Two marketplaces, two winter shelves, the same two search words. We read shawls and blankets on Tata CLiQ and on Amazon within the same hour on 26 October 2026 - 161 listings between them.
Not one brand appears on both. Tata CLiQ's median shawl is Rs. 1,561 and Amazon's is Rs. 555; 42 of Amazon's 47 shawls are under Rs. 1,000 and four of Tata CLiQ's 36 are. These are two different markets wearing the same label.

Not a single brand appears on both shelves, and the prices are two to three times apart. Tata CLiQ's median shawl is Rs. 1,561; Amazon's is Rs. 555. Whatever else this is, it is not one market with two prices.

The under-Rs. 1,000 row is the whole story. Forty-two of Amazon's 47 shawls cost less than a thousand rupees; four of Tata CLiQ's 36 do. Tata CLiQ's shelf is W, Aurelia, true Browns, Indo Era and Monte Carlo - labels with their own stores and their own price architecture. Amazon's is Weavers Villa, its own Myx house brand and a long tail of unbranded Kashmiri-style weaves starting at Rs. 169. Neither shelf is overpriced for what it is; they are simply not the same shelf.

The blanket shelves are closer than the shawl shelves - Amazon's median is Rs. 749 against Tata CLiQ's Rs. 1,319, so about 1.8x rather than 2.8x - but the review gap is wider. Every one of Amazon's 47 blanket listings publishes a star average and a rating count, with a median of 1,158 ratings. On Tata CLiQ, 14 of 31 publish one, and the median count among those is two.
Tata CLiQ's blanket shelf also skews to kids' and baby bedding - Haus & Kinder hooded baby blankets at Rs. 289, kids' 450 GSM blankets at Rs. 949 - where Amazon's "blanket double bed" results are overwhelmingly adult polar fleece and AC blankets. The queries were the same; the inventory behind them is not.
GSM is the only warmth number either shelf publishes, and only about four in ten listings state it. Twenty-one of Tata CLiQ's 31 blankets and 20 of Amazon's 47 print a GSM figure in the title. The badge is deepest where the goods are cheapest
Amazon's blanket badges run a median 67% against Tata CLiQ's 44%, and its shawl badges 55% against 44% - on stated MRPs that are themselves much lower (Rs. 1,999 against Rs. 2,499 on blankets; Rs. 1,199 against Rs. 3,299 on shawls). The cheaper shelf advertises the bigger saving while claiming the smaller original price, which is the pattern we keep finding across Indian marketplaces this month.
One Tata CLiQ cluster shows how little the badge separates: four Indo Era shawls in four colours, each at Rs. 599 against a stated Rs. 3,299 - an identical 82% badge, the deepest on that shelf, and three of the four publish no rating at all. The colour is the only variable.
Which shelf you should actually be on
If you want a specific label - W, Aurelia, Indo Era, Monte Carlo - Tata CLiQ is where they are, and there is no Amazon listing for most of them in this read. Expect to pay Rs. 1,500 and up for a shawl, and expect no review history to read: three of 36 shawls carry a rating and each of those has one.
If you want a warm thing at a low price with evidence behind it, Amazon's shelf is cheaper and far better documented - every blanket listing rated, a median of 1,158 ratings, and 32 of 47 under Rs. 1,000. Check the GSM before the badge on either site, and remember that the two shelves share no brands, so "the same blanket cheaper elsewhere" is not a comparison either of them lets you make.
