The discount here belongs to a promotion slot rather than to a product or even a brand. Nine listings from four unrelated labels - TOGS & TERRE, Alpha Tribe, NEONOMAD and Buda Jeans Co - all sell at exactly Rs. 285 against exactly Rs. 1,499 at exactly 81 per cent, and within that group a polo with a collar and a placket costs the same as a plain crew-neck tee. The finding is that the size of the badge tracks the size of the claim behind it rather than the size of the saving. The twelve listings badged 70 per cent or more carry a median stated MRP of Rs. 5,999 and a median review count of 410; the twenty-six badged 35 per cent or less carry a median stated MRP of Rs. 1,074 and a median review count of 1,956 - and both groups sell for roughly the same money. The largest claim we found was Rs. 9,099, on a Red Tape shoe selling at Rs. 1,410 with two ratings behind it; the most-rated shoe in the read is a Rs. 569 ASIAN running shoe with 112,075 ratings, badged 43 per cent. Nike, which has stores to protect, never let a badge past 30 per cent across six listings. Nineteen of the 175 listings we read have fewer than ten reviews in total. Twenty picks, Rs. 349 to Rs. 3,983.

We read 125 AJIO kidswear listings on August 9, 2026 from AJIO's own product API - kids clothing, boys T-shirts and girls dresses - and grouped them by who owns the seller. Nineteen of the 125 carry exactly 49 per cent off, and every single one belongs to a Reliance-owned label: YB DNMX, KB TEAM SPIRIT, KG FRENDZ, RIO GIRLS, POINT COVE or V-MART. Their claims are round and small - Rs. 179, Rs. 199, Rs. 499, Rs. 999 - and their prices are exactly half of them. The twenty-second is 15 per cent off, and it is the most expensive listing on the page - a SOCH Chanderi at Rs. 2,973 against a stated Rs. 3,498, a Rs. 525 gap that is the smallest here by a factor of eleven. SOCH runs its own stores and has a shelf price to defend; the other twenty-one sellers do not. First, the badge falls as the price rises, consistently: earbuds carry 60 to 92 per cent, air fryers 28 to 76, refrigerators 16 to 45, and the deepest discount in the sale sits on the cheapest object in it. Second, inside the earbuds aisle the deepest badges rest on the thinnest evidence - 87 per cent on a listing with 40 ratings - while the most-reviewed product in the entire pull, with 1,574,147 ratings, is discounted 68 and the best-liked pair at 4.2 stars is discounted 60. Third, two listings sell at exactly Rs. 699 with badges nine points apart, because one states an MRP of Rs. 8,999 and the other Rs. 3,999. 22 picks, read on the rupees.

We read three PUMA India category pages on August 8, 2026 - men's shoes, women's shoes and men's clothing, 24 server-rendered tiles each - and kept all 72 listings that publish a price. Three things came out of it. First, this shelf has two prices and very little in between: 28 of the 72 listings carry no discount at all, 32 of the 44 that do sit between 45 and 55 per cent, and exactly four listings in the whole pull fall anywhere between 1 and 44. Second, one shoe is listed twice at two prices - the Magnify NITRO 3 at Rs. 8,999 badged 40 per cent and at Rs. 9,749 badged 35, against an identical stated MRP of Rs. 14,999. Third, the two member offers PUMA advertises on its own homepage, a 20 per cent welcome discount and a 20 per cent birthday reward, are worth more on the undiscounted half of this shelf than any badge there, because that half has no badge - 20 per cent of the Rs. 21,999 racing shoe is Rs. 4,400. 23 picks.

We read 159 AJIO menswear listings on August 8, 2026 - jeans, shirts, jackets and sweatshirts - and tested them against the two coupon offers AJIO advertises on its own homepage: Rs. 750 off a Rs. 2,990 basket and Rs. 450 off Rs. 1,990. Three things came out of it. First, almost nothing on this shelf reaches either threshold alone: exactly 2 of the 159 listings cost Rs. 2,990 or more and 11 cost Rs. 1,990 or more, against a median price of Rs. 649 - so a typical basket needs five items for the bigger coupon and three for the smaller. Second, the badges cannot rank anything: 22 of the 159 sit at exactly 75 per cent, and the four aisle medians fall within six points of one another at 67 to 73. Third, not one listing publishes a star rating or review count, so nothing here is ranked by score. 22 picks, with the basket arithmetic shown on every card.
