We read three AJIO bag searches on August 7, 2026 - handbag, women sling bag and tote bag - and kept the 199 listings carrying both a selling price and a stated MRP. Two things came out of it. First, not one of the 199 publishes a star rating or a review count, so nothing here is ranked by score and no rating pill appears anywhere. Second, the discount is a property of the brand rather than of the bag. RIO has twenty listings on this shelf and they carry exactly two values between them: thirteen at 70 per cent, seven at 50. AVAASA's eight listings do the same thing. Fourteen of VAN HEUSEN's nineteen sit at 45 or 46 per cent. FASTRACK has twelve listings and none exceeds 39; CAPRESE has nine and none is below 68, so the two brands' ranges never touch. Two different Mochi slings share an identical Rs. 495 price and an identical Rs. 990 stated MRP. Where brands do spread - ESBEDA at 75 and 40, Puma at 63 and 30 - both ends are seated here. 22 picks, Rs. 253 to Rs. 7,500.

We pulled Myntra's own watch listing data on August 7, 2026 and kept the 101 rows carrying a checkout price, a stated MRP and an image. One pattern runs through all of them: the discount tells you what kind of company made the watch and almost nothing else. The five houses whose business is watches - Titan, Fastrack, Timex, Casio and Sonata - account for 20 listings at a median 14 per cent off, and two of those sit at zero. The other 81 listings run at a median 70 per cent. Casio's Vintage A-158WA is full price at Rs. 1,895 with 24,990 ratings behind it. WROGN's fourteen analogue watches are all 73 to 80 per cent off, state MRPs higher than any Titan analogue on the page, and land between Rs. 695 and Rs. 1,079 - below Titan. The deepest badge in the whole read, 89 per cent, hangs on a smartwatch stating Rs. 21,999 and charging Rs. 2,401. Twenty-two picks, every one carrying a real Myntra rating and rating count, from Rs. 695 to Rs. 4,499.

In July 2026 AJIO's Nike wall priced at a flat 50% off and we swept 332 listings to build this page. That event has ended. Re-swept on August 6, 2026, the same wall runs 15-35% off — the house rate is 30%, only four picks cut deeper, and two cut shallower than we would normally publish. Several items cost more than they did six weeks ago: the Air Zoom Pegasus 40 has gone from Rs. 5,948 to Rs. 8,327. Four picks sold out and have been replaced. What remains is still a usable map of the wall — the Ebernon Low white sneaker at Rs. 3,497, the Court Royale AC at Rs. 3,147, a printed tee at Rs. 1,167 — but it is a normal-pricing map, not an event one, and this edition says so on every card.

On August 6, 2026 we read 80 organic Amazon listings across five desk aisles - laptops under Rs. 60,000, 24-inch monitors, wireless keyboard-and-mouse combos, laptop cooling pads and USB-C hubs - holding 232,411 ratings between them. The median discount badge climbs steadily as the objects get cheaper: 30 per cent on laptops, 37 on monitors, 42.5 on keyboard combos, 53 on cooling pads, 67 on USB-C hubs. Split by price instead of aisle, it is cleaner still - the 41 listings under Rs. 2,000 carry a median badge of 60 per cent against 36 for the 39 above it, and ten of the eleven listings wearing a 70-plus badge cost less than Rs. 2,000. The exhibit is a CLAW cooling stand selling at Rs. 1,190 that states an MRP of Rs. 1,19,000, printing a 99 per cent badge on 18 ratings. The best-evidenced listing in every aisle - including the most-rated item in the pull, at 31,516 ratings - carries a badge below its shelf's median. Twenty-two picks, every count printed.

On August 6, 2026 we read 209 live AJIO listings across backpacks, trolley bags and men's watches. The discount percentage turns out to be a property of the brand rather than of the product or the price: Nasher Miles' sixteen listings run 67 to 83 per cent, Safari's ten run 66 to 83, Benetton's seventeen sit between 50 and 55, Mokobara's thirteen cluster on exactly 50, all four Fastrack rows print exactly 30, and Decathlon's eight have the lowest median of any brand here at 25. Because the number belongs to the house, two items at the same price can carry wildly different badges. A Safari backpack at Rs. 738 prints 81 per cent off. A Decathlon backpack at Rs. 729 - nine rupees cheaper - prints 9. Three bags within Rs. 73 of each other print 83, 50 and 25. AJIO publishes no ratings on these listings, so none are shown or claimed. Twenty-two picks, every sticker read aloud.

