We pulled Libas's own Shopify product feed on August 3, 2026 - 1,000 listings, of which 889 have no size available at all, leaving 111 a shopper can actually buy. Splitting those 111 by discount produced a result with no exceptions in it. All 47 discounted listings are missing part of their size run and 33 are down to a single size. All 64 listings at full price have their complete size run available, every one. So the badge at Libas measures how long a garment has been sitting there, not how good the deal is, and the only question that matters on a 79 per cent listing is whether the one size left is yours. Twenty-six picks from Rs. 299 to Rs. 11,499, including the fourteen discounted listings that still have every size, the twenty listings sharing one Rs. 3,299 MRP, and the twenty-six plus-size listings of which not one is discounted. Libas publishes no ratings, so nothing here carries a rating pill.

We ran six activewear queries against AJIO's own search API on August 3, 2026 - sports shoes, running shoes, track pants, sweatshirts, gym wear and sports bras - and kept the 395 listings that returned a price, a stated MRP and an image. Then we counted what the grid tells you. Only 33 of the 395 name a performance property: an impact or support level, cushioning, moisture control, breathability, compression, stretch or a quick-dry finish. Zero of the 80 men's sports shoes do. Zero of the 40 sweatshirts do. Twenty of the 33 are sports bras and 14 are Decathlon listings. And the 33 that say something carry the smallest badges - a median 40 per cent against 60 per cent for the other 362. Twenty-four picks from Rs. 120 to Rs. 4,406, organised by how much the listing actually tells you. AJIO returned no rating and no review count on any of the 395, so nothing here carries a rating pill.

We read Nykaa Fashion's own men's category feed on August 3, 2026 - ten pages, 251 distinct in-stock listings - and instead of counting discounts we counted what the shelf is made of. Only 137 of the 251 are garments. The other 114 are 63 pairs of footwear, 30 bags, wallets and caps, 6 watches, 5 pairs of eyewear, 5 innerwear multipacks, compression socks, shoe-bite pads, a silver pendant, a Rs. 16,736 fountain pen and a ten-gram gold bar at Rs. 154,598. Fifty-five brands appear, but Puma alone supplies 47 listings - 21 shoes, 19 bags and caps, 7 garments. On the clothing side, CAHOOT and The Indian Garage Co supply 41 of the 137 garments and 22 of the 52 shirts. Shoes, bags and shirts are racks with real choice in them. Thirteen pairs of jeans is not a rack. Twenty-five picks from Rs. 232 to Rs. 154,598, and no rating pills, because no listing in this feed carries a rating.

We read 443 in-stock women's ethnic listings from AJIO's own feed on July 31, 2026 — kurta sets, anarkalis, sarees, salwar suits, dupattas and ethnic dresses from 81 brands, priced Rs. 81 to Rs. 4,234 — and counted how many of them shared a stated MRP. The answer reframes the whole shelf: 443 listings carry only 197 distinct MRPs. Fifteen garments from three unrelated brands all declare Rs. 4,345 and sell at anything from Rs. 455 to Rs. 975 — Rs. 520 of movement on a sticker that never moves, with badges falling from 90% to 78% as a matter of arithmetic. Ten more garments share Rs. 4,596, fourteen share Rs. 2,998, and on that last shelf a six-metre saree and a three-piece kurta set declare the identical MRP. The exception is AVAASA, Reliance's own label, which marks 22 of its 34 listings down by exactly 49% — a house rate, not a derived percentage. And the read's smallest badge, 15%, sits on a SOCH saree, because a brand with shops has a ticket price it actually charges.

We read 382 in-stock listings from Nykaa Fashion's own category feed on July 31, 2026 — 81 westernwear dresses, 86 co-ord sets, 74 heels, 77 flats and 64 sandals — and sorted the discounts by label rather than by product. The badges stopped looking like bargains and started looking like policy. ELLE's twenty-one listings carried exactly five discount values across three categories: 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 per cent, and no other number. Mabish By Sonal Jain's nine dresses were all 59% or 60%. PIMU priced six different dresses at an identical Rs. 1,000 off an identical Rs. 3,999. Bata's were 2-5%. The shallow badges clustered on brands with mall stores and high streets; the deep ones on labels that exist mainly as listings. Read in rupees the ranking inverts: the cheapest heel among seventy-four is a Rs. 391 Bata at two per cent off, and a 72%-off sandal costs Rs. 317 more than a 3%-off one. Eighteen picks, priced by what you pay.

