One hundred and fifty Tata CLiQ listings, five searches, one morning - 28 September 2026. The footwear was 50% off at the median. The apparel 40%. The trimmers 34%. The helmets were 7%, and eleven of them were discounted by exactly one rupee.
The shelf turns out to be just two brands doing two completely different things: one selling open-face helmets at a flat list price across eighteen tiles, the other selling cycling helmets from Rs. 1,099. Below: both halves in full, why the badge tells you nothing here, and the rating problem that makes this a shelf to approach carefully.
📅 Update log:
28 September 2026 — first published. All 150 listings were read the same morning from tatacliq.com's own marketplace search response for 'helmet', 'football', 'yoga mat', 'socks' and 'trimmer', logged out, in India, with nothing purchased; 39 of them are helmets. Every price, stated MRP, badge and rating count on this page was read on that date.
Eleven helmets discounted by exactly one rupee
We read 150 Tata CLiQ listings across five searches on the morning of 28 September 2026 - helmets, footwear, fitness gear, trimmers and apparel - logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. The helmet shelf has a median discount badge of 7%. Every other shelf in the same pull sits between 30% and 50%.
The reason is one brand and one number. TVARRA holds 18 of the 39 helmet listings, every single one of them stating an MRP of Rs. 2,950. Eleven of those 18 sell at Rs. 2,949. That is a discount of one rupee, and the tile duly displays 0%.
The other seven TVARRA listings sell at Rs. 2,749, which is 7% off the same stated Rs. 2,950. So across 18 tiles that brand offers exactly two prices and exactly two percentages. There is nothing improper about that - a brand is entitled to sell at its list price - but it is worth knowing that on this shelf the discount badge has almost no information in it.
| Tata CLiQ shelf, read 28 Sep 2026 | Listings | Median price | Median badge |
|---|
| Helmets | 39 | Rs. 2,749 | 7% |
| Footwear | 21 | Rs. 1,400 | 50% |
| Home furnishing | 16 | Rs. 1,299 | 41% |
| Apparel | 13 | Rs. 1,290 | 40% |
| Trimmers and electronics | 25 | Rs. 999 | 34% |
| Fitness and wellness | 21 | Rs. 1,149 | 32% |
| Beauty and grooming | 15 | Rs. 1,999 | 30% |
The one-line version: on this shop, on this morning, the one product whose entire job is to protect your head was the one product with no discount on it. Everything else in the pull was 30% to 50% off. If you are waiting for a helmet sale on this shelf, the evidence says there isn't one to wait for.
The shelf is exactly two brands
There is no long tail here. All 39 helmet listings belong to TVARRA (18) or Decathlon (21) - no marketplace labels, no third brand, nothing in between. That is unusual on a marketplace shelf and it explains a lot of what follows.
The two halves are also different products. TVARRA's 18 are open-face helmets - the motorcycle-style shape - sold in a spread of colourways and two sizes, which is how a handful of designs becomes eighteen tiles. All at the same Rs. 2,950 stated MRP.
Decathlon's 21 are cycling and climbing helmets: Btwin and Rockrider bike helmets, Van Rysel road helmets, a Simond mountaineering helmet. They run Rs. 1,099 to Rs. 8,199 with a median of Rs. 1,999, and their badges run 6% to 38% with a median of 15%. Not one Decathlon listing shows 0%. So even the shallow end of this shelf has two different shallow ends.
| Brand | Listings | Price range | Stated MRP | Badges shown | Type |
|---|
| TVARRA | 18 | Rs. 2,749 and Rs. 2,949 | Rs. 2,950 on all 18 | 0% on eleven, 7% on seven | Open-face |
| Decathlon | 21 | Rs. 1,099 to Rs. 8,199 | Rs. 1,199 to Rs. 10,399 | 6% to 38%, median 15% | Cycling and climbing |
If you are buying on price, the shape of that table matters more than any percentage. Decathlon's cheapest helmet in this read is Rs. 1,099 and its median is Rs. 1,999 - both well below TVARRA's floor of Rs. 2,749. But they are not substitutes: a bicycle helmet is not a motorcycle helmet and neither of us should pretend otherwise.
Within Decathlon, the money spreads the way you would expect. Children's bike helmets at Rs. 1,999 and Rs. 2,599, an adult mountain-bike helmet at Rs. 2,899, a Rockrider Feel 900 MIPS at Rs. 5,199, Van Rysel road helmets at Rs. 6,199 and Rs. 8,199. The deepest badge on the shelf, 38%, is on a Simond climbing helmet at Rs. 4,999 against a stated Rs. 8,099.
Four of the 39 listings have a rating. Each has exactly one.
This is the part that would give us most pause. Thirty-five of the 39 helmet listings publish no customer rating at all. The four that do each publish exactly one rating.
It is not that Tata CLiQ shows nothing anywhere - across all 150 listings in this pull, 57 publish a rating, including 21 of the 25 trimmers and 15 of the 21 footwear listings. The helmet shelf is unusually bare even by this shop's standards, and helmets are a category where you cannot judge the thing that matters from a photograph.
We would also note what the titles do not say. None of the 39 titles prints 'ISI'. That is a statement about the text of 39 listing titles and nothing more - it is not a claim that any helmet is uncertified, and we have made no finding either way. Indian law requires an ISI mark on motorcycle helmets, so if you buy one here, check the full product page for the certification and check the physical mark on the shell when it arrives.
What we would actually do
Do not shop this category on the badge, because there isn't one. The median helmet discount here is 7% and eleven listings are discounted by a single rupee - whereas the footwear two clicks away is at 50%. Compare rupee prices and specification instead, and compare them across shops.
