We read Myntra's own listing data on August 17, 2026 across six paths - the adidas, Nike and Puma brand listings plus men's sports shoes and men's casual shoes - and got 174 listings with a price and a higher stated MRP, of which 84 are adidas, Nike or Puma under Rs. 3,000. Twenty-one are seated here, Rs. 999 to Rs. 2,854. Three findings. Nike puts no shoe in this band at all: its listings under Rs. 3,000 are caps, backpacks, duffels and totes, and its cheapest shoe in the read is a Rs. 3,695 Revolution 7. Puma owns the evidence - six of the 21 picks carry 49,885 of the page's 55,128 ratings, with 24,354 on one slider and 20,070 on one sneaker. And the discount badge is a brand policy: eleven of adidas's fifteen picks sit between 50 and 59 per cent off, while its best-rated shoes, the kids' walking pair, carry the smallest badges here.

We read 120 Myntra activewear listings on August 9, 2026 from Myntra's own listing data - men's sportswear, women's sportswear and men's active T-shirts - and counted the brands before reading a single discount. Fifty-three of the 120 are HRX, Myntra's own athleisure label, which means the wall is largely one company's catalogue with a few outsiders around the edges. HRX's badges run from 49 to 76 per cent and its prices from Rs. 299 to Rs. 1,119. In the women's aisle it prices tights at seventeen distinct points inside a Rs. 302 range against only four stated MRPs, so two nearly identical pairs twenty rupees apart carry badges of 70 and 68 per cent for no reason except which anchor they were assigned. The largest samples belong to brands with one or two listings - 13,356 votes on a Decathlon jacket, 12,064 on Pepe Jeans lounge pants - and Decathlon is the only seller whose MRP can be checked. Twenty-five picks, from Rs. 299 to Rs. 1,18,990.

We read three PUMA India category pages on August 8, 2026 - men's shoes, women's shoes and men's clothing, 24 server-rendered tiles each - and kept all 72 listings that publish a price. Three things came out of it. First, this shelf has two prices and very little in between: 28 of the 72 listings carry no discount at all, 32 of the 44 that do sit between 45 and 55 per cent, and exactly four listings in the whole pull fall anywhere between 1 and 44. Second, one shoe is listed twice at two prices - the Magnify NITRO 3 at Rs. 8,999 badged 40 per cent and at Rs. 9,749 badged 35, against an identical stated MRP of Rs. 14,999. Third, the two member offers PUMA advertises on its own homepage, a 20 per cent welcome discount and a 20 per cent birthday reward, are worth more on the undiscounted half of this shelf than any badge there, because that half has no badge - 20 per cent of the Rs. 21,999 racing shoe is Rs. 4,400. 23 picks.

Puma India's End of Season Sale ran through July with a flat 40% off banner and rack cuts reaching 56%. That window has closed. On August 4, 2026 we went back to in.puma.com and re-read every one of the 21 shoes from our original sweep against its unchanged MRP — and the picture is genuinely mixed. Four picks never moved: the BMW M Neo Cat and Drift Cat at 55%, the women's Smashic and the Carina Slim Perf at Rs. 2,024. Others snapped back hard: the women's Softride Frequence went from Rs. 3,149 to Rs. 5,599, the Fade Pro from Rs. 4,799 to Rs. 7,199, the Deviate NITRO Elite 3 from Rs. 13,999 to Rs. 16,999. This is the post-sale price sheet, with the wait-for-the-next-window picks named as such.

We read all 61 in-stock accessory listings on adidas India's own site on July 31, 2026 — bags, balls, caps, socks and licensed merchandise — and found a store that runs on exactly four discount rates: 0%, 10%, 30% and 50%. Forty-eight listings sit at zero, nine at thirty, three at fifty, one at ten. Every discounted item is a bag; every cap, sock and ball holds full price, including the most-rated item in the read — the FIFA World Cup Trionda match ball, 4.8 from 478 ratings, never discounted. The half-price shelf holds just three bags, two with crowds in the hundreds at 4.7 and 4.8. And one bag, the Classic 3 Bar Logo Backpack, is live twice on the same storefront: Rs. 1,750 at 30% off and Rs. 2,499 at full price, both showing the same 4.8 from 72 because the rating belongs to the bag. Search the exact name before you pay — nothing on either listing points to the other.