We read every one of the 2,858 in-stock products in Snitch's own feed on July 31, 2026 and found that the brand does not really discount garments — it discounts colourways. 2,035 listings (71%) carry no discount at all, and of the 823 that do, 624 are at exactly 20%. The apparel ladder takes five values and only five: 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 per cent, with exactly one item in the whole catalogue at 25%. Grouping the catalogue by style code exposes the rest: 160 groups list the identical garment at two or three prices, decided purely by which swatch you click. A geometric overshirt is Rs. 1,259 in green and Rs. 1,799 in grey, cream and blue. A pure-linen shirt is Rs. 2,099 in beige and Rs. 2,624 in six other colours. A cotton tee is Rs. 639 in navy and Rs. 799 in fourteen other shades. Which makes Snitch's strikethrough unusual and worth trusting: the crossed-out price is not a fiction, it is what the same shirt costs in another colour, today.

We read 179 in-stock men's jeans, trousers, chinos and cargo pants from AJIO's own search responses on July 31, 2026, and grouped them by what you actually pay instead of by the badge. The result is hard to unsee. Nine listings sell at exactly Rs. 750 and their discounts read 85%, 75%, 70% and 50% — because POSHAX declares an MRP of Rs. 4,999, Vogaan declares Rs. 2,999, Buda Jeans Co declares Rs. 2,499 and John Players Jeans declares Rs. 1,499. Seven listings sell at exactly Rs. 600 with badges of 85%, 80%, 76% and 70%. The badge is arithmetic on a number the seller chose. Two labels behave differently: NETPLAY and DNMX, both Reliance's own, discount at exactly 49% or exactly 29% across 26 listings with nothing in between — the one place on this shelf where a deeper badge reliably means a bigger reduction. And a MAX jean at Rs. 649 with a 19% badge undercuts every 85%-off listing in our read.

We read all 117 in-stock men's sweatshirts and hoodies on Nykaa Fashion's category API on July 31, 2026 — deliberately, because July is when winterwear clears and the prices hit their yearly floor. The badge on this shelf belongs to the brand, not the garment: The Indian Garage Co runs all six of its listings at a flat 80% (from Rs. 460), MISCHIEF MONKEY sells one sweatshirt in six colours all at Rs. 1,218 and 51%, adidas holds 55% across its fabric tiers, and The Souled Store's licensed Marvel shelf sits at 15-19% because licenses never discount. SKECHERS splits cleanest: three clearance listings at exactly 70% and four current ones at exactly 20% — the same brand's green sweatshirts sitting Rs. 1,960 apart on one shelf. The duplicates carry their own arithmetic: a Denim Co crew Rs. 130 under its own colour twins, two Tommy crews at one MRP selling 36% and 26%, and the same-named Nike Flex hoodie live at Rs. 2,272 and Rs. 2,971.

We read all 35 in-stock men's joggers, shorts and track pants on Bewakoof's own category pages on July 31, 2026, and every single listing scored between 4.4 and 4.6 — a band so narrow the ratings cannot tell any two garments apart. So we read the review counts instead, and they read like a sales census. The five largest crowds in the read — 966, 956, 908, 906 and 893 — all sit on brown or green garments, while plain black and navy poll in the four-hundreds. The most-bought thing on the shelf is a Rs. 679 pair of mole brown oversized shorts. Meanwhile the pricing runs its own theatre: ten listings share one price, Rs. 899, with stated MRPs from Rs. 1,799 to Rs. 2,749 producing badges of 50% to 67% on identical money — one brand declaring four different MRPs for garments it sells at one price. At the edges, one listing discounts at just 23% and another at 69% off a stated Rs. 3,899, Rs. 200 apart in real money.

We read 135 in-stock women's heels, sandals, wedges and sneakers from Tata CLiQ's own search responses on July 31, 2026. Sixty-three carried a rating with a review count, and where those counts pool is the finding: the three largest samples in the read — 114, 98 and 98 — are all Puma sneakers, led by the Carina Slim Perf at Rs. 1,800 with 4.2 from 114. At the other end, the deepest badges sit on the thinnest evidence: 85% off on a Truffle Collection heel rated by two people, 75% off on a Red Tape sandal scored 3.0 by three, and 70% off an Aldo sneaker with no rating at all. In between, the shelf keeps demonstrating that price carries no information — Metro sells two beige listings at an identical Rs. 1,618, 35% off the same Rs. 2,490 MRP, where one is rated 4.6 from 24 and the other 4.0 from 11. Four brands price by flat policy, including Inc.5 at exactly 11% on every listing. Read the count, then the score, then the price.

