Myntra's homepage and men's page switched to a Big Fashion Festival "Early Bird Days" banner this week, promising sale prices before the sale itself, with a 10% instant discount on HDFC Bank credit cards alongside. No main-event date is on the banner yet. We swept the men's page section by section on October 1, 2026, keeping only listings under Rs. 2,999 with at least 500 reviews and a real cut off MRP, then re-checked every price on its product page. The result is 23 picks from Rs. 593 to Rs. 2,694: Levi's 512 jeans at Rs. 929, a Louis Philippe cotton Oxford at Rs. 1,424, Puma Smashic sneakers at 65% off, a mustard cotton kurta for Navratri at Rs. 839, a Tommy Hilfiger leather wallet rated 4.7, and a Safari suitcase at Rs. 1,999 for the Diwali trip home. Roles, not rankings: best overall, biggest steal, best gift.
We read both men's sandal shelves on the same morning, 28 September 2026 - 36 listings on AJIO and 32 on Myntra. The median prices are Rs. 717 and Rs. 701, and the median stated MRPs are Rs. 2,199 and Rs. 2,245 - both pairs within 2% of each other. The discount badges, however, read 53.5% and 67%. The badge gap is not a price gap. The difference that should actually decide it: AJIO published no rating at all on any of its 36 listings, while Myntra published one on 27 of 32 at a median of 989 ratings and 4.19 stars. Three brands sell on both, and an El Paso slide is within nine rupees on each shelf while showing 76%, 77% and 81% off.
We read Myntra's men's and women's boots shelves on 23 September 2026 - 65 listings with a price and a stated MRP, 20 seated here. The product name 'The Roadster Lifestyle Co Men Round Toe Slip-On Chelsea Boots' appears at Rs. 717, Rs. 724, Rs. 1,083, Rs. 1,351 and Rs. 1,399, against two different declared MRPs. Four El Paso listings at exactly Rs. 1,229 all display the same pool of 4,094 ratings, and two Roadster women's boots Rs. 45 apart share 3,487. The most-rated boot in the read - 16,942 ratings - is the fourth-cheapest at Rs. 648, while the dearest listing at Rs. 1,999 has been rated six times.
We read both catalogues on the same afternoon: 47 running shoe listings on Myntra and 38 on Tata CLiQ, on 17 September 2026. The cleanest comparison the two offer is the Puma Skyrocket Lite 2, which sells at an identical Rs. 3,999 against an identical stated Rs. 4,999 on both - and carries 1,512 ratings on Myntra against 10 on Tata CLiQ. That gap holds across the shelf: the median rating count is 1,492 against 11, and 16 of the 38 Tata CLiQ listings publish no rating at all. Prices are a stocking story rather than a discount one - half of Myntra's shelf is its own HRX label and Red Tape, while Tata CLiQ carries the Nike, Asics, Skechers and Decathlon listings Myntra's pull returned none of. Tata CLiQ is Rs. 209 cheaper on one shared Puma.
We read Tata CLiQ's running and sports shoe listings on 17 September 2026. Thirty-eight came back with a price and an MRP; 22 are seated here, Rs. 479 to Rs. 7,200. The problem with this shelf is not price, it is evidence. Sixteen of the 38 listings publish no rating and no rating count at all - including a Rs. 7,200 adidas with no model name in its title and three separate Asics listings. Among the 22 that do publish a rating, the median count is eleven, ten carry fewer than ten ratings, and the largest sample anywhere on the shelf is 186, on a Puma Galaxis Pro. One shoe, the Asian Wonder 23, appears three times at the identical Rs. 604 in three colours, each listing with its own empty rating field. We print a star pill only above twenty ratings.
A living calendar of every Myntra sale in 2026: Big Fashion Festival expected to open in early October with Insider early access, Diwali specials through October, and winter End of Reason Sale expected 5-15 December. We read both men's formal shoe shelves on the morning of 2 September 2026, logged out and unfiltered: 79 distinct Myntra listings across formal shoes, loafers and derbys, and 219 on AJIO across the same three searches. Myntra's median is Rs. 849 at 70 per cent off and AJIO's Rs. 1,435 at 59 — but the medians hide the real difference. AJIO holds both ends: its cheapest shoe is Rs. 300 against Myntra's Rs. 449, and its dearest is Rs. 8,000 against Myntra's Rs. 1,803. Myntra's shelf is a narrow budget band with 70 per cent under Rs. 1,000; AJIO's is a full range carrying Lee Cooper, RED TAPE, U.S. Polo Assn., ARROW and ten STEVE MADDEN listings at a Rs. 6,899 median. The decisive gap is evidence: AJIO shows a customer rating on none of its 219 listings, the same absence we found on its home shelf the same morning, while Myntra shows one on 52 of 79. On Bata, the only shared brand with a real sample, Myntra's median is Rs. 593 against AJIO's Rs. 1,182.