We read 138 in-stock adidas India listings from the brand's own product data on July 30, 2026 and grouped them by model name rather than by discount. The Samba OG appears as five separate live listings at Rs. 7,699, Rs. 8,399, Rs. 10,999, Rs. 11,999 and Rs. 12,999 — and every one of them displays the identical rating of 4.7 from 20,391 people, because adidas attaches the rating to the model rather than the colourway. The same thing happens three more times: Handball Spezial at Rs. 7,699 and Rs. 10,999 on one 4.8 from 9,066; Ultraboost 1.0 at Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 10,799 on one 4.6 from 4,526; Advantage Base at Rs. 3,299 and Rs. 6,599 on one 4.5 from 611 — double the money for the same shoe. The discounting itself is close to binary: 107 of 138 listings carry nothing at all, and 20 of the 31 that do are at exactly 50%, concentrated on entry trainers between Rs. 1,799 and Rs. 3,499.

We read 88 in-stock adidas India listings from the brand's own content-engine API on July 30, 2026, against kids', junior, boys' and girls' queries. Eighty-one of them carry no discount at all — priced at exactly the stated MRP, nothing struck through. The seven that do use exactly two figures: three at 30% and four at 50%, with nothing in between. Across all 88 listings there are only 30 distinct prices, and two rungs are crowded: eleven listings at Rs. 4,299 and eleven at Rs. 6,599. The Rs. 4,299 rung is entirely kids' club jerseys — Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, Liverpool, Bayern and Arsenal, home and away, this season and last, all at one number. It is a category price, not a product price. And this is the one shelf we read this week with real evidence on it: a full-price Samba OG carries 20,391 ratings, an Adizero EVO SL 6,041, kids' Samba Jane 560. The largest sample on the whole jersey rung is 39, and one jersey shows a perfect 5.0 from four people. Twenty-one picks.

We read adidas.co.in's own product API on July 29, 2026 across ten searches and collected 109 in-stock listings. Seventy-three carried no discount at all, and every one of the remaining 36 was cut by exactly 50%, exactly 40% or exactly 30% — nothing at 35%, nothing at 45%, nothing anywhere in between. A sale with three settings is a rule applied to shelves rather than a set of judgements about shoes, and the rule is legible: median rating count runs 115 in the 50% tier, 1,077 in the 40% tier and 4,639 in the 30% tier, so the discount shrinks as the audience grows. The cleanest case is Ultraboost, where the 1.0 sits at Rs. 9,000 with 4,525 ratings and the current Ultraboost 5 sits at Rs. 17,999 with 47 ratings and no discount at all — off an identical stated MRP of Rs. 17,999. The Samba OG and Handball Spezial stop at 30%. Twenty-one picks, ranked on price and rating count, because the badge cannot rank anything.

We read adidas India's own listing API on July 28, 2026 and found 94 in-stock products, 44 of them discounted — and every one of those 44 discounts landed on exactly 50%, 40% or 30%. Nothing in between exists: no 45%, no 35%, no 28%. Twenty-six sat at 50%, nine at 40% and nine at 30%, which makes this a tiered clearance system where the badge marks which shelf a product is on rather than what it is worth. So we read the ratings instead, and the pattern is consistent: the 50% tier is full of models most people could not name, while the 30% tier holds Samba, Firebird, Dropset and the current club jerseys, including the best-evidenced product in the article at 2,000 ratings. We also found two models listed in two tiers at once — the Pomazor at Rs. 1,800 and Rs. 2,160, the Basenew at Rs. 2,150 and Rs. 2,580.