We read 76 in-stock womenswear, kids' and lingerie listings from Marks & Spencer India's own site on July 31, 2026, and found a shelf that runs on exactly six discount rates: 60% covers 46 listings, 70% covers 13, 50% covers 9, 20% covers 6, and the 80% and 15% rates have one listing each. Follow a single MRP through that ladder and the architecture shows itself — sixteen listings declare the identical Rs. 2,499 and sell at Rs. 500, Rs. 750, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 1,250 and Rs. 1,999. The sharpest finding sits at the ladder's two ends: the same Flexifit lace non-wired bralette is 80% off at Rs. 500 in A-E sizes and 20% off at Rs. 1,999 in F-H sizes. Same garment, same declared MRP, and the size range alone moves the price by a factor of four — with neither listing referencing the other. The 70% rack clears the trend stock in linen and velvet; the 60% rate is simply the store's default state; and the 20% rung marks current stock beginning its descent.

We read 245 in-stock AJIO kidswear listings from the retailer's own search responses on July 30, 2026, then grouped them by brand rather than by discount. The pattern is hard to miss. RIO GIRLS appeared ten times and was 75% off all ten times. AARIKA GIRLS ETHNIC appeared seven times and was 60% off all seven. YB DNMX, KG FRENDZ and KB TEAM SPIRIT contributed 41 listings between them and used exactly two figures across the lot: 49% and 75%, nothing in between. At the 75% rate the checkout price is a quarter of the stated MRP to within a rupee, every time. The sharpest pair needs no interpretation: a Rs. 100 crop top badged 75% off sits beside a Rs. 101 T-shirt badged 49% off, same brand, same week — one rupee apart at the till, 26 points apart on the label. Meanwhile MAX used six different rates across nine listings and left one at full price. AJIO returned no ratings for any of the 245, so this page shows no rating pills. Twenty-one picks, read by price first.

We read 91 in-stock Bewakoof womenswear listings from the retailer's own category responses on July 30, 2026, and tested the badge from both directions. Fix the price and the badge moves: ten garments cost exactly Rs. 699, with stated MRPs of Rs. 2,099, Rs. 1,599, Rs. 1,499, Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 999 — badges of 66%, 56%, 53%, 41% and 30% on an identical checkout price, thirty-six percentage points of spread for zero rupees of difference. Fix the MRP and the price moves: six garments state exactly Rs. 1,799 and sell at Rs. 429, Rs. 449, Rs. 599, Rs. 749, Rs. 799 and Rs. 1,399, a 3.3-fold spread producing badges from 76% down to 22%. Six more share Rs. 3,199. Because one MRP covers plain shorts, an oversized tee and a flared midi dress equally, it is a tier label rather than a price. The only comparison that held up came from the garments: a two-piece co-ord set at Rs. 809 is about Rs. 405 a piece, beating every single-garment pick. Not one of the 91 listings was at full price.

We read 255 in-stock Nykaa Fashion listings from the retailer's own category API on July 30, 2026, across menswear, womenswear, footwear, bags and jewellery — and the shelf turns out to be two shops sharing a search box. Seventy-three of the 255 carry no discount at all, and they cluster by label: H&M gave 33 listings with a median discount of 0%, The Souled Store 15 with a median of 0%, Nike eight with a median of 0%, and all five Jockey listings sat at exactly zero. So did a Polo Ralph Lauren T-shirt at Rs. 7,199 and a NILI LOTAN trouser at Rs. 63,599 — which is 57 times the shelf's median price of Rs. 1,120. The other shop is Indian labels on flat house rates: The Indian Garage Co, eight listings all between 58% and 70%; Mabish By Sonal Jain, seven all at 59% or 60%; CAHOOT median 48%. The best arithmetic on the page carries no badge at all — a five-pack of tees at Rs. 2,299, or Rs. 460 a garment.

Libas's homepage on July 30, 2026 read "FOMO Deals - shop under 799, 999 and 1199". We read 108 in-stock listings from Libas's own product feed the same day and counted. Eight came in at or under Rs. 799 — about seven per cent. Twenty at or under Rs. 999, twenty-five at or under Rs. 1,199. The median listing was Rs. 1,819 and the dearest Rs. 12,599, twenty-five times the cheapest. Five of the eight items in the tightest band are Gerua By Libas, a diffusion line rather than a reduction: 20 listings priced Rs. 679 to Rs. 1,399, of which 19 share one stated MRP of exactly Rs. 3,299 and sell at eleven distinct prices with badges from 79% down to 58%. Two blue yoke-design suits on that MRP, described in identical words, cost Rs. 729 and Rs. 1,119. At the other end Libas Art runs 16% to 47% off, and the Rs. 12,599 lehenga carries the second-smallest badge in the read. Three-piece suits work out at about Rs. 226 a garment.
