Twenty-two beauty listings read on 26 September. Every product on this shelf is rated - but a Rs. 169 perfume carries 95,849 ratings and a Rs. 10,710 one carries sixteen.
Most shelves we read publish almost nothing - no ratings at all on AJIO, a median of four on Tata CLiQ. Nykaa is the opposite: all 72 listings we read on 26 September 2026 carry a star average and a rating count, 3.37 million ratings between them. The catch is where they sit. The 35 listings under Rs. 500 average 17,641 ratings each; the eight above Rs. 5,000 average 158. The shelf gives you the most evidence exactly where the decision is cheapest, and almost none where it costs five figures.
Every price below was pulled from Nykaa on September 26, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Nykaa coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

First: read the count before the star. This shelf's samples run from 12 to 632,588 and the tile shows both in the same typeface - the highest average on this page, a 4.6, rests on twelve people. Second: check whether two listings share a pool. Three products in this read show the same rating count on two different tiles at two different prices, so comparing the sizes on 'ratings' compares one number with itself. Third: do not wait for a discount on the well-rated stuff. The serum aisle's median badge is 12 per cent and every bottle over Rs. 5,000 is at exactly 15 - the big badges on this shelf, up to 66 per cent, all sit under Rs. 500. Fourth: buy fragrance on the fragrance. Ratings measure satisfaction reported by strangers with different noses, and on the designer aisle there are barely any of them to read.

Every selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count on this page was read on 26 September 2026 from nykaa.com's own listing data for four queries, logged out, in India. 72 distinct listings returned all five figures. Nothing was bought.
All 72 listings here publish a rating, but the samples run from 12 to 632,588. A 4.6 from 12 people and a 4.4 from 632,588 look identical on a tile and are not remotely the same claim, so no star on this page appears without its count beside it.
Several products appear on more than one listing - two sizes of one serum both showing 103,377 ratings, one lotion twice at 64,075, another twice at 17,641. Where we found a shared pool we say so on the card and count it once, because treating it as two independent samples would overstate the evidence.
Ingredient percentages in product names - 10% niacinamide, 2% kojic acid, 0.1% retinol and the rest - are the listings' own printed text, reproduced and not verified. Nothing here was bought, opened, applied or patch-tested, and no claim about efficacy, suitability, dermatological safety or results is made or implied. This page is about prices and published evidence, not skincare advice.
It depends entirely which end of the aisle you are in. In our 26 September 2026 read, the 17 perfume listings ran from Rs. 106 to Rs. 10,838 - a 102-fold spread - with a median of Rs. 1,424. Mass-market sprays, mists and eau de parfums sat between Rs. 106 and Rs. 235; designer bottles from Versace, Valentino, Lancome, PRADA, Azzaro and Giorgio Armani ran Rs. 5,865 to Rs. 10,838. The median displayed discount across the aisle was 15%.
They are barely reviewed at all. The eight listings over Rs. 5,000 in our read carried a median of 158 ratings each - individually 12, 16, 41, 75, 240, 787, 1,330 and 1,762 - or 4,263 ratings between all eight. By comparison, a single Rs. 169 bottle carried 95,849 and the 35 listings under Rs. 500 averaged 17,641 each. That is not a judgement on the fragrances; it means you cannot use ratings to choose between them, and should buy on the scent instead.
Very little. The 18 face serum listings in this read showed a median displayed discount of 12%, the thinnest of the four categories we read, and several of the best-reviewed serums - with 89,966, 103,377, 135,623 and 145,779 ratings - were badged at just 10 to 20% off. Body lotion was the most discounted aisle at a median 30%. Across all 72 listings the stated MRP was a median 1.18 times the selling price, so the strike-throughs here are modest by Indian retail standards.
Because the rating pool is attached to the product rather than the individual listing. In this read, a 10% vitamin C serum appeared at Rs. 629 and Rs. 269 in different sizes, both displaying the identical 103,377 ratings; a body lotion appeared twice at Rs. 311 with 64,075 each and another twice at Rs. 299 with 17,641 each. It is not an error, but it does mean the two tiles are showing you one piece of evidence twice - check the count before treating them as separate confirmations.
In our read the cheapest listing of any kind was a fragrance mist at Rs. 106, which carried 4,310 ratings - on its own, more than all eight designer bottles in the read combined. The cheapest eau de parfum was Rs. 135, which also carried the biggest badge on the shelf at 66% off. The cheapest body lotion was Rs. 203 and the cheapest face serum Rs. 195. The sub-Rs. 500 end is where both the discounts and the ratings are concentrated.