We read 158 adidas India products across running, kids, cricket, football and sandals from the brand's own content-engine API on July 28, and adidas turned out not to run a sale at all. It runs a shelf. Thirty-five of the 158 carried any discount, and which aisle you stand in decides whether one exists: nine of ten sandals are cut, fourteen of thirty-three cricket products, six of thirty-one football products, and zero of forty-four running shoes. Not one runner, at any price. Within the discounted set the percentage takes exactly three values — 50%, 40% and 30% — with nothing in between, so it is a rung assignment rather than a measure of keenness. What decides the rung is the collection and above all the season code: every 25/26 club jersey is at 30% off and every 26/27 one is at full price, both listing at Rs. 6,599, which makes a sponsor-panel revision worth Rs. 1,979. The adidas Samba OG is live at Rs. 7,700 in one colourway and Rs. 10,999 in another, on the same website on the same afternoon. The Ultraboost 1.0 is at Rs. 9,000 and Rs. 10,800. That is the single most useful thing we found across 227 products read from adidas India's own data on July 27: the discount attaches to the colourway, not to the shoe. So the question is never whether a model is on sale, it is which versions of it are — worth Rs. 3,299 on the Samba alone if you are not fixed on a particular colour. The second finding is that the cuts come in exactly three sizes. Of those 227 products, 120 carried no discount at all, 55 sat at precisely 50%, 29 at 30% and 23 at 40%, with nothing in between anywhere. adidas is applying tiers to groups of stock rather than pricing items individually. Sort adidas India's catalogue by how many people have actually rated each product and the result is not the one the marketing suggests. The most-rated item on adidas.co.in is a Rs. 1,799 Adilette slide carrying 4.6 from 2,776 ratings. The second is another slide, with 2,259. That is an order of magnitude more evidence than any sneaker in the range carries — no Samba, no Ultraboost, nothing anyone queues for comes close. So this page is built from the rating data rather than from the hype, and what falls out is slides, leggings, football jerseys and socks. A three-pack of crew socks holds a 4.8 across 305 ratings, which is more evidence than most sneakers have. The highest scores in the whole catalogue are the football shirts at 4.9. Every pick shows its sample size, because a 5.0 from 25 people and a 4.6 from 2,776 are not the same claim. Read from adidas.co.in's own feed on July 26, 2026.

Almost no Indian retailer shows you how many people are behind a star rating, which is why most product ratings are decoration. adidas is the exception — its own product API returns both the score and the count — so we sorted its July outlet by exactly that. The result reorders the usual advice. The Ultraboost 20 at half price, Rs. 9,499, carries 10,298 ratings at 4.8, the deepest pool of buyer evidence in the entire catalogue. The Handball Spezial has 8,961 at 4.8. Meanwhile the newest, most expensive running shoe here, the Supernova Rise 3, also shows 4.8 — across 53 ratings, which is a hint rather than a verdict, and the card says so. The same logic exposes where discounts signal demand rather than value: the Samba holds at 30% off because it has not needed to move in four years, while the SL 72 from the same archive goes to 40% and costs Rs. 3,100 less. Twenty-one picks from Rs. 779 flip-flops up, every one carrying its real rating and the number of people behind it.

Adidas India's End of Season Sale is the one window where the Originals wall actually blinks — and this edition, it blinked hard: the Samba OG (20,345 ratings, the most-photographed sneaker of the decade) is 30% off, the Campus 00s and Superstar II sit at flat half price, and the Ultraboost 20 drops Rs. 9,499 below sticker. We pulled every price and rating in this list from adidas.co.in's own product API on July 25, 2026, and kept 21 listings that clear our bars for discount honesty and review depth. The edit spans the icon wall (Samba to kids' shelltoes), the running rack (a 10,298-rating flagship to a Rs. 1,900 steal), the monsoon shelf (Rs. 650 three-stripe flip-flops), and two 4.9-star football jerseys — including the 2006 Messi Argentina reissue that won't restock. One warning from the data: Stan Smiths are at full price this sale; we name the substitute that isn't.

We swept the live outlet on July 23, 2026 and kept 21 picks that earn a slot — every one carrying its real direct-store rating and review count: the Samba OG at a rare 30% off, the 1,975-review Galaxy 7 runner at Rs. 4,410, the Dropset 4 lifting flagship, a 4.9-rated Messi 2006 heritage jersey in a World Cup year, and a budget shelf that starts at Rs. 780.
