string of ten metres or more sits around Rs. 8 to Rs. 13 a metre; a shaped decorative string of three metres sits at Rs. 33 to Rs. 113. These describe the 40 listings returned on that date, not Amazon's full catalogue.
Because they compute the badge from the same number. Fourteen of the 40 listings in this read state a maximum retail price of exactly Rs. 999, and their selling prices run from Rs. 85 to Rs. 699 - so one shared stated MRP produces badges from 30% off to 91% off. A second cluster states Rs. 1,999. An MRP is a figure the listing displays, and we have not verified that any of these lights was ever sold at it; no wrongdoing by Amazon or any seller is alleged. The practical response is to compare selling prices per metre and ignore the percentage entirely.
On this shelf, because it is a multipack. Four listings state an MRP below their own selling price and show 0% off, and in all four the stated MRP is the selling price divided by the pack count: Rs. 699 for a stated pack of ten states Rs. 69, Rs. 89 for two pieces states Rs. 44, and two Rs. 79 and Rs. 59 packs of two state Rs. 39 and Rs. 29. The likeliest reading is a per-unit figure sitting in a pack-level field. Two of the four do not show their pack size on the search card at all - Amazon truncates titles at about 90 characters - so we read those from the product pages.
By ticket, a Rs. 59 Lexton listing in this read - which is itself a stated pack of two 2-metre cork lights, so Rs. 29.50 each. By rate, the Rs. 699 One94Store pack of ten 36-foot strings: ten strings is 109.7 stated metres, or Rs. 6.37 a metre, the lowest in the read. If you want one string rather than ten, the cheapest rate is a Rs. 85 DesiDiya 35-foot pixel light at Rs. 7.97 a metre, with 5,464 ratings at 3.8. All three figures divide by lengths and pack counts the listings state themselves.
They cost more per metre and the ratings do not settle the question. In this read, Crompton's 10-metre strings were Rs. 12.20 and Rs. 12.90 a metre and Philips' 12-metre was Rs. 24.08, against about Rs. 8 for the unbranded pixel strings. Crompton holds both the highest star average here (4.3) and the most ratings by far (10,677), which is a genuine argument for the premium. But Eveready, an equally well-known name, holds the lowest average in the read at 3.1 from 158 ratings across two tiles that share one rating pool. We did not plug in or test any of these lights.
