Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 is expected to open in early October (Flipkart has dated Big Billion Days 9 October, and Amazon has opened alongside it for three years) with 24-hour Prime early access and run in waves through Diwali on 8 November. This living page tracks the official announcement, likely bank offers (10 percent partner-bank instant discount, Amazon Pay ICICI stacking) and a 15-minute prep checklist - re-verified every week until the sale goes live.
Flipkart Big Billion Days 2026 is official: the sale starts 9 October with early access on 8 October for Plus, Black and Flipkart credit card members, and Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards get a 10% instant discount. This living page tracks the official announcement, the expected timeline (teaser week, early access, flash windows), Axis/HDFC bank offers, which categories genuinely bottom out at BBD vs what to buy earlier, and how BBD compares with Amazon Great Indian Festival - re-verified every week until the sale goes live.
Flipkart has a sale running right now and it is not the Big Billion Days. Its own Early Bird store page says 'Early Bird deals live, starting September 24, 2026', while the homepage footer still calls the Big Billion Days 'Upcoming'. We read both pages on the morning of 2 October 2026 and pulled out every rupee figure Flipkart has committed to in print - ten for Early Bird, nine more for a BBD sale that opens at midnight on 8 October for Plus, VIP and Flipkart credit card holders and on 9 October for everyone else. The sharpest find: the same iPhone 17 is Rs. 77,999 on one Flipkart page and Rs. 79,999 on the other, and the difference is a specific credit card. Plus the sponsor list that tells you which aisles have budget behind them, and three theme days that have already passed.
Fans are one of the few shelves where the listings print a size you can match on, so we read Amazon's on 2 October 2026 - 60 listings - and grouped them by it. Thirty-eight state a sweep in millimetres, and the 400 mm class alone holds twenty listings running Rs. 1,749 to Rs. 4,399 - 2.5x in money at one identical stated sweep, with a median of Rs. 2,749. The size bands overlap so heavily that a price sort is useless: a 100 mm exhaust fan and a 150 mm one both cost Rs. 569. We also flag two things the badges hide. Six pairs of listings display a rating count identical to the digit - the same fan listed twice at gaps of Rs. 55 to Rs. 700, sharing one review pool - and four listings state an MRP exactly one hundred times their price, each producing a 99% badge this page does not treat as a discount. Twenty-two seated.
If you are searching for an Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 date today, the honest answer is that Amazon has not published one. We read amazon.in's own festival page on the afternoon of 2 October 2026: it contains no date anywhere in its text - the words 'October' and 'starts' do not appear at all - and its headline price teasers have the digits deliberately masked, reading 'Samsung | Starting Rs. _ _, _ _ 9'. Flipkart has done the opposite on its own store page. It states early access from midnight on 8 October 2026 for Plus, VIP and Flipkart credit card holders and general access from 9 October, and it names about nineteen rupee figures - the iPhone 17 from Rs. 79,999*, a Samsung Book4 i5 at Rs. 54,990*, a Hero Xtreme 125R from Rs. 84,700* - each with its own asterisk. This page compares what each has committed to in print, not which will be cheaper.
October 2026 is the biggest shopping month of the year. Flipkart Big Billion Days 2026 anchors it from 8 Oct, on Flipkart's own published dates. Buy electronics and appliances, fashion and footwear, and courses, software and hosting now. Jewellery, supplements and baby gear only move on their sale days, so wait.
We read Vijay Sales' own power bank category on 1 October 2026 - 27 listings. Twenty-three of them state the same capacity, 10,000 mAh, and run from Rs. 899 to Rs. 2,049 - 2.28 times the money for the same printed number, with magnets, wireless output and a kickstand accounting for the difference. The badges sort by brand recognition rather than by discount: Apple states an MRP 1.09x its price, Xiaomi 1.67x, and Swiss Military - on the cheapest listing on the shelf - states 5.33x and prints 81% off. And nothing here has a review: zero of 27 listings publish a star average or a review count, which also hides the fact that 13 of the 27 rows are repeats of six products.