We read myntra.com/men-formal-shoes, /men-loafers and /men-derbys on 2 September 2026 through the site's own listing payload — 92 rows, 79 distinct listings once colourway repeats are removed. The shelf is cheap and dense at the bottom: 55 listings under Rs. 1,000, 27 under Rs. 700, everything between Rs. 449 and Rs. 1,803, median Rs. 849 at 70 per cent off. The finding worth carrying to checkout is that the discount badge and the price move independently. Bata's 12 listings never print more than 50 per cent off — the discount takes only four values across the brand — yet Bata's median price of Rs. 593 undercuts HERE&NOW's Rs. 674 at a median 76 per cent off. A Mast & Harbour loafer at 83 per cent off costs more than a Bata oxford at 50 per cent off. Below: the brand table, every listing under Rs. 700, and the most-rated shoes on the shelf with what they actually cost.
one8, Virat Kohli's own brand, has put its full footwear lineup on Flipkart — the first time the Seam XVIII Signature and its siblings are open to buy on a marketplace. We pulled every men's listing from the brand store: 20 distinct pairs across six lines, from the Rs. 4,999 Seam Classic to the Rs. 13,999 Cover Drive 18 cricket spikes, with the Rs. 9,230 Signature — priced to match Kohli's Test-run tally — at the centre. Every price below was read off its live product page on August 30, 2026. These are launch prices, not discounts, and none of the listings carries ratings yet; we say what each pair is for instead.
Five Myntra men's footwear listing pages on 28 August 2026 returned 75 shoes with a price, a stated MRP and a badge. Prices run Rs. 644 to Rs. 3,499 with a median of Rs. 1,132; badges run 1 per cent to 87 per cent with a median of 70. Sorted by badge, the shelf reads backwards: the 21 listings badging 80 per cent or more have a median MRP of Rs. 5,995 and a median price of Rs. 999, while the 12 badging 45 per cent or less have a median MRP of Rs. 2,499 and a median price of Rs. 1,749. A Red Tape sneaker is struck from Rs. 7,399 to Rs. 1,183; a Sparx runner from Rs. 1,549 to Rs. 1,471. The brands badging least - SG at 1 per cent, Sparx at 5, NIVIA at 25, Campus at 41 - are the ones you can price-check in a sports shop, and Campus NORTH PLUS carries the most ratings on the shelf at 26,548.
We read 230 AJIO men's shoe listings on 23 August 2026 across sneakers, casual shoes and sports shoes, and seated 24 priced Rs. 150 to Rs. 1,500 after de-duplicating on the product photograph. Two things define this shelf. First, AJIO publishes no rating and no review count for any listing on it - not one of the 230 - so this page carries no rating pills and every judgement here rests on price, stated MRP, brand and what the listing itself specifies. Second, the discount badge is a brand policy rather than an offer: RED TAPE returned 36 listings and every single one is 80 to 86 per cent off, with stated MRPs from Rs. 5,899 to Rs. 9,599 that climb in step with the selling price so the badge never moves. Buda Jeans Co, OFF LIMITS and ASTEROID do the same across their smaller catalogues. Against that, Shein discounts by 19 per cent, Liberty by 41 and Campus between 33 and 56. Only three listings here state an MRP below Rs. 1,000.
We read Neemans' own product feed on the morning of 19 August 2026, while the brand's homepage was running a Comfort Rush Deals countdown with under 16 hours left on the clock and a Buy 2 Get 7% / Buy 3 Get 10% strip stacked on top. 591 in-stock styles carried a struck-through MRP, priced from Rs. 369 to Rs. 4,499. The discount is spread unevenly and not in the direction the banner implies: slides and flip-flops carry a median cut of 50% and 47%, while sneakers - the range Neemans is known for - sit at a median of 33%. Exactly one style in the 591, the Comfy Hustlers in white at Rs. 899, reaches the 72% top of the range, and 146 styles are under 25% off. This page lists the category-by-category price bands, the ten deepest cuts and everything under Rs. 1,000.
