Flipkart has a sale running right now and it is not the Big Billion Days. Its own Early Bird store page says 'Early Bird deals live, starting September 24, 2026', while the homepage footer still calls the Big Billion Days 'Upcoming'. We read both pages on the morning of 2 October 2026 and pulled out every rupee figure Flipkart has committed to in print - ten for Early Bird, nine more for a BBD sale that opens at midnight on 8 October for Plus, VIP and Flipkart credit card holders and on 9 October for everyone else. The sharpest find: the same iPhone 17 is Rs. 77,999 on one Flipkart page and Rs. 79,999 on the other, and the difference is a specific credit card. Plus the sponsor list that tells you which aisles have budget behind them, and three theme days that have already passed.
Amazon's Great Indian Festival 2026 smartphone shelf is hundreds of listings deep, most of them colour and storage variants of a handful of phones. We swept it live and kept 18 distinct models with real prices pulled the same day, sorted by budget so you can jump straight to your spend. The value story sits in the middle: the iQOO Z11 Lite 44W at Rs. 19,999 with a 6500mAh battery and 44W charging, and a 44%-off Redmi A7 Pro 5G at Rs. 14,999. Above it, big-battery mid-rangers, a Dimensity 8500 Turbo 5, and flagships topping out at Samsung's Rs. 30,000-off Z Fold8 Ultra. Roles, not raw rankings: best overall value, biggest steal, best battery, best camera.
A living calendar of every Amazon India sale in 2026: Mega Deals Days live 13-16 August, the Great Indian Festival expected to open in early October and run through Diwali, then Black Friday and year-end events. Includes buy-now-or-wait guidance per category, the bank-offer stack, and past-year timing. Re-verified weekly; expected windows become official dates the day Amazon announces.
Mobiles Ki Paathshala is Flipkart's September 2026 mobile-education programme: a daily quiz that pays out in collectible badges, a rotating Today's Tech Byte card, a Myth vs Fact board, and a Pick Your Price, Find Your Perfect Phone shelf. The store page is image-only and the quiz lives in the app, so we did the reading for you. This page explains what each piece is, then sorts 22 phones on Flipkart into the six price classes the campaign uses, from a Rs. 6,152 realme Narzo 80 Lite to a Rs. 67,900 iPhone 16. Every price, MRP, rating and rating count was read off Flipkart's live listings on September 5, 2026.
We read both phone shelves on 4 September 2026, typing the same brand names into each. Three of those searches returned zero handsets on Croma — Motorola, iQOO and new Poco — and Redmi returned one. On Amazon the same names return 11, 12, 2 and 15 listings, Motorola from Rs. 15,476 and iQOO from Rs. 16,999. Apple and OnePlus depth runs the other way, with 17 and 21 Croma listings. On the closest like-for-like sample — brand-name queries on both — Amazon's median handset is Rs. 29,594 against Croma's Rs. 40,999, though Croma's shelf is Apple- and OnePlus-heavy and Amazon's reference prices are seller-set and unverifiable, so we lead on rupee prices. The cleanest difference is evidence: 77 of Amazon's 79 listings carry a rating against 29 of Croma's 84, and the busiest listing on each shelf has 2,468 ratings and 43.
Croma's mobile searches, read on 4 September 2026, returned 84 new handsets — and the most useful finding is about what is not there. Searching Croma for “motorola mobile” returned 15 results and zero Motorola phones; “iqoo mobile” returned 19 and zero iQOO; “poco mobile” returned four and no new Poco. Redmi returns one handset. Two-thirds of the shelf is OnePlus, Apple, Realme and Samsung. On price, the aisle runs Rs. 7,699 to Rs. 1,82,490 at a median of Rs. 40,999 and a median 12% off, and only four phones sit under Rs. 15,000 — the cheapest of them the shelf's only 4G model. Discounts split hard by brand: Oppo a median 43% off and Vivo 31%, against Apple at 3–4% on 16 of its 17 listings.
Raksha Bandhan lands on Friday, August 28 this year, and Flipkart has stood up a dedicated Rakhi Specials mobile store for the occasion. We swept it live on August 23 — every price checked on its own product page, every MRP verified against the exact variant (Flipkart's variant chips make cross-variant discount illusions easy), and every pick carrying its live rating and review count. Twenty phones made the list, from a Rs. 15,999 realme at a verified 45% off to the Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro Max at Rs. 1,61,900. Three picks sell at list price and are flagged as such — including the Pixel 10a, which earns its slot on camera alone.
Amazon's mobiles storefront runs a rotating Top Deals of the Week wall, and this week's rotation is unusually deep. We swept the page and its deal carousels live on August 23, 2026, checked every price against its listed MRP, and kept 17 phones — from a Rs. 9,699 Lava to a Rs. 1,99,999 Galaxy Fold, with the headline act a 16GB Nothing Phone (3) at 46% off. Every pick carries its live Amazon rating and review count where one exists; new launches are flagged as unverified rather than dressed up. Phones selling at list price with no real MRP gap were dropped, and we say which ones.
We read 33 Amazon India smartphone listings on August 9, 2026 from Amazon's own search results, and sorted them by discount before doing anything else. The result argues against ever doing that. The four deepest badges in the read - 46, 46, 45 and 45 per cent - belong to just two handsets, and those two hold the lowest ratings on the shelf: 3.3 from 1,555 votes and 2.5 from 178. At the other end, the phone with the largest rating sample in the read, 3,176 votes at 4.1, is discounted 13 per cent, and the highest-scoring phone with a real sample, 4.4 from 531, is discounted 14. The badge is being set by the stated MRP, and the stated MRP is being calculated from the selling price rather than remembered: one phone's 64GB and 128GB trims are priced Rs. 1,000 apart and claim list prices Rs. 1,000 apart. Brand sets the band - Samsung 3 to 22 per cent with one 45 per cent exception, realme 14 to 43, REDMI 17 to 46, Lava 9 to 22. Twenty-five picks, from Rs. 9,099 to Rs. 31,999.