Amazon's Great Indian Festival 2026 starts on October 8, and the event page has moved from teasers to "Deals Revealed": a shelf of listings already badged Sale Price Live, a week before the sale opens. We read all 30 on October 1, 2026, re-checked each price, MRP and rating on its product page, and kept the 20 big-ticket picks rated 4.0 or better by at least 100 buyers. They run from a Rs. 7,399 semi-automatic washing machine to a Rs. 1,29,999 Philips 85-inch QLED, with three 55-inch QLED TVs from Rs. 30,999, the OnePlus Pad 2 at Rs. 31,999, an Aquaguard RO purifier at Rs. 8,999 and a Canon ink-tank printer at Rs. 11,999. The banner pairs the sale with a 10% instant discount on SBI debit and credit cards. Roles, not rankings: best overall, biggest steal, cheapest 55-inch.
We read both clothes-iron shelves on the same afternoon, 30 September 2026 - 15 irons on Amazon and 17 on Vijay Sales, after removing the twelve garment steamers the two shelves mix in. Amazon's median is Rs. 1,335 and Vijay Sales' is Rs. 1,899, but priced per watt they are Rs. 1.19 against Rs. 1.22 - the gap is stock mix, not price, and the cheapest iron across both shelves is a Rs. 619 Bajaj on Vijay Sales. Two Philips model numbers are sold in both places, and Amazon is Rs. 87 and Rs. 180 cheaper on them. Two Amazon listings state an MRP exactly 100 times their price, producing the only 99% badges here; both are excluded from every figure. Vijay Sales published no rating on any of its 17 irons.
We read the whole Vijay Sales fan category on 30 September 2026 and counted it twice. It returns 27 listings and sells 16 fans. Seven groups of tiles share an identical price, an identical stated MRP and the same model name - the Atomberg Renesa 1200mm appears five times, every tile at Rs. 3,899 and 31% off. Ten of the sixteen distinct fans are Atomberg, and there is no Havells, Crompton, Orient, Usha or Bajaj ceiling fan on the shelf at all. One model, the Studio Nexus, is listed twice at two different prices against one stated MRP: Rs. 4,498 and Rs. 4,599. And 15 of the 16 ceiling fans state the same 1200mm sweep, so this shelf effectively sells one size.
We read Flipkart's trimmer shelf on 29 September 2026 - 213 distinct listings from Rs. 249 to Rs. 15,805, with 26 seated here. Sixteen of them carry the model number 538 in the title under twelve different brand names, sell for Rs. 423 to Rs. 595, and are badged anywhere from 51% to 88% - because they state six different MRPs between Rs. 999 and Rs. 3,999. Two charge the identical Rs. 448 and show 72% and 55%. Rating counts are pooled too: NOVA displays 483,247 ratings on three trimmers and 203,799 on three more, and a pair of NHT 1083 clippers six rupees apart shows 38% and 45%. The brands with shops barely discount - a median badge of 38% against 69.5% for everything else - and the most-rated listing of all 213, with 488,640 ratings, carries a 22% flash.
We read Flipkart's monitor shelf on 29 September 2026 - 156 distinct listings from Rs. 2,499 to Rs. 86,599, with 24 seated here. Seven of them charge exactly Rs. 9,999, and Flipkart badges those seven 70%, 69%, 50%, 45%, 44%, 29% and 17%. The same thing repeats at Rs. 10,999, where four listings show 62%, 48%, 44% and 15%. Screen size does not narrow it either: 70 of the 154 sizeable listings are 27-inch, running Rs. 5,364 to Rs. 82,599 - fifteen-fold, at one diagonal. Per inch the shelf runs Rs. 132 to Rs. 3,059 against a Rs. 379 median. Rating counts are pooled across different screen sizes, one Samsung figure covering a 22, a second 22, a 24 and a 27 - and one title states two contradictory sizes, neither matching its own photograph.
A routine read of 246 Amazon India listings on 29 September 2026 returned 15 rows where the struck-through figure was lower than the selling price - impossible for an MRP. We went back to the live search pages and checked them one at a time. The smaller figure is a per-unit rate, not a discount and not an MRP, and the real M.R.P. is a separate, higher number on the same tile. A SanDisk 64 GB pen drive at Rs. 909 shows "Rs. 14.20 /count" - that is Rs. 909 divided by 64 gigabytes - against an M.R.P. of Rs. 1,100. The arithmetic checks out on nine of the eleven listings; the labels mostly do not. "/count" means gigabytes on one tile and single dumbbells on three others, and one 10 kg dumbbell shows "Rs. 33.98" beside "Rs. 3,398".
