We read 128 courses from six of Udemy's own category listings on 18 August 2026 - development, business, IT and software, design, marketing and personal development - and recorded the price charged next to the struck-through original price on each card. Every one of the 128 courses was priced between Rs. 399 and Rs. 519, and 73 of them, more than half, were priced at exactly Rs. 399. Rs. 399 was the cheapest price in all six categories; the dearest course we found anywhere was Rs. 519. The original prices behind those cards, which instructors set themselves, ran from Rs. 799 to Rs. 4,649 - which is why the discount badge on the identical Rs. 399 course reads 50% on one card and 89% on another. The badge tracks the list price, not your saving. Category medians span just Rs. 40, from Rs. 399 in development and business to Rs. 439 in marketing and personal development.

We read GeeksforGeeks' full course catalogue on August 8, 2026 from the same API its courses page renders from - 88 courses, each with a batch fee, a struck promotional fee and a duration. No sale banner was live, so these are standing prices rather than event pricing. Three things came out of it. First, the catalogue is essentially one exam: 77 of the 88 courses are GATE batches and 11 are everything else, and all nine published ratings in the catalogue belong to those eleven - not a single GATE batch carries a rating or a review count. Second, one exam year is sold at eight different prices: GATE 2028 CS & IT and DA appear at Rs. 18,749, Rs. 21,999, Rs. 22,499, Rs. 26,999, Rs. 27,499, Rs. 28,999, Rs. 31,999 and Rs. 34,999, separated by batch letter, weekday or weekend scheduling, recordings, placement support and one add-on component. Third, only five courses publish a seats-left counter. 21 picks.