Tata CLiQ publishes something most Indian retail shelves do not: the number of people behind each star rating. On August 6, 2026 we read 190 of its listings across perfume, luggage and watches - 117 with counts attached - and the counts reveal that almost all of the shelf's crowd evidence sits in one aisle. Beauty and Grooming is 60 listings, a median of 18 ratings each, and 1,732 ratings in total: 32 per cent of the listings and 79 per cent of the evidence, with eleven listings clearing fifty votes. The 78 luggage listings hold 153 ratings between them, a median of three each, and not one reaches fifty. The 51 watches hold 214, and the best-evidenced stops at 49. A Jaguar fragrance carries 261 ratings; the best-documented suitcase on the shelf carries thirteen. Twenty-eight listings display a perfect 5.0 and twenty of those rest on three voters or fewer. Twenty-two picks, every count printed beside its score.

Most Indian shelves we read this month publish a star rating on every listing, however thin the sample behind it. AJIO publishes none at all. On August 6, 2026 we read 226 live listings across kurta, dress and sandals searches, and not one carried a rating or a review count - which leaves the discount badge as the only number on the tile. So we grouped the 226 by label instead of by price, and the badge turns out not to be a per-product figure at all. Eleven XQsee dresses on this shelf print exactly 89 per cent off. Five ZWERLON X AG dresses print exactly 89 per cent. Twenty-eight kurtas from AVAASA MIX N' MATCH, AJIO's own house label, print exactly 49 per cent across a fourfold price range. That is forty-four listings - nearly one in five - whose discount was set once for a whole range. Meanwhile in footwear, brands you can look up elsewhere discount at 10 to 48 per cent, and labels that exist mainly as AJIO listings discount at 69 to 80. 22 picks, every label named.

We searched Amazon India for three kitchen appliances on August 6, 2026 - induction cooktops, electric kettles and air fryers - dropped every sponsored placement and kept sixteen organic listings from each, so the three aisles could be compared like for like. The result is a map of where crowd evidence exists in an Indian kitchen. The sixteen cooktops carry 211,021 reviews between them, one listing alone holding 75,905. The sixteen kettles carry 115,821, and not one has fewer than 342 - on products with a median price of Rs. 870. The sixteen air fryers carry 33,871 between them, one-sixth of the cooktop total, with five listings below a hundred reviews and three below six. The air fryer aisle is also the most expensive of the three by median price, at Rs. 4,773. The deepest badge in the pull, 99 per cent, comes from a Rs. 2,990 air fryer stating an MRP of Rs. 2,99,000 - a hundred times what it sells for. Twenty-three picks, every review count printed beside its score.

We searched Amazon India for three personal-care appliances on August 6, 2026 - hair dryers, beard trimmers and electric toothbrushes - dropped every sponsored placement and kept thirty organic listings from each, so the three aisles could be compared like for like. Two of them behave exactly as you would expect. Twenty-seven of the thirty hair dryers carry a discount badge, at a median of 31 per cent. All thirty beard trimmers carry one, at a median of 28. And then the third aisle simply stops: twenty-nine of the thirty electric toothbrushes display no struck-through price and no percentage at all, from a Rs. 399 sonic brush up to a Rs. 11,549 Oral-B iO9. The single exception is a Rs. 170 listing printing 83 per cent off - and the same seller's other brush, Rs. 29 dearer, prints nothing. Oral-B holds sixteen of the thirty listings in that aisle. We also found eight listings whose stated MRP sits below their own price, and excluded all of them. 22 picks.

A cookware shelf is one of the few places in retail where the same object is sold in five genuinely different materials at five genuinely different prices, so we read 80 Tata CLiQ cookware listings on August 6, 2026 and grouped them by what the object is rather than by what it costs. A tawa runs from Rs. 749 for hard-anodised aluminium to Rs. 3,739 for light cast iron - a five-fold spread on a pan that makes the same roti. A kadhai runs from Rs. 529 in copper-bottom steel to Rs. 2,799 in tri-ply stainless. The sharpest seat is a pair: two kadhais claiming the same triply construction, one at Rs. 949 and one at Rs. 2,799, with nothing on either listing to explain the Rs. 1,850. But the argument has a limit, and we tested it - five two-litre pressure cookers sit within Rs. 640, and there triply steel costs Rs. 84 more than plain aluminium. Material sets the floor; brand and finish set the rest. 22 picks, every material as the listing states it.

