Sixty-five phone case listings read on one morning. Two thirds of them claim the identical list price, which means the discount badge on this shelf tells you nothing the price does not.
We read Flipkart's phone case shelf on 10 October 2026: 65 listings, Rs. 123 to Rs. 438. The striking figure is not a price. Forty-three of those 65 listings state exactly Rs. 999 as their MRP — sixteen brands, forty-three handsets, six materials, one list price. With that number frozen, every badge from 66% to 87% is just the selling price read backwards, and the cheapest case on the shelf advertises a shallower discount than eleven dearer ones.
Every price below was pulled from Flipkart on October 10, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Flipkart coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Four checks before you tap buy. First, ignore the percentage entirely. Two thirds of this shelf states the same Rs. 999 MRP, so the badge ranks by price and nothing else; the Rs. 123 cheapest case shows 82% while a Rs. 134 case shows 89%. Second, sort by price, then read the rating count. This is one of the few accessory shelves with genuinely large pools — 16,361, 16,118, 9,153 and 6,982 among the listings seated here — and two seated listings have no rating at all. Third, check whether you are looking at the same case twice. Two Doubledicestore iPhone 16 listings share one 9,153-rating pool at Rs. 139 and Rs. 160, and two Flipkart SmartBuy iPhone 15 listings share 16,118; an identical rating count on two tiles is the fingerprint. Fourth, expect to pay more for a less common handset. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 15 draw five and six listings here and the cheapest prices; the Nothing Phone 3A Lite draws one, at twice the floor. This is a price page: nothing here was bought, unpacked, fitted, dropped or tested, and no case is assessed for protection, grip, fit or water resistance.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count here came from what flipkart.com's own search returned for the query 'mobile cover' over two pages on 10 October 2026, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. 65 rows came back and 22 are seated. Every count, range and median on this page is computed on all 65 rows, not on the seated ones.
43 of the 65 rows state exactly Rs. 999 as their MRP. Those 43 carry 16 distinct brand names, fit 43 distinct handset models, describe themselves in six different materials, and sell between Rs. 128 and Rs. 338 with badges from 66% to 87%. The remaining 22 rows state Rs. 299, Rs. 499, Rs. 699, Rs. 799, Rs. 899, Rs. 1,199, Rs. 1,200, Rs. 1,499, Rs. 1,730 or Rs. 1,999.
Two Flipkart SmartBuy iPhone 15 listings both display 4.2 from 16,118 ratings, and two Doubledicestore iPhone 16 listings both display 4.2 from 9,153 at Rs. 139 and Rs. 160 — identical pools, so one product under two tiles. By contrast Micvir's 18 listings carry 18 different rating counts, so those are genuinely separate listings for separate handsets. One of each duplicate pair is seated and the twin is named in its card.
Nothing on this page verifies that any case was ever sold at its stated MRP, so every percentage and every multiple here is arithmetic over two numbers a seller chose. Setting a maximum retail price and choosing how deeply to discount are ordinary lawful commercial decisions, and a shared stated MRP across many sellers is reported as a published fact and nothing more.
Two of the 22 seated listings publish no rating at all. No card carries a rating pill unless Flipkart published a star average backed by at least 100 ratings, and where there is none the spec strip says so instead of substituting a score of our own. Nothing on this page was bought, unpacked, fitted to a phone, dropped or tested for protection, fit, grip or water resistance.
In this read of 65 listings on 10 October 2026, a caseunik silicone case with a camera bump protector for the Realme 8i at Rs. 123, followed by a Doubledicestore iPhone 13 case at Rs. 128 and two ZAMN cases at Rs. 133. The median selling price across all 65 was Rs. 154. Note that the cheapest listing is not the one advertising the biggest discount — it shows 82%, while eleven dearer listings show more, because its seller states a Rs. 699 list price rather than Rs. 999. Those figures describe these listings on that date, not Flipkart's full catalogue.
It is the single commonest figure on the shelf: 43 of the 65 listings read state exactly Rs. 999, across 16 different brand names, 43 different handset models and six different claimed materials, while selling from Rs. 128 to Rs. 338. This page reports that as a published fact and makes no claim about why. Setting a maximum retail price, revising it and choosing how deeply to discount are ordinary and lawful commercial decisions, and nothing here alleges that any stated MRP is false, inflated or improper. The practical consequence is only that the discount percentage on this shelf carries no information the selling price does not.
This page cannot tell you, because nothing on it was bought, unpacked, fitted to a handset, dropped or tested. What it can report is the price spread: the cheapest case read was Rs. 123 and the dearest Rs. 438, with a median of Rs. 154, and the dearest listings advertise shallower discounts than the cheapest. Materials, drop protection, MagSafe compatibility and water resistance are all the listings' own printed claims, unverified here. A more expensive case may well protect a phone better and nothing on this page says otherwise.
Compare the rating count. Two Flipkart SmartBuy iPhone 15 listings in this read both display 4.2 from the identical 16,118 ratings, and two Doubledicestore iPhone 16 listings both display 4.2 from 9,153 while selling at Rs. 139 and Rs. 160. An identical pool across two tiles means one product shown twice, and the price can differ by Rs. 21 between them. For contrast, Micvir's 18 listings in this read carry 18 different rating counts from 616 to 3,670, so those are genuinely separate listings for separate handsets. Pooling reviews across variants is an ordinary marketplace practice and no wrongdoing is alleged.
On this shelf, no. With 43 of 65 listings claiming the identical Rs. 999, sorting by discount sorts by price ascending within that block and mixes it badly with everything outside it. The clearest example on the page is the TrendyCloud flip cover at Rs. 175 against a stated Rs. 299: it advertises 41%, the shallowest badge in the read, while costing more than 40 of the 65 listings. A seller who states a realistic list price ends up looking worse on a sorted shelf. Sort by price, then read the rating count.