If you want a bicycle or mountain-bike helmet, this shelf is genuinely usable: Decathlon's 21 listings run Rs. 1,099 to Rs. 8,199 at a median of Rs. 1,999, they are all one brand's own range, and the model names (Btwin Move 500, Rockrider Expl 500, Rockrider Feel 900 MIPS, Van Rysel RCR MIPS) are specific enough to price anywhere else in a minute.
If you want an open-face motorcycle helmet, understand what you are buying into: one brand, one stated MRP of Rs. 2,950, two prices, and a single published rating across the entire eighteen tiles. On a purchase where the only thing that matters is certified impact protection, we would want more than that before committing - check the certification on the product page, and compare against shelves that publish real rating counts. Nothing on this page was bought, worn or tested; it is a record of what Tata CLiQ listed on 28 September 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are helmets discounted on Tata CLiQ?
Barely, in our 28 September 2026 read. The 39 helmet listings had a median discount badge of 7%, against 30% to 50% on every other shelf in the same pull - footwear 50%, home furnishing 41%, apparel 40%, trimmers 34%, fitness 32%, beauty 30%. Eleven helmet listings sold at Rs. 2,949 against a stated MRP of Rs. 2,950, a discount of one rupee shown as 0%. A brand selling at its own list price is entirely ordinary and no wrongdoing by anyone is alleged.
Which helmet brands does Tata CLiQ sell?
Only two appeared in this read. TVARRA held 18 of the 39 listings and Decathlon held 21 - there were no marketplace labels and no third brand. They are different products: TVARRA's are open-face helmets in various colourways at Rs. 2,749 or Rs. 2,949, while Decathlon's are cycling and climbing helmets (Btwin, Rockrider, Van Rysel, Simond) running Rs. 1,099 to Rs. 8,199.
What does a helmet cost on Tata CLiQ?
In this read, Rs. 1,099 to Rs. 8,199 across 39 listings, with a median of Rs. 2,749. The cheapest were Decathlon bike helmets - a Btwin children's helmet at Rs. 1,999, a Rockrider kids' Expl 500 at Rs. 2,599, an adult Rockrider Expl 500 at Rs. 2,899 - and the dearest a Van Rysel RCR-F MIPS road helmet at Rs. 8,199. Every TVARRA open-face helmet sat at either Rs. 2,749 or Rs. 2,949.
Do Tata CLiQ helmet listings have customer reviews?
Almost none. Four of the 39 helmet listings published a rating, and each of those four published exactly one rating. That is worse than the rest of the shop on the same morning - across all 150 listings in this pull, 57 published a rating, including 21 of 25 trimmers. For a product whose performance you cannot assess from a photograph, we would want to check a shelf that publishes real rating counts before buying.
Do these helmets have an ISI mark?
We cannot tell you from a listing title, and we are not suggesting otherwise. What we can report is that none of the 39 titles in this read printed the word 'ISI' - that is a fact about listing text and nothing else, and it is not a finding that any product is uncertified. Indian law requires an ISI mark on motorcycle helmets. Check the full product page for certification details before ordering and check the physical mark on the shell when it arrives; we did not handle or inspect any helmet.

Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count was read on 28 September 2026 from tatacliq.com's own marketplace search response for 'helmet', 'football', 'yoga mat', 'socks' and 'trimmer', logged out, in India, with nothing purchased, leaving 150 distinct listings of which 39 are helmets. Every count, median and range on this page describes those listings on that date rather than Tata CLiQ's full catalogue, and a product sold there that did not appear in these searches does not appear here. Search results are partly personalised and change continuously, so a different reader will not see the same set. An MRP is the figure the listing displays and we have not verified that any product sold at it, so every percentage on this page is arithmetic over two numbers the seller chose rather than a measured saving; selling at or near a stated list price is entirely lawful and ordinary, stating a high MRP is legal and commonplace across Indian retail, and no wrongdoing by Tata CLiQ, TVARRA, Decathlon, Btwin, Rockrider, Van Rysel, Simond or any other brand or seller named or unnamed is alleged or implied. Where this page reports that one brand holds many listings across colourways and sizes, it describes the tiles the shelf returned on that date; listing one design under several tiles is ordinary marketplace behaviour. The statement that none of the 39 titles prints 'ISI' is a statement about the text of those listing titles on that date and nothing more: it is NOT a finding, claim, suggestion or implication that any helmet sold by Tata CLiQ, TVARRA, Decathlon or any other party lacks certification, fails to meet any standard, or is unlawful to sell, and we have made no enquiry and reached no conclusion on any product's certification status. Indian law requires an ISI mark on motorcycle helmets; readers should check the full product page and the physical mark on the shell, and should not treat the absence of a word from a listing title as information about a product. Shell materials, MIPS, stated weights, ventilation counts, size designations and every other description quoted here are the listings' own printed text, reproduced as printed and not verified. We did not buy, unbox, wear, fit, drop or impact-test any helmet on this page; protective performance, certification, fit, sizing accuracy, strap and buckle integrity, visor quality, shell durability and warranty service have not been examined by us and no claim about them is made or implied. A helmet is safety equipment and nothing on this page is safety advice or a recommendation to buy or not buy any product; a bicycle helmet is not a motorcycle helmet and the two are not interchangeable. Rating counts reflect how long a listing has been selling as much as product quality. Product photographs are the listings' own images as published by Tata CLiQ. Prices change without notice and can differ at checkout after coupons, bank offers or delivery charges; the price shown at your checkout prevails over anything here.