We read all 129 in-stock listings on Libas's own site on July 31, 2026 — five weeks before Raksha Bandhan opens the festive season — and found a store that prices in tiers and lets the MRPs do the theatre. Seven silk-blend suits sell at exactly Rs. 2,619, declaring MRPs from Rs. 5,299 to Rs. 9,149, so their badges run 51% to 71% on identical money. Five printed suits share Rs. 1,649, four declaring an identical Rs. 4,499 — the store's only perfectly uniform shelf. The Gerua sub-brand runs its own tiers at Rs. 1,299 and Rs. 1,399, putting three complete festive suits under Rs. 4,200. And the categories discount by their clearance pressure, not their badges: suits at a median near 60%, sarees at 40% because the six-yard format neither sizes nor dates, and the Libas Art occasion line at 16-47% — the Rs. 12,599 net lehenga, the priciest item in the read, gets 16%. July is when this shelf is stocked, sized and quiet; from mid-August it will not be.

On August 5, 2026 we read 44 Amazon India television listings across three queries - 43, 55 and 65 inch - and checked the review evidence before the prices. Twenty-six of the 44 share their star rating and review count with at least one other listing on the same shelf, across twelve rating pools. Three VW Pro Series sets at three sizes all show 4.1 stars from exactly 2,419 ratings. Three Samsung Crystal UHD sets, three different model numbers, all show 4.3 from exactly 402. The sharpest case is Sony's BRAVIA 2M2: the 65-inch is 41 per cent off and the 43-inch is 20 per cent off, on identical review evidence. The discounts sort just as cleanly by brand tier - challenger brands cut a median 45 per cent, the mid tier 41, and Sony, Samsung and LG just 20. Twenty-three picks, every star score printed with its count, including a 4.7 built from four ratings and a 3.3 built from 233.

On August 5, 2026 we read 358 AJIO women's footwear listings across four queries - heels, flats, sandals and boots - and found something worth leading with: not one of them carries a star rating or a rating count. With no crowd signal available, the only readable structure is price against stated MRP, and it splits the wall into three systems. Marketplace labels such as Shoetopia and FROH FEET run 267 listings at a median 69 per cent off a median Rs. 1,999 sticker, landing at a median Rs. 675. Shoe-retail brands including ELLE, Mochi, Metro and Bata run 72 at a median 50 per cent - 24 of them at exactly 50 - landing at Rs. 1,100. Chain-store labels like MAX and YOUSTA run 19 at a median 25 per cent against a median Rs. 599 sticker. The comparison that carries the page: a RED TAPE flip-flop at 86 per cent off costs Rs. 602, and a MAX ballerina at 8 per cent off costs Rs. 549. Twenty-three picks, every stated MRP printed.

On August 5, 2026 we read 444 AJIO menswear listings across four queries - formal shirts, casual shirts, trousers and blazers - and counted repeats before comparing anything. Two hundred and ninety-six of the 444 share a selling price with at least one other listing, and 186 sit at a price shared by three or more. ARROW's 71 listings collapse to 35 prices: ten blazers at exactly Rs. 3,600 against Rs. 7,999, nine more at exactly Rs. 3,150 against Rs. 6,999, with titles differing only in words like slim, regular and notched. Seven NETPLAY and DNMX listings share Rs. 509, pricing a shirt and a pair of chinos identically. Six Peter England shirts share Rs. 811, charging the same for half sleeves as for full. Strangest of all, five listings from four unrelated brands share Rs. 500 against an identical Rs. 2,499 sticker. Not one of the 444 carries a rating. Twenty-four picks.

On August 5, 2026 we read 69 Amazon India wearable listings across three queries, removed five resistance bands the fitness-band query returned, and grouped the remaining 64 by price before comparing anything. The result is uncomfortable. The shelf holds 755,610 ratings in total, and 709,314 of them - 93 per cent - belong to the 29 listings priced under Rs. 2,000. Median rating count falls from 4,165 in that band to 737 between Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 5,000, to 418 between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000, and to 214 above Rs. 10,000. A Fire-Boltt at Rs. 1,099 carries 134,559 ratings; a Garmin Vivoactive 5 at Rs. 19,999 carries 65. The highest star score on the whole shelf, a 4.7, is built from 154 people. Buy well-evidenced or buy expensive - on this shelf you largely cannot do both. Twenty-two picks, every count printed.
